I have a problem and the only way i can change it is switching back to 1.55.2
normaly it looks like on the screenshot (known recipe green and unknown gray) with the newest version it shows all chars green. so i switched back to 1.55.2 and it works like you see on screenshot. recipe is unknown by this char and with 1.55.2 is this ok (green hook, gray name). newest version (green hook, all names green). |

I already have the saved variables converted to per-Megaserver settings, and am just lacking time to finalize and test changing to character ID-based to name change-proof character settings before I release the new version.
Shouldn't be more than a couple more days though. |

Thanks very much for the info. It will save me time when I go to implement a solution. Next release I hope to have Megaserver separated saved variables and also Character ID-based keys instead of strings so that settings are maintained through character renaming. @fgoron2000: I could have sworn it wasn't always that way. It is good to know I don't have to re-download anything to log in to EU though, since I'm on a 1.2 mega BIT internet.

PS, also, to the programmer, I noticed that you mentioned not having the EU version downloaded. There are not actually separate versions of the game or client, there are simply separate megaservers, at least for load balancing and possibly other reasons, but you are able to connect to and log into each of the two servers using the same account and client.

Hi Phinix. I don't think he's talking about alt accounts, but rather keeping the same account separate from the other megaserver. Separating EU vs NA accounts is done in several addons, including FCO Item Saver, Thief Tools & Craft Store.
I'm very much not a coder, but I think these functions are involved: LUA Code:
The saved variables files wind up storing settings in a structure that looks like this pic, though how it's actually implemented is way beyond me.

Here I found some possibly useful examples from Baertram & Shadowfen: http://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?p=35429 Baertram has actually added a routine to FCOIS that will allow settings to be migrated from one megaserver to another, so he is probably a good person to ask for advice regarding this.

Alt accounts...
This definitely should not happen and I currently have no good explanation. I double checked and the lines that grab characters reads: Code:
local accountName = GetDisplayName() for characterName, _ in pairs(MasterRecipeList.Default[accountName]) do My understanding is that each @account you log in with gets a separate table in the SavedVariables file, which the game client generates for each addon that registers to be able to save settings. I do not have the EU version downloaded or an EU account to confirm directly but with a single account the SavedVariables file shows the table MasterRecipeList["Default"]["@IllusoryID"] and all the addon's settings for that account are inside the ["@IllusoryID"] table. It stands to reason there would be a new separate table added for each account you logged in with, and all the settings for those accounts would go into their sub table just as my NA account does. The GetDisplayName() part of the above code returns the current @account name you are logged in with, and then only pulls names from that table. If you are getting names from another account (which should have its own separate table in SavedVariables) I am not sure what the source may be. Or are you saying you can log in to NA and EU separately with the same @account now? I thought you had to buy a separate copy of the game and register a separate @account name to be able to do that. In any case it isn't too much trouble I would suggest you exit the game and delete your Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables\MasterRecipeList.lua file (optionally copying it to your desktop or somewhere first), then logging in to each account and see if getting both names showing up persists. EDIT: If it is possible to log in with the same @account name to both the NA and EU server then that would be a problem. I don't know of any direct means of detecting the current datacenter through the API.

This is a great addon, and also welcome back...I don't know how long the ability to show both known by and unknown by in the tooltips and to change their colors has been there, but it's great...
Because I went to the EU server for the first time ever for the Summerfall event, i'm now showing my EU character in the tooltip. Is that by design or by game limitation? Is it possible to toggle which server(s) display in the tooltips? thanks very much for this wonderful addon... |

Alt Format request
Firstly I want to say that I love this addon, it makes recipe management so much easier...
I have been using the alt format addon as well but see that you have added most of it's functionality into the base addon now. One feature I really quite like that I don't see is the re-ordering character names in the list to be the same as the order on the character select screen, is it possible for that to be added as an option? |

Thanks. This icon text feature was mainly intended for colorblind support, but I added a new option under the Inventory Icon Options section of the addon settings "Enable icon text overlay" which is now off by default and gives you the ability to enable these only if you want to. Otherwise you can keep the plain icons and just enable the new tooltips for them if you want more information.
