Version: 1.5.1
by: Justinon [More]
Welcome to LorePlay, Soulless One!

Open for translation to other languages! Message me if you want to contribute.

Morrowind update!

Zenimax did a fantastic job making ESO feel immersive and beautiful, but I'm taking that just one step further.
LorePlay is an immersive roleplay addon designed to help bring your character to life whilst wandering Tamriel.
With the adaptive SmartEmotes, IdleEmotes, and LoreWear features, you'll be more engaged with your character than ever.

SmartEmotes
ZOS has provided a plethora of emotes, however many are not used to their full potential.
SmartEmotes expands the way your character experiences and reacts to the land of Tamriel.
Did you swim in a bit of water that was just a tad too cold? You'll certainly have the shivers!
Did you destroy an innocent creature? Maybe you should pray to Y'ffre for forgiveness.
And with SmartEmotes, you can.

Features:
  • Perform appropriate and adaptive emotes with the press of a button!
  • SmartEmotes button is bindable
  • Optional UI indicator lets you know when to perform special emotes
  • Adaptive to location (now housing)
  • Adaptive to level-ups
  • Adaptive to combat and killing bosses
  • Adaptive to friends and strangers when hovering over them
  • Adaptive to lockpicking situations
  • Adaptive to useful loot
  • *NEW!* Adaptive to Mara commitments!
  • Adaptive to much more!
  • Optional adaptive Significant Other recognition in Settings menu
  • ...and many more environmental situations

IdleEmotes
Are you wandering Tamriel, and your character just needs to stop for a brief rest?
Maybe do some quick jumping jacks? Take a quick sit on the nice Valenwood grass?
Maybe you just need to go AFK for some reason, but regardless, you shouldn't just stand there!
And with IdleEmotes, you won't.

Features:
  • Go idle or AFK (not moving, not fighting, not stealthing) and your character will perform automatic emotes!
  • IdleEmotes are context sensitive
  • Adaptive to location
  • Adaptive to housing
  • Adaptive to much more!
  • Can optionally perform emotes even while in the menu
  • Configurable emotes in the Settings menu (Can dance, Can exercise, and more)
  • Toggleable in the Settings menu
  • Keybind can toggle IdleEmotes quickly, in case emotes are not appropriate at the time
  • Configurable duration between emotes

LoreWear
When out venturing across Tamriel, you will certainly need some armor.
But what about when you are taking a stroll through town?
With LoreWear, you will always be dressed appropriately for any occasion.

Features:
  • Automatically equips your favorite outfit sets when appropriate!
  • Contextual City, Housing, Dungeon/Delve, and Adventure outfit sets
  • Save any 'Appearance' collectible in your stylish outfits
  • *NEW!* Vanity pets interchangeable with your favorite outfits!
  • Adorn your favorite set at anytime with a keybind
  • Toggleable in the Settings menu
  • Configurable in the Settings menu (Can equip while mounted, and more)

For Users:
Thank you for trying LorePlay! This is my first addon, so feel free to leave your feedback and suggestions, as that's what is going to truly get this addon moving in the right direction. I plan on releasing updates with many more features and fine-tunings as well. Much is on the to-do list but in order for me to prioritize certain things, I first want to find out your opinions. Thanks again so much everyone, and safe travels in Tamriel!

Heyo,

I just checked this AddOn and saw the error popping up.

The fix is actually pretty easy.

Open LPEmotesTable.lua and replace

allEmotesTable["/letterlookup"]["doesLoop"] = true

with

-- allEmotesTable["/letterlookup"]["doesLoop"] = true --

(Or just outright remove the line)

and the AddOn works again (tested myself. No LUA Errors anymore so far and emotes play randomly). Seems like the /letterlookup emote was removed at some point.

Yes, LorePlay itself has not yet been updated for One Tamriel and will be soon.

I've only had this add-on for a little while, and I am loving it to pieces. However, there is one thing that I feel could be improved. Will there be a way to customize the SmartEmotes? I mean, if your character really does pray to Y'ffre for forgiveness after killing a creature... your character wouldn't also spit on a corpse or grind his/her heel into the creature's face, yeah? There's also the flip-side: characters that don't pray to Y'ffre (or isn't a priest/priestess in general, or perhaps they're not even religious).

Pontificator makes Loreplay disappear

After doing some split-half searches, I determined that whenever I run a data display add-on called Pontificator, LorePlay becomes non-functional and does not show in the Add-on list. (The tragicomic drama masks do appear however.)

I can give up Pontificator, but I thought you and its author might want to figure out why and fix it.

Thanks!

Hey!

So it turns out that there's no function in the API for determining the time of day in game. As for the torch itself, I believe that is only going to happen within dungeons (and consequently in some undetectable places indoors that may be seen as not within a zone or city). Please let me know where it occurred and I'll be happy to look into it.

Thanks for the comment!

So with regards to the Significant Other option, have you tried targeting (having your reticle over) your friend? If you press the SmartEmote button while targeting him, it should work. Perhaps try and ensure the case is correct. But I'll look into it today.

And thanks for confirming it works with No, Thank You
Tested it! Yes it does work. Sorry, I did not realise that you had to press the smart emote button while looking at your Significant other I assumed that the Significant other animations would effect the normal idle animations when you are close to them!

Hey GizmoDuck, thanks for reaching out. So I can tell you that what's happening is actually "correct" according to my addon, and I'll explain to you why (and should this not be desired, feel free to respond with more feedback or suggestions):

When you set your favorite costume, you're telling LoreWear that you want that costume to be equipped whenever you enter a city, instead of picking randomly from your collection. However, in development I made the decision to have this not occur should you already be wearing a costume when entering the city. So basically I make it so the favorite costume won't override the current equipped costume.

The reason for this is that it makes the addon more versatile, allowing you to choose to wear a different costume in the city in any particular instance you may choose, without having to change your favorite (or even worse, without forcing your favorite costume on in an instance where you want a different costume on). Then, whenever your character leaves the city, whatever equipped costume was on comes off to reveal your armor.

So as of right now, the addon only deals with costumes inside cities, not outside them. The current solution to this is to bind the 'Show/Hide LoreWear Clothes' in the Controls menu, and use it whenever you're about to enter the city to take off your equipped costume, and therefore LoreWear will detect that you aren't wearing a costume, and throw on your favorite. I may decide to add an option in the settings which will permit favorite overriding, but I'll have to see.

Hope this helps, and again if you have feedback for desired requests let me know. Safe travels in Tamriel, Traveler!

EDIT: So, after much deliberation, I've decided to go ahead and re-write lots of LoreWear code to fit your desires. I'm going to make a lot of things optional (such as whether your previously worn costume before entering a city will be re-equipped upon exiting a city), in order to preserve the versatility of the addon. So you can have that to look forward to in the next update I may or may not get to hats, but we shall see.

Hey wolfeng_! Sorry I took a while to reply to this comment, I had to work on a few other things before I could figure this one out.

So, to answer your question, yes, it is possible to make the idles not trigger when another emote is active. In fact, I'm working on it right now as I write I'm on the finishing touches, and I will release an update today if all goes well.

Also, I released an update not too long ago with some customization options for IdleEmotes.

Hope I was of help, thanks for your input.
Safe travels in Tamriel, friend!

I do, and thinking about it now, I was wearing one. I have:

Doeskin and Chamois Woods Wear
Shrouded Armor - I was wearing this one.
Thieves Guild Leathers

Good luck!

Edit for those just reading the boards - issue has been repaired
I'm glad I was able to fix the issue; should be working well now! Thanks again for your information to help me out to resolve the issue
