InventoryManager  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.5.2
by: iwontsay [More]
Not yet another Junker or Bank Addon, this Inventory Manager takes care of your needs to automatically stash, retrieve and dispose of your items as you see fit.

This addon works in conjunction with the CraftStore addon to determine which recipes, style motifs or traits are wanted by your current character or your alts and lets you determine whether to put the given recipes into the bank or even get them from the bank if your character deems them suitable.

Rather than working with a preset list of actions and item groupings, this addon allows to set a list of rules which are applied on the items you loot, your inventory or the bank, as you wish. Think the mail filter in Outlook or Thunderbird and you get the idea.

To use the full range of functions within these AddOns, following AddOns are suggested for installation as well:
* CraftStore Summerset for identifying your character's and alt's needs
* FCO ItemSaver for customized marking options

---- Special thanks to:
* Baertram (Your developer docs for FCO ItemSaver really saved the day)
Version 2.5.2
* Fixed handling of FCOIS's dynamic symbols, especially after delay loading had been introduced.
Now editing of those dynamic symbols and using them directly in the manager should work, too!

* Fixed selecting of guild name in Rule Edit

Version 2.4.1

* "unknown traits" and "traits unknown to others" were messed up.

Question Covetous Countess?

Would it be possible to add a filter for the Covetous Countess quest?
I know it can be referenced within the API or by treasure type, but if it's preferable, I could compile a list of item names for the quest.

Thanks!

I'm not sure how to submit a change to the addon, but I'll try and explain here.

1) You need to turn on tracking with craftstore. Open the menu -> Click characters name --> on each character checkmark the four boxes in the top right corner.

2) There is a couple of lines of the "CraftStoreLink.lua" that need to be modified. I will list what to search and replace:

Change "Used_CSA.style.knowledge" to "Used_CS.Data.style.knowledge"
Change "Used_CSA.cook.knowledge" to "Used_CS.Data.cook.knowledge"
Change "Used_CSA.furnisher.knowledge" to "Used_CS.Data.furnisher.knowledge"

That should get it fixed. Hopefully, the author can fix these few places and publish a new version.
Thanks much for posting this, it took about 2 minutes to find the file and make this fix and now its working again. You are my hero today!
Seconded.

I had no idea the change could be so simple.

Occurs at crafting stations and npc vendors when I leave them. I have not tried everything yet.

Update: When I reloaded my UI the error went away.

Hi. Using Inventory Manager has become part of my daily routine now, but I have one feature request to make going forward. I have a large stable of 15 characters to manage every day doing crafting writs and managing recipes to learn. Most of those 15 characters have the profile setting in IM as "Base" for my base profile, and any time I want to change or tweak this profile, the changes don't occur unless I go into every single character's IM settings and tell it to reload the Base profile again. As this is being done on 14 of my characters each time I make a minor change, it's a bit annoying to do.

Is there any chance that you'll implement some form of persistent profile management for IM? What I mean is this: if I load a profile for one character then change that same profile while playing another character, I'd like the settings in IM for the first character to also change according to the changes made in that shared profile.

As I have the maximum amount of characters allowed in the game and don't generally keep character-specific settings for ease, dealing with character-specific settings on any addon is a bit of a hassle whenever I'd like to alter them for future activities. In this addon, having individualized profiles makes sense. I use a "Gatherer" profile on one of my characters and would like to keep that separate from my base, but the lack of reactivity to my changes to a shared profile while playing on another character is a bit frustrating to me.

If this persistent profile management option could be togglable, that would be fine by me. Or if some form of chat-based command could be implemented to swap/update profiles, that would also work; I could program a macro to run that command with the proper parameters each time I either press a button or simply log into a character. Either way, I'm looking forward to any future updates to this addon.

Thank you in advance for any feedback to my post.

The one thing I wasn't able to set up are the surveys. I've tried it with 'any item, blue quality, text filter survey', 'any misc, blue quality' and a bunch of other categories, but nothing worked for me.

May I ask your help, how can I set a rule for the surveys?

Thanks a lot!
I have 2 rules set up for surveys and they both work like a charm. I am actually at a point I am removing one of them which I will explain. As the author suggested I use both Craftstore and FCOItemSaver (both amazing addons btw). That said....

I have a Dynamic icon set up in FCOItemSaver for Surveys. The first time I get a particular survey I tag it with this icon. Makes it very handy for visually seeing them and making sure I handle them the way I want them to be handled (no selling, etc.)

In Inventory Manager, I have the following 2 rules:

1. Store in Own Bank...[General type]Item | [Specific type]Any | [Trait](irrelevant) | [FCO Itemsaver Marking]No mark | [Minimum Quality]Worn | [Maximum Quality]Legendary | [Filter text]Survey:

2. The exact same settings as Rule 1 with 2 exceptions: (1) Remove the [Filter text] and change [FCO ItemSaver Marking] to the name of the Dynamic icon in FCO ItemSaver if you created one. In my case it is Survey.

I have another toon which only removes them from the bank by not having these rules in his profile but a Retrieve from own bank...rule with FCO Itemsaver mark rule only.

Once you have tagged the surveys they just all show up with the FCO Itemsaver mark. As I have gotten them all at this point I am removing the filter text rule and just using the FCO Itemsaver mark to keep my rules cleaner.

Hope this helps you.
Worked like a charm indeed, everything is sunshine now, thanks a lot

Needs a bit more documentation and examples

Hi. I love addons like this but have a few gripes with this particular implementation.

First, some additional documentation on the functions at play and examples of how they work would go a long way in alleviating my confusion. What does a cross-reference actually do? What does a negation do to the maximum execution count of a rule? How does a negation rule effect other rules of its group? How do the rules interact with each other? Is it like an "OR" operation or more like an "AND"? How does the order of the rules matter in creating more complex logics?

Here are a few more specific rule idea questions: How do I specify an amount of an item to keep in my inventory while depositing the rest in my bank? Can one set rules to withdraw any surveys and treasure maps from the bank but not the ones with the word "Cyrodiil" in it? Can one make rules which do nothing if they would withdraw what another rule has already deposited in the same run? If so, how?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I would love to see a way for that.
I have an addon called Wish List that adds a FCO mark to items looted which are on the list. Would love to see that feature added here.
