AlphaGear 2 (Builds, Gear, Skills, Banking)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.17.0
by: mesota [More]
Anything you need to manage your skills and gear.
I've adopted this great AddOn from AlphaLemming and changed the name to "AlphaGear 2" for the version that I maintain.

AlphaGear 2 lets you create up to 20 profiles each with 16 builds that may be activated with a single button press. Each build consists of
  • 7 pieces of armor
  • 3 pieces of jewelry
  • 2 weapon bars including poison
  • 2 skill bars
  • 1 outfit or
  • 1 style (outfit, costume, pet etc. using AlphaStyle integration) (optional)
  • 1 FCO Item Saver gear icon (optional)
  • 1 Champion Point Set using Champion Points Slots add-on (optional)

Please backup your AlphaGear settings prior update!

To users of AlphaGear 3
AG 3 is a branch of AG 2 by another developer. It isn't maintained anymore. If you want to switch back to AG 2, just make a backup of your SavedVariables, uninstall AG 3 and install AG 2.
Your builds will then be available in AG 2.

Now available: Integrations!

Known Issues
  • Updating a version prior 6.x with minion doesn't seem to work. Workaround: Delete the .../AddOns/AlphaGear directory and reinstall AlphaGear 2. Don't delete anything from .../SavedVariables. AlphaGear 2 will reuse your already created sets.

There is a far easier way: Set a single point in Continuous Attack in the Alliance War - Assault tree, that one gives permanent mayor gallop buff as long as you're on a mount, even outside of PVP.

Don't have the point unlocked and don't want to do PVP? Do the Cyrodiil trainings quests, that gives enough rank to unlock it and you have to do nothing but talk to NPCs and hit target dummies with some provided artillery, takes about 5 minutes total.

Can't find LibAddonMenu?

When I first ran ESO with AlphaGear2 installed, it was disabled, saying that it couldn't find LibAddonMenu-2. However, I do have LibAddonMenu installed, which is version 2 but it doesn't have the "2" in its name.

Clicking on "Use out of date add-ons" made AlphaGear work, but I wanted to check if this is a known issue and if I did the right thing.

Thanks!

For those with champion points slots issues, I believe that is due to this AddOn being made before CPS was updated to function with CP 2.0. Most likely it won't work until alpha gear is updated.

Broken ChampionsPointsSlots integration

Hey!

I love the addon, have been using it for many many years at this point
The one issue I have, is that the CPS Integrations is broken- it can't be turned on When I turned it on manually by editing the savedVariables, it still doesn't seem to be working. However, the other addon integrations work just fine, so I suspect some name change etc is preventing AG from seeing ChampionPointsSlots as installed and/or active

First things first: I am loving your Addon, mate. It is such a big help, especially when you're playing multiple roles on one character.

Now for the "problem" with champion points slots: I have both AG2, Champion Points Slots and Lib AddonMenu as up to date versions installed. In addon settings under integrations I see that CPSlots integration is "On". I saved 2 profiles from the CP menu under "Users" profile. Though, when I open advanced build options, I can only pick an outfit to go with a build. No boxes appear for CPSlots. I am not getting any error messages and I am happy to provide any further information, if needed/wanted.

Meso, by any chance could you take a look at this error:

Code:
EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_Templates/ScrollTemplates.lua:758: attempt to index a nil value
stack traceback:
EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_Templates/ScrollTemplates.lua:758: in function 'AreSelectionsEnabled'
EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_Templates/ScrollTemplates.lua:1514: in function 'ZO_ScrollList_SelectData'
|caaaaaa<Locals> data = [table:1]{name = "AlphaGear 2", filterText = "alphagear 2	mesota"} </Locals>|r
user:/AddOns/LibAddonMenu-2.0/LibAddonMenu-2.0.lua:769: in function 'lam:OpenToPanel'
|caaaaaa<Locals> self = [table:2]{}, panel = ud, selectedData = [table:1] </Locals>|r
user:/AddOns/AlphaGear/AlphaGearSettings.lua:226: in function 'AG.ShowSettings'
AG_PanelOptionButton_Clicked:2: in function '(main chunk)'
|caaaaaa<Locals> self = ud, button = 1, ctrl = F, alt = F, shift = F, command = F </Locals>|r
It happens only if I am trying to open configuration of AG. Everything work fine except config.

Clean install didn't helped (removed addon manyally, reinstalled with minion).

ps Problem solved somehow. After few restarts of client its gone now.... No idea what was that

This is the feature I am missing since doing this way I can create mix of gears without replicatitng the same pieces of gears in two different gear slots..
I'm playing healer as well and have lot of 5-piece gear setups for body and for jewelry+weapons but it's not a big problem to mix them together manually. To be fair almost every run requires some changes in setup so mixing gear (and even skills) will not help a lot. The real cool thing AG2 helps with is the ability to quickly slot 5-piece gears with one click
Yea sure, but my point is: in the gear slots you put all of your single sets, like for example 5 pieces olorime in one slot, 5 pieces hollowfang in another gear slot. Then, in the build settings you mix those sets and you add also skills. Doing like this you basically do not repeat same sets in the gear menu but you just repeat them in the build part of the menu. Doing like this to me would be more useful and visually clear, but that's my opinion!
Many users are almost lost by having to combine a gear set and two skill sets to a build. Combining gear fragments to a gear set seems to make the learning curve even steeper.
On the other hand this is an intriguing idea. Would 2 gear slots be enough? How about weapons?

-mesota
The way I imagined the add-on is that you have:
- gear slots: the place where you put all of your sets, one set per Gear slot, two sets or even a single weapon (master's, maelstrom etc) or also a gear slot for monster helmet + shoulder
- ability slots: the place where you put all of your mixture of skills (and that's the way it is right now)
- build slot: the place where "you link" different sets and skills to create your build.
Maybe it's more difficult to understand at first, but then you have all the power to create your builds without having to repeat the same sets in every gear slot. That's the way I imagine the add-on

Is it ok to simply rename the old section in the SavedVariables lua file and delete the (still empty) new section?

edit:
yes
Glad you found the 'official' way fixing ist

I thought about deleting of builds and sets. What do you think about this suggestion?

New Function "delete build":
Will clear references to gear and sets, clears the sets if they aren't used by other builds and resets name and icon to defaults.

New function "reorganize profile":
Will clear all skill sets of the current profile which aren't referenced by a build
Will clear all gear sets of the current profile which aren't referenced by a build
Will sort builds by name and will arrange sets so that the sets appear in the same order as the builds

Hmmm it's more of I just want to delete entire builds and re-arrange. For example I don't want them ordered by abc or something but more, I want to be able to order them the order I use them. Like healing, pve, dps, farming, and then lesser used stuff for me like pvp, etc. Not in abc order. Or lets say I stop using my dps build. There's no way for me to completely delete that profile and maintain the order.
I see. Unfortunately this would cause serious effort in managing the UI. I've introduced sort keys in other places. How about sorting builds by a sort key which might be set in the advanced properties? Unused build-slots can be sorted down then.
