Urich's Skill Point Finder  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 7.3.2
by: fritzOSU03, Onigar, tim99, yachoor
Description
Have you ever been in a situation where you need more skill points but you have no idea where to get them? Well today is your lucky day! Urich's Skill Point Finder provides a graphical interface showing all of the skill points you have (and haven't) earned throughout the entire game. You can show or hide the window by binding a hotkey or by entering the slash command. Slash command information is below.

Please Note
From Version 5.1.0 you need to separately install: LibTableFunctions-1.0 and LibAddonMenu-2.0

Localization
Localization for Russian, German, French, and Japanese is included. I speak only English so I am very sorry if a translation is incorrect. My only available source was Google Translate. Please message me if you see a translation that can be improved or shortened where space is an issue. Also feel free to provide a complete translation for another language if you would like to see it added to a future update.

Slash Commands
  • /uspf - Show or hide the USPF window.
  • /uspf help - Display help information in the chat window.
Known Issues/Complications
  1. The Folium Discognitum is a scroll that awards two skill points on use. Because the Folium is a scroll and not a book, it is not possible to determine if if you have earned those points besides comparing the number of earned skill points with the number of expected skill points + 2. There is an override in the settings menu if this information is not correct for your character.
  2. There are skill points awarded upon completion of tutorial quests for Morrowind and following chapters characters. If you skip the quest you'll get the skill point but the addon will not be able to determine that. There are override options in the settings menu for these skill points if this information is not correct for your character.

This is on my new NA char, that did no quests other than whole scribing and dungeons and it's off by 2 skill points - one would be from crow wing, where does the 2nd one come from!?

Hmm, made a new char, did first scribing quest and still have 3 skill points - 2 from lvl and 1 from tutorial.
So why all my chars have additional unaccounted skill point (including the one that actually did the crow wing and have two unaccounted skill points)?

My oldest character is still missing the tutorial quest skill point, my newest one from Necrom did everything too and has only 1 tutorial skill point, I don't think it was possible to get 2 at any point (hopefully, dealing with this is complicated enough without having to guess about 2 tutorials)

Weird - all my characters seem to have now additional skill point and they only did first scribing quest and no wings (did it on 1 char only).

I'll have to do the whole thing again on fresh account to check where those skill points actually come from (could it be they made it based on account wide achievement and you get it on every char when you do it or does the first quest grant it when you've done the wings once or is it just reward for first quest always?) :/

No, Wailing Prison in its current incarnation does not give a tutorial skill point.

In fact I believe it never did, even in its incarnation as the original pre-Morrowind base game tutorial/introduction - this was the problem with characters who started on a version of the game that had no Chapters installed, they were shorted by a skill point: up until the tutorial revamp at the time of Blackwood, in which the Balfiera tutorial became the standard tutorial even for people who purchased the non-Blackwood base-game-only version. (A situation which remained unchanged after Morrowind was released as "free" and is now bundled in with every new base-game purchase.)

In any case I actually SAW the "GAINED 1 SKILL POINT" flash across the screen when completing the Crow's final Scribing unlock, the fifth door in the Scholarium.

This is not part of the West Weald storyline. Is it meant to be included in the West Weald quests skill points? Because USPF is still telling me I have 0 of those (since I haven't started the story)... but that I have "2/1" skill points from the Tutorial.

I assume it has noticed I have 1 more skill point that it has calculated (even accounting for my 2 from Folium Discognitum), and somehow defaults to sticking it on the Tutorial...

Anyway, surely, since the Great Skill Point Reorganization of a couple of years ago, surely now everybody has a Tutorial skillpoint, even the people who have been around since the original Tutorial didn't grant one were given one? (You get the Tutorial skill point automatically whether you actually do it, or skip it.)
Yeah, I missed that one, will add soon, thx (was wondering why there's only 8 skill point quests in the zone when there are usually 9).
I collapsed all different tutorial quests, since you could only do 1 of them, but there are still overrides for each of them in the settings separately, so I suspect you have 2 overrides enabled for that char (or override and done different tutorial) and that's where 2/1 comes from (I'm planning on getting rid of it completely and just detect when you have +1/+2/+3 skill points that you got tutorial/discognitum/tutorial+discognitum, but haven't gotten time to do it yet).
I think my first character is still missing that one skill point from tutorial, but if not that'll simplify things a lot.

This also get me thinking about this whole snippet:

Code:
	local world = GetWorldName()
	if world == "NA Megaserver" then
		USPF.sVar = ZO_SavedVars:NewAccountWide("USPF_Settings", USPF.version, nil, USPF.defaults)
	else
		USPF.sVar = ZO_SavedVars:NewAccountWide("USPF_Settings", USPF.version, world, USPF.defaults)
	end
- why pass nil instead of "NA Megaserver"??
Umm, this addon uses version 1.0 and will probably never change to avoid wiping all user settings.
Not sure where you got 1.1 from, but it seems it was changed (incorrectly) from number to string.

I don't have access to code history from the beginning, but I assume it's the same reason for passing nil instead of world name - to not wipe all NA users settings when support for different settings on other servers was added.
There's probably some way to migrate it without wiping all saved data, but I haven't looked into it yet, so I'm avoiding any changes to SV more complex than adding new values for now

<Locals> self = [table:5]{}, savedVariableTable = "USPF_Settings", version = 1.1, namespace = "EU Megaserver", defaults = [table:2] </Locals>
user:/AddOns/USPF/USPF.lua:1716: in function 'USPF_Initialized'
<Locals> eventCode = 65536, addonName = "USPF", world = "EU Megaserver" </Locals>
This also get me thinking about this whole snippet:

Code:
	local world = GetWorldName()
	if world == "NA Megaserver" then
		USPF.sVar = ZO_SavedVars:NewAccountWide("USPF_Settings", USPF.version, nil, USPF.defaults)
	else
		USPF.sVar = ZO_SavedVars:NewAccountWide("USPF_Settings", USPF.version, world, USPF.defaults)
	end
- why pass nil instead of "NA Megaserver"??

Ok, don't have much time lately to figure out and test stuff, so I went with WalkerInTheVoid idea and just split the dungeons into 2 columns, hope that's enough for now to fit on screen

Yeah thats nice good stuff thank you but i think for the long future it will be the best way to integrate a system like this with the charackters but for the stuff like group dungeons skyshards open boss events some stuff and then to have a list in there where u can scroll up and down
