Combat Log Statistics (CLS)

Based on the Foundry Tactical Combat addon made by Atropos. CLS displays current combat in a separate window. It should be used as a tool to help form strategies in-game.

Navigation

"/CLS" or "/CLS help" will bring up all options in game
"/CLS Main" will show the Main Combat Log Window
"/CLS DPS" will show the DPS Window
Under the Game Menu (ESC), Under Settings => Addon Settings, there is "CLS"
Also view the combat log in the first chat window, a chat window of its own, both, or neither

It seems the API doesn't allow that. However I made workaround for my self that cleared everything on Chat tab and created tab named General and then enabled the chats there.

Yea I read the issue with the addon being renamed before I even installed, so I was sure to delete the old version then manually install the new, so it shouldn't be a conflict issue.

Could maybe send you my variables file as tahts likely what triggered it. And its 100% reproduceable for me, soon as I attack, ui errors like crazy.

Reverted to previous version, all was fine. (uses different variables file ofcourse since it was renamed)

Yea bit tired bout ot head to bed, but I'll take another stab at explaining this better step by step:

1. Im on attack tab, all is fine. I have 11+ items, so the window is scrollable, but I can i see only 1 to 10.
2. I switch to the first tab "You" tab:
I scroll up a bit to look at whats happened. I spin my wheel down lots to bring it back to the bottom for the next events (likely past where it would need to go to hi the bottom to be sure)
2. I hit attack tab. Now I only see 2 to 11, as the windows been scrolled down. (And I didnt scroll this tab, so thats very unintuitive.

Upon further testing, scrolling down when a window isn't scrollable as it's a the bottom, will still scroll other windows that aren't even focused.

The core design may make this unfixable directly perhaps, other then locking the attack tab like previous versions. (or providing yet more options).

Sorry, but there is no current workaround for sending messages to other tabs chat windows. We can make faux windows like I did with this last update and put stuff in it. But other than that no.

Yeah sorry this was my bad, forgot to mention I changed the name in my change log (also I don't use Minion so have no idea how that worked). But yes I had to take out the spaces, otherwise you could not disable the addon in game. If you had it installed it would be running. So taking out the spaces fixed this.

Those of you running Minion, I guess the app just locates the same folder it has been saving to before instead of deleting and creating a new folder. So if you are getting any weird errors all the time make sure to go in and delete the folder that has spaces "Combat Log Statistics" and not "CombatLogStatistics".

Yeah definitely going to do this. Would be cool if you added options to it to hide certain things, which i believe was the only other modification I made to it past moving the window above the chat window. But yes, will make it an optional dependency in next update.

Sorry not sure if you mean when you switch tabs the other windows have been scrolled to a different position (like no words are showing, all of them have disappeared after scrolling one of the tabs and switching to another) or if you are in the Text goes "UP" direction option and when you switch to the Attack or Heal tab the top Damage/Heal is not showing because it is off the screen.

If the first case then it is a bug and I cannot reproduce it. If anyone else is having this problem please let me know (also try the method fix above just in case).

If it is the second case, that the words are still their but it looks like it has scrolled to the bottom of the list, that is there by design. See the way I designed the UI for this addon is by making a main window (the one you can resize) and putting (text) windows stacked on top of one another (making a list or wall of windows) and hooking it to the main window. All tabs use these same (text) windows. By default the "DOWN" direction makes the first window in that list attached to the top left corner of the main window. Then 2 though "Max Lines Shown" are attached to the first one going "Down" so ...

Main Window Top Left
1.
2.
3.
....
Main Window Bottom Left

The text is filled in this order as well newest text comes in at 1. everything else is pushed down into the next window. No matter how you resize the main window the number 1 text window will stay in that top left corner.

By switching it to "UP" direction it basically reverses where the first window is hooked (the Bottom Left) ...

Again text is filled in this order newest to number 1 everything else pushed to the next window.

The Max Lines Shown option will create more (text) windows in which text can appear. However these anchor points will not change for the first window. You can never get the first window to not show on the main window (as long as you don't make it smaller than said window). All other windows can be hidden or shown based on the height of the main window.

With this update I kept the windows the same and inversed the text that I feed to the (text) window for Attack and Heal tabs so they show up going with the highest damage at the top to the lowest at the bottom with total following. So in the window it looks like this...

Main Window Top Left

3. "8. Heavy Attack: XXX"
2. "9. Light Attack: XXX"
1. "Total Damage: XXXX"
Main Window Bottom Left

I will make it an option in the next update to switch it back to original.

*Need to fix it so the list window size is based on the text size again. But other than for resizing purposes the Max Lines Shown option was supposed to allow people that wanted smaller or bigger text to get more text into the main window.

**I could make more (text) windows and have them anchored in the appropriate spot for the appropriate tab however I fear the memory usage of creating more window. Currently by default the addon creates 18 windows.

Had to revert to previous: Major: Worked fine for a few hours, then just seeminly randomly (though right after I hit the attack tab - think that triggered it), every single time I dealt any damage, id get a ui error: combat log statistics.lua - line 691: attempt to index a nil value 691: in function FCL.ButtonToggle FCLMeters.lua:359: in function FCL.DPS combat log statistics.lua - line 1058: in function FCL.NewCombat.Event Also previously to this I got an error that was about the same as bove, but just the FCL.ButonToggle upon hitting the attack tab. It otherwise kind of worked: Attack tab now scrolls and shows more lines, but its worse then before because: Im usually on the regular combat log, and i'll sometimes mousewheel up and down on it to review the previous combat.. But the mousewheel now scrolls ALL windows, regardless of which one you on. So when i got back to my attack to see my top dps attacks, well they aren't shown, because its been scrolled off the screen. Also: I kind of got used to and started to prefer my top dmg at the bottom lol. Guess you can't win with us.. Another option to make it work like v1.05 please? (regular top to bottom combat log, with reversed 10 to 1 dps display) I'd also be ok with that attack screen not scrolling at all, as I figured out how to view the top 15 in the previous version: Just resize the window when you need to see me. Sure it's not ideal, but it works fine for me. Also not sure the purpose of the "max lines shown" dealy. Isn't that just limited by the size of our window anyways? Or does it related to the attack tab too? Anyways yea ill stick to 1.05 until you iron all this out, and maybe just manually apply that werewolf fix since im gonna do that quest soon. PS: Renaming the addon caused me to lose my lifetime stats too, kinda sux.. Previous minor updates did manage to keep those (tho lose most other settings). For anyone else experiencing this error, Chattab Manager is not required for this addon (it also does nothing for you if you're not an addon developer), I have directly implemented it into my code. If you have it installed I would uninstall it.

Its a good catch though since now I realize that I will probably have to change some of the code just incase future addons implement the same code. Thank You.

Zeak maybe adding it as an optional depency would be better that way your code is smaller and you wont be forced to update after every fix Ive pushed. Seeing that its optional it seems better that way - the only downside would be that people would have to install ChatTabs Manager as well if they want it to be integrated in their Chat Window. Ill try to make instructions on how to integrate it as an optional dependency.

Im going to release a few Addons that use it that way as well so people will have to install ChatTabs Manager sooner or later (if they want to use the Plugins). Similiar to how Wys Framework works. Im not planning to make any API Changes that should break your code so you should be save even if I update it from time to time and if I do Im going to inform you guys beforehand.

Stay tuned for an update soon.

Wow you must have a high amout of crit to be getting spammed that message, pretty impressive. I wasn't getting any in my # of Crit output so I added a debug, forgot to take it out. Ill patch it in a minute.
