As I like to gather everyhing and leave nothing behind I come to realize that I just do not have enough bag space ... thus this addon came to life.

I was inspired by the Loot Filter addon by Kallak and decided to create my own version of a loot filter which fits my needs.

  • Reworked ingredients filter - now language independent! - in the settings window it will show the English names - Upcoming improvement: I am going to implement a function that the names automatically adapt to the clients language when you first loot it. - Reorganized ingredients list, in case I've forgotten anything please let me know (actual list should cover all existing recipes - ingredients not found present in the list are automatically kept!)
  • implemented update functionality - old ingredient settings should be automatically taken into account - but just to be sure, please check your settings again after doing that update!
  • added the option to filter lockpicks - set item type tool and ,e.g., for english client set filter name to lockpick (just to be sure, as I do not know what else is counted as tool aside from lockpicks)




What is does:
  • Completely configurable via settings menu - all options can individually be turned on an off, optional debug / info output, filter rules definition via settings - no need to edit .lua files!
  • Automatically mark looted items as junk - by item type and additionally you can specify a part of an items name you want to filter (e.g., I do not need stamina potions and would like to have them automatically assigned as junk, but I want to keep all other potions. So I defined a rule to filter potions and as filter text I added stamina - now all potions, whose name includes stamina will be filter, but all others are not touched)
  • Option to automatically destroy all junk items when looting them below a given gold value threshold
  • Implemented a lot of new security checks before applying filter rules (e.g., if you have a stack of provisioning mats in your bag but you set to filter and destroy all provisioning mats and you loot one of the item you already have stacked, it will be excluded from the filtering algorithm automatically)
  • Option to define an item quality level which excludes all items of this quality and above from the filtering algorithm
  • In each rule you can now (optionally!) set an item level threshold to only effect items below that level.
  • Each provisioning ingredient can be set individually to be kept or junked - ingredient names are shown in English but the filtering algorithm works language independent! This can be set via a special filter option window for ingredients!
  • and for convenience, as I am lazy it can automatically sell junk at vendors and repair all equipped items

Future extensions:
  • add a whitelist to exclude some items from the whole process
  • allow more detailed filter rules
  • maybe implement a function in bag context menu to automatically create a loot rule based on a current item

I have not encountered any errors. My suggestion is not needed. The item compare your code uses is better.


Thank you for this add-on! It is a pleasure to not need to micromanage inventory.

thank you for reporting this - yes, that might be the reason, need to check this

Regarding the global item quality filter - hm, you're right, you can not filter legendary items, but as you said, who would want to do that anyway? But as I intended this as a "security" filter, maybe I make it toggleable.

And yes, moving the section is a good idea

About the provisioning filter, it is basically based on the item id, and nothing else. Do you have encountered any errors where some items are not destroyed correctly?

That text filter for a recipe doesn't work. It doesn't junk it. I think it is the hyphen or minus sign that is throwing off the text compare. When I used "Wife" or "Wife Ale" it did junk it.

Nice add-on!

The global quality level filter should default to an OFF value, otherwise it overrides possible quality setting in the individual line items. Put another way it will always prevent any filters for legendary items. I can’t imagine I’d want to automatically junk/destroy anything legendary. I don’t have 8 level 50 Vet 12 toons yet so maybe that will change

Please consider moving the section for adding filters to the top of the settings window. The most common reason to access the setting window is to add a filter.

The 1.1.2 patch seems to have added a bogus level value to the GetItemLink return value. The items are identical but the 3rd numeric value after “:Item:” seems to be the level of the looting toon for things like fishing bait, food, drink, etc. Might be useful for your provisioning filter section to have code that ignores the level value when checking to see if it is auto-junked/destroyed.

You need to add filters manually for each type of items (armor, recipes, glyphs and so on..). You will also need to define the threshold for destroying items (<10 gold for example).

I had the same issue with my addon. It is because almost everything is numbered from 1, but bag slots starts from 0.
To fix this issue, find the line 257 in LootFilterRemix.lua:

and change it to:

  1. for i=0,bagSlots,1 do

The same issue is also with slash commands, so you can do the same with lines 398, 419 and 452.

Bug report - I noticed autosell junk always leaves 1 item not sold. I had this more than 10 times now, those were totally various items. Didn't check for sure, bust most likely it's the one junked first.

That is caused by the fact that the info message is independet of the filter settings. Just disable the info message in the settings for researchable if you're not interested in it.

Gives me a message in chat "LFR Info - "Item Name" can be researched" and then does nothing with the items.
Any idea why this might be happening?
