Foundry Tactical Combat (FTC)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.72
by: Atropos [More]
Foundry Tactical Combat is a user interface enhancement for The Elder Scrolls Online designed to give players access to relevant combat data in an easy to process framework which allows them to respond quickly and effectively to evolving combat situations. The multiple components of the FTC addon are designed to restore certain information to the game interface which many gamers may feel is missing from the default minimalistic UI.

The addon is still in active development by Atropos, and will hopefully continue to evolve and improve during the coming weeks and months. If you are a fan of the addon, keep an eye on the main addon page on Tamriel Foundry to ensure you always have the latest version.

FTC Components

Foundry Tactical Combat has six primary components which are each optionally configurable. All UI elements added by FTC can be disabled or repositioned to suit your preferences. Additionally, Foundry Tactical Combat is fully localized for French and German client versions!

Unit Frames – FTC Unit Frames refers to the display of attribute bars and other information pertaining to yourself, your target, and your group members. The FTC frames are designed to be lightweight and informative. The frames show numerical values for your resources and damage shielding, as well as visual indicators for active HoT and DoT effects, your target’s exceute threshold, and more. The unit frames can have a rich set of aesthetic customization options allowing you to achieve the exact look that fits your UI style.

Active Buff Tracking – The Buff Tracking component of FTC displays a configurable list of icons representing the known buff and debuff effects that are currently affecting your character. The ESO addon API does not provide this information for buffs with durations shorter than 30 seconds, but FTC uses an intelligent combination of detection mechanisms to carefully approximate your inventory of active effects. This knowledge can help you make more informed combat decisions, improve your resource management, and optimize your ability rotation.

Combat Log – Foundry Tactical Combat incorporates a text-based combat log which records a history of combat events so that you can review the details of recent encounters. The combat log by default alternates visibility with the ESO chat tab, but can be detached and positioned wherever you desire on-screen. An optional keybinding can be used to quickly toggle the visibility of the combat log.

Scrolling Combat Text – The FTC Scrolling Combat Text component enables real-time display of damage and healing values as they occur in combat as well as a helpful Combat Alerts component that warns your character immediately when significant combat events occur. FTC’s combat text displays the name and icon (when possible) for known sources of damage as well as useful indicators for damage avoidance through shielding, blocking, or dodging. The display style and format of scrolling combat text events can be customized in the settings menu.

Damage Statistics – The Damage Statistics component adds analytical tools to help you examine and improve your combat performance. While in-combat a small DPS meter tracks the length of your current encounter, your cumulative damage-per-second, and your cumulative healing-per-second throughout the fight. After combat has concluded, you can open a full Damage Report which details the composition of your damage and healing by target. These statitics can be linked to your party members in chat using a configurable keybinding or by clicking on the chat icons in the damage report.

Advanced Hotbar – The Advanced Hotbar component improves the default ESO action bar by adding some additional information that is useful in combat. Your current Ultimate pool and your percentage towards the next Ultimate activation is displayed as well as a visual glow indicator behind the ultimate itself which indicates that you are currently generating additional Ultimate in combat. The Advanced Hotbar component also adds an explicit potion cooldown timer so you can know exactly when you will be able to use your next consumable item.

Installation Instructions
To install Foundry Tactical Combat follow these steps. FTC is also supported by Minion, an automated ESO addon management utility.

1) Download FTC_Current.zip to a location of your choosing.
2) Extract the .zip archive into your ESO addons folder found in My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons/ for Windows users, or Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons. for OS X.
3) You should now have a folder inside Addons named “FoundryTacticalCombat” which contains the addon files.
4) Launch The Elder Scrolls Online. FTC should be automatically enabled. If not, go to the Add-Ons section of the game menu and make sure that the box beside Foundry Tactical Combat is checked.
5) Access the FTC configuration settings by navigating in-game to Settings -> Add-Ons -> FTC, or by simply typing “/ftc” into chat.

  2. Fix a bug with Werewolf transformations that were causing an occasional error.

  4. Update embedded LibAddonMenu version.

Sorry that there’s not more meaningful changes in this set, but I hope this continues to improve your quality of life using FTC, thanks for supporting the addon!
Much appreciated. Thanks for a great addon and support.

Edit: Still problematic. Now it doesnt happen during weapon swap, but as combat is initiated. Error message is slightly different

Hmm, strange, thanks for reporting this. I'll try and check it out later today. May be some strange interaction between the werewolf bar and crystal fragments listener. Do you have all the werewolf skills unlocked? Or do you have empty hotbar slots on your werewolf bar?
For some reason I have the disease (Sanies Lupinus) and Lycanthropy at the same time according to my buffs. Could that do it? The countdown clock for Sanies Lupinus is at 1 day. I tried it on another werewolf character and the error didn't appear. Hopefully after the day countdown it will stop.
It went away on it's own. Thanks for the reply and the great addon.
I also get this, I have a Sorcerer, but not the werewolf line. It happens when I switch skill bars.

buff name

Hi, I just came back to the game after months of inactivity and discovered this great addon !
I really like the simple configuration of it and all the useful informations it gives.
There is just one thing I'd like to know, is it possible to get the full name of long duration buff ? I've seen screenshots of ftc old versions where we could see buff's full name, and I can't seem to find the option in the new ftc addon.
I don't remember all icons meaning so it would be really helpful if someone could help me with this.

Thanks (and sorry for the bad english)

Great!

Great addon! But please, let us move each of the buff bars separately and with the frames disabled! I don't like the frames but I can not move the buff bars at all with them disabled. They also get out of position them since they move when I disable the frames.

Something that would be nice to see also is a way to change font for the combat text and other stuff.

a big thanks for such great addon.
i'm using it since beta and i was very happy when i saw that you started again to actively develop it.
with new version i noticed a difference in how it tracks potions usage. Instead of tracking the additional effect "restore X over Y time"(in 1.6 i think is regeneration buff) it tracks the potion cooldown. Can we have back pre 0.37 way of tracking for potions?
And maybe an option to manage fonts/fonts size. Default size with custom UI scale is a bit small.

Yes I am loving this addon too, but could you please add an option to change the "opacity while not full."
Also, could you seperate the opacities for the target and the players frame? Great addon man, keep up keeping the UI perfect.

This is what the game's API is actually reporting for Wrecking Blow. I don't know why, I asked ZOS about it and haven't gotten a response yet.

Hello,
there is a chance to have the font size option in next release of this addon?
the rolling text is too small (for my sight) and having the option to increase font size it would be great.

Thanks in advance

Thank you! 'CommaValue function' was the missing Information. I made the change. Now my character has really high values . And setting FTC.language to "German" works!

Trying again, since the author hasn't replied...
I think it's all or nothing at the moment. I hadn't really considered that. Thanks for pointing out that weakness of the addon. I'll need to separate non-combat opacity for the horse resource bar from the rest of the frames.

I assume that I have to change the global field FTC.language in FoundryTacticalCombat.lua. Right?

What about Thousands Separators in the player frame (Health, ...) ? You know, in German the dot is used as a thousands separator

How can I fix it? I haven't found the code line.
Localization is detected in lang/Localization.lua. This is using an "old method" for detecting which language version the user is running. I should probably try and figure out a better way to do this. I'm sure some other authors have figured out a more elegant solution if I look around. If you want to manually force German you can do it there by replacing the contents of the FTC.Localize() function with:

Good point about the Thousands separator, I didn't actually know that you used decimal points instead of commas for separators. I can change the CommaValue function to reflect that for German localizations.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand the issue. What I think you're saying is that if you place the mini DPS meter in the center of your screen, it overlaps some other UI elements and prevents them from being clicked?

I believe the mini-meter should disappear when you are in an inventory screen, but I can double check this behavior.

I wouldn't say XP and CP are entirely different. They are actually the same, you just get an x4 multiplier towards your champion progress if you are enlightened. I'll think about the best way to present this information.
