Foundry Tactical Combat (FTC)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.72
by: Atropos [More]
Foundry Tactical Combat is a user interface enhancement for The Elder Scrolls Online designed to give players access to relevant combat data in an easy to process framework which allows them to respond quickly and effectively to evolving combat situations. The multiple components of the FTC addon are designed to restore certain information to the game interface which many gamers may feel is missing from the default minimalistic UI.

The addon is still in active development by Atropos, and will hopefully continue to evolve and improve during the coming weeks and months. If you are a fan of the addon, keep an eye on the main addon page on Tamriel Foundry to ensure you always have the latest version.

FTC Components

Foundry Tactical Combat has six primary components which are each optionally configurable. All UI elements added by FTC can be disabled or repositioned to suit your preferences. Additionally, Foundry Tactical Combat is fully localized for French and German client versions!

Unit Frames – FTC Unit Frames refers to the display of attribute bars and other information pertaining to yourself, your target, and your group members. The FTC frames are designed to be lightweight and informative. The frames show numerical values for your resources and damage shielding, as well as visual indicators for active HoT and DoT effects, your target’s exceute threshold, and more. The unit frames can have a rich set of aesthetic customization options allowing you to achieve the exact look that fits your UI style.

Active Buff Tracking – The Buff Tracking component of FTC displays a configurable list of icons representing the known buff and debuff effects that are currently affecting your character. The ESO addon API does not provide this information for buffs with durations shorter than 30 seconds, but FTC uses an intelligent combination of detection mechanisms to carefully approximate your inventory of active effects. This knowledge can help you make more informed combat decisions, improve your resource management, and optimize your ability rotation.

Combat Log – Foundry Tactical Combat incorporates a text-based combat log which records a history of combat events so that you can review the details of recent encounters. The combat log by default alternates visibility with the ESO chat tab, but can be detached and positioned wherever you desire on-screen. An optional keybinding can be used to quickly toggle the visibility of the combat log.

Scrolling Combat Text – The FTC Scrolling Combat Text component enables real-time display of damage and healing values as they occur in combat as well as a helpful Combat Alerts component that warns your character immediately when significant combat events occur. FTC’s combat text displays the name and icon (when possible) for known sources of damage as well as useful indicators for damage avoidance through shielding, blocking, or dodging. The display style and format of scrolling combat text events can be customized in the settings menu.

Damage Statistics – The Damage Statistics component adds analytical tools to help you examine and improve your combat performance. While in-combat a small DPS meter tracks the length of your current encounter, your cumulative damage-per-second, and your cumulative healing-per-second throughout the fight. After combat has concluded, you can open a full Damage Report which details the composition of your damage and healing by target. These statitics can be linked to your party members in chat using a configurable keybinding or by clicking on the chat icons in the damage report.

Advanced Hotbar – The Advanced Hotbar component improves the default ESO action bar by adding some additional information that is useful in combat. Your current Ultimate pool and your percentage towards the next Ultimate activation is displayed as well as a visual glow indicator behind the ultimate itself which indicates that you are currently generating additional Ultimate in combat. The Advanced Hotbar component also adds an explicit potion cooldown timer so you can know exactly when you will be able to use your next consumable item.

Installation Instructions
To install Foundry Tactical Combat follow these steps. FTC is also supported by Minion, an automated ESO addon management utility.

1) Download FTC_Current.zip to a location of your choosing.
2) Extract the .zip archive into your ESO addons folder found in My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons/ for Windows users, or Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons. for OS X.
3) You should now have a folder inside Addons named “FoundryTacticalCombat” which contains the addon files.
4) Launch The Elder Scrolls Online. FTC should be automatically enabled. If not, go to the Add-Ons section of the game menu and make sure that the box beside Foundry Tactical Combat is checked.
5) Access the FTC configuration settings by navigating in-game to Settings -> Add-Ons -> FTC, or by simply typing “/ftc” into chat.

Hey @JaPeMo, most of the issues you mention are resolved in what will be the next release version of FTC!

@SilverWF I hope to have the "long buffs" location be a configurable option in the next version.

@Cairenn, I may do group frames eventually but my biggest priority is to polish and improve the existing components in time for ESO launch. I think in the short term, using another addon for improved group frames is probably your best bet.

Regarding the default target health bar, the only reason I still left it in was in the current (released) version of the addon there is certain information that is contained in the target frame that wasn't conveyed by my own unit frames.

Once I feel like the FTC unit frames are a complete replacement for the default ZOS ones, I'll remove the target health bar completely.

Hey Atropos,

Loving it so far. I love love love the HUD so far, but I do have a couple requests for you, if possible:
  • Any chance of getting party member frames to match the player & target ones? As well as having them moveable the same, too?
  • Is there any way to hide the default target bar at the top of the screen?

Mate, please move long buffs from the right-bottom corner - there is place for lott addons!

Maybe I am dumb, but is there a way to disable the health bars but keep the scrolling combat text? I tried disabling everything in the settings, but that didn't do it.

EDIT: I am dumb, /reloadui derp.

Hey everyone, glad that you are enjoying using FTC during the beta weekend. The version of FTC that will be published before Early Access starts will have MUCH improved functionality for moving elements around!

I know it kinda sucks in this version of FTC, it was kinda a quick hack job that I did to get things movable in the first place.

There's a lot of other new features coming as well, including:
  • SCT Clustering
  • Improved buff tracking
  • Horse stamina
  • Damage shield tracking
  • Mini target-of-target
  • Better settings customization
  • Improved character sheet

Thank you all for the continued feedback, and I hope you'll try the new version of FTC when it becomes available!

Moving Player and Target Frames

I've seen this questions asked multiple times in different places but no one ever seems to have an answer.

How would one go about moving the player and target frames?

When entering cursor mode by hitting the "." key in ESO those frames disappear, so they cannot be moved at that time. The only other mode is crosshair mode not allowing them to be moved. It doesnt matter if its set to lock or unlock in /ftc they still poof in cursor mode, which is where I am able to move chat and other addons frames.

Moving UI Objects

Is it possible for you to have it set grey transparent boxes around the movable areas whenever you select to unlock the unitframes?

I've been testing the mod tonight .. it's great. A couple of things might need to be looked at - dragging stuff isn't very easy at all, and it would be useful to do more with the scrolling combat text. Other than that, it's great and I'll definitely be keeping it. Keep up the good work.

I found when I have this enabled, I can hit ESC once... once I exit that menu, I can never go back into it again.

Also, How does one move the frames with the mouse unlocked if one cannot see them? I was unable to move the target frame...

OK interesting thing I noticed using this.

And friend and myself were doing a dungeon and I noticed that the ingame health bar said he had 160 health. However, the health bar for FTC said he had 253 health. Similarly he said my health bar said 300 something health while FTC's stats said I had 533. Why the discrepency?

first of all thanks for this addons, it works very well

I still hope that there will be a way to highlight the party leader ingame, changing the nameplate style or changing the party member "tick over head" color or via "target_party_ally" ( I read something like this in the wiki )

at this time does not seem to be possible

But to help people know where the party leader is, we can match the name of the target and if it is the party leader name an unobtrusive image may appear in center of screen near the viewfinder. So I can move the viewfinder and not having to read the names to find my goal, a appear

so you can easly declare a new variable like

Code:
FTC.OverlayCommander = nil -- to handle the image
FTC.selectedCommander -- to set actual commander name
create an option screen to select party commander, different from party leader

then inizialize the image hidden

Code:
FTC.OverlayCommander = FTC.UI.Texture( "FTC_Overlay_Commander_Icon"..i , GuiRoot , {30,30} , {CENTER,CENTER,0,0} , "ourTexture.dds" , true )
and then when EVENT_TARGET_CHANGED
Code:
if( FTC.target.name == FTC.selectedCommander ) then
		FTC.OverlayCommander:SetHidden(false)
else
		FTC.OverlayCommander:SetHidden(true)
end
but i know you prefer this way

Code:
FTC.OverlayCommander:SetHidden(FTC.target.name ~= FTC.selectedCommander)
ps. sometimes we are unable to move the target bar interface, could you please add the textfield setting for your TargetFrameX and TargetFrameY stored variables, so we can set them manually.

Hello. Any ideas why flat dmg doesn't work in pvp?
I mean you can see your output damage versus players but not your incoming damage.
With NCP it works

Also it will be awesome if I can disable or enable tooltips on messages like "Low stamina" and change placeholder for this. Same for flat damage.

Hi Lyeos, as a fellow developer you probably understand that the most helpful type of bug report is one which actually explains the problem. I'm not 100% sure what issue you're having, but I suspect it will be resolved in the next version of FTC (if ZOS doesn't nuke everything).

I've been re-structuring the addons to do some things quite differently.
