SpentSkillPoints  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.22
by: Shinni, TemporalPersonage
This addon displays the amount of already spent skill points for each category/skill line. Nothing necessary but it saves some time because you don't have to count by yourself.

If you like fancy colors, you can toggle the color mode via /ssp_color.
The spent skill points and the skill line's rank will then be displayed red->yellow->green.
Green means every perk skilled/rank is 50, red means no perk skilled/rank is 1.

It would help massively in some situations, especially for werewolf and vampire people who have lost skillpoints, and one of the previous maintenance's where people lost all of their skill points, and a screenshot with this addon could save so much anguish.

I like the basic idea as I was just thinking about something to ease the respec of a character.

I have two ideas to improve usage:
  • allow current skill points (and champion points?) to be saved: per character/account-wide, with a freely choosable name (this could be in the skill/champion points window as well as in the respec window just before someone does a respec)
    -
  • make recent settings/spent points of every skill (champion points) available in the characters skillpoint window (champion points window) by choosing a saved set (choosable by dropdown or a list list of saved sets attached to the skill window) - this would greatly help when respeccing only parts of a given skill

The unique skills for a class would of course only be shown when classes (current char & saved set) match, same applies to special skills like vampire/werewolf.

A plus would be if the old morphs would also be listed for a skill.

A killer feature would be a button to put exactly the spent points from the currently selected old set in a given skill (maybe even including the morphs as well)... that is, if automatically putting points in a skill (and potentially morph it as well) is possible at all

Is this description somehow understandable?

EDIT:
I have made an image to easier visualize it

Anyone know why My SkyShards screen now say 199/381 for Skyshards where it used to say 0/3, 1/3, 2/3. That was so handy knowing how many more I needed to find for a skill point. Now I have to do fecking math and divide 381 by 3!

I didn't ask if it was this addon, I asked if anyone knew why it said that now. IE: What's fecking with this addon?

Morrowind error

Looks like morrowind update throwing an error with SpentKillPoints:

Code:
user:/AddOns/SpentSkillPoints/SpentSkillPointsUI.lua:25: attempt to index a nil value
stack traceback:
    user:/AddOns/SpentSkillPoints/SpentSkillPointsUI.lua:25: in function '(main chunk)'
EDIT: I commented out line 25 in the SpentSkillPointsUI.lua and it removes the error and still works to show what was spent on skills. However I think this affects future skill points spent so it might break something else.

Hopefully someone who knows more about lua can help provide a proper fix.

Morrowind Fix

Thank you very much for the quick Morrowind Fix

Not related to the update: I was wondering if the Skyshard Info "(0/3), (1/3), (2/3)" is still available somewhere. It is not showing for me for quite some time.

That is an option of the Skyshards addon I believe.

Totals wrong..

Hi. I just noticed that the crafting (and maybe other) totals are not adding up correctly. For instance if I manually add up the passives for, say, woodworking it comes to a different number than the one this addon displays. it seems to be out by 1,2 or 3 depending which skill I looked at. Any ideas?

Al the best and thanks for your work

This is just related to crafting. Some points are assigned by the game as default and are not available to a player for redistribution.

Therefore this addon "spent skill points" reports the number of points that 'you' have assigned and correctly does not include game assigned points.

Hope this helps

While this addon is very useful in tracking spent skill points does anyone know of a means for finding out how many skill points are available to you in the game?

Variables would be DLC's, ESO+, Morrowind, choice at the end of the Mages Quest Line.

If something like that was included in this addon then you might see something like,

Skill Points 2/326(Max 391)

(btw I think the max is more than 400 but not sure)

Maybe I just need work it out and add them all up by hand

Thanks
