Inventory Grid View  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.0.9.4
by: Randactyl, ingeniousclown, Sharlikran
Replace your default inventory's list view with a more compact grid view! The default list view shows 11-12 items at a time (in my case), so it can become a pain to navigate your inventory.

Grid view sacrifices detailed information for more pictures. Sometimes you want the detailed information, so I've included a keybind that will toggle the grid on and off.

Features:
  • Grid view for your main inventory, your bank, your guild bank, your craft bag, NPC's stores, AND the buyback screen!
  • Toggle grid view on and off! Useful for when you need to scan with more information.
  • Customizable grid size.
  • Four default skins to choose from, with more available for download.
  • Authors can submit their own skins for download. (See Inventory Grid View Skin Template for details.)
  • Offsets item tooltips so they do not cover up the grid (can be turned off).
  • Set scale of item icon animation.
  • Works with Advanced Filters and other inventory addons such as Item Saver and AlphaGear!

Special thanks to:
  • Rushmik, Tonyleila - included extra skin choices

-Updated to the most recent revision of LAM.

-Settings window added under SETTINGS menu!
-Added a real icon to toggle grid view and moved it to the upper left-hand corner of the inventory window.
-Added a custom mouse-over background for the grid view that is colored by the rarity of the item. This is still colored when the outline is turned off.
-Removed the slash commands. Now you can use the SETTINGS menu.
-Added a slider to customize the size of the icons in the grid.
-Fixed a bug where the grid wasn't properly calculating the spacing between grid icons. The grid should now fill the window.

v0.4.3
-Fixed a typo that made the guild bank not work.

v0.4.2
-Fixed an issue where I was indexing the bags with the wrong global constant. As a result, the guild bank should now be grid view-able and the scrolling should now work correctly in the bank.

v0.4
-Fixed another issue with slots not reverting to list view
-Added compatibility for my new mod, Research Assistant

v0.3
-Integrated the grid view to the player bank and guild bank.
-Fixed issue where some slots wouldn't convert back to list view
-Cleaned up the code just a little bit :)

v0.21
-Updated API version so it won't say "out of date" anymore

v0.2
-Added rarity outline colors to the grid view (I hope)
-Added slash command "/inventorygridview outlines" to toggle outlines
-Added saved vars to keep track of your grid view and outline settings
-Removed the changelog from the zip because it was being read as another add-on (lol)

v0.12
-Fixed filter swapping.

v0.11
-Added a parent folder to the zip

v0.1
-Initial release

Just a quick question - I have the same issue with weapon swap even if this addon is disabled. Right now I'm trying to find out which addon causes this issue. I suspect InventoryInsight, but I do not have it confirmed yet. Do you use Vicster's InventoryInsight?

BTW in my case this slash command solves the issue:
Code:
/script ComparativeTooltip1:SetHidden(true)
What exactly does that slash command do? Just in case it doesn't resolve someone's issue, want to make sure I can reverse it (obviously just use the same command with 'false' instead). Still would like to know what it hides...

And is it the consensus that it IS this add-on that is causing the error, or is it Vicster's? I have the Inventory Insight add-on like many of you...
Just a quick tip: anything you do with /script will be reversible with a quick /reloadui

All that does is set the "IsHidden" attribute for the control named ComparativeTooltip1 to true. My guess is that at some point it isn't truly "hidden" after using it at some point, because it started out as hidden on a fresh load...

Also, I don't think it is either IGV or Vicster's II that is causing the problem. I am convinced that it is ZO's fault. (But an AddGold stack IS my fault for the most part... but as I said early, me fixing that won't completely fix the error)

Yes, I've got InventoryInsight installed. I didn't have the issue with the addon disabled, but I didn't leave it disabled for very long. I'll test it again.

Thanks for the slash command. I'll give it a try.

Here's the thing, guys. A lot of us in the ESOUIDev IRC have been talking over this and we've begun to think that this is more of an issue on ZOS's end, possibly exacerbated by add-ons.

Yes, the stack (sometimes) shows more often when Grid View is on and installed, and yes my add-on shows up in the stack. Yes, I do need another nil-check or two in my code, but this will not fix the error completely. There are plenty of users that are experiencing this error that do not use this add-on, but unfortunately that's the only concrete information we actually have.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has all caused. I will push a fix soon to the part that IS my fault, but I am really busy lately so you probably won't see it until the weekend.

Just a headup, got this bug as well, going randomly (and always at the worst times), but I noticed my staves (I use destruction staff and healing staff) were depleted... well, the enchant on it.
1 is totally depleted, the other is like "1 pixel" left in the bar... could this be related to the bug ? Wasn't one of these addons tracking the enchantment's magicka left ?
I know 0 != nil, but there might be a possibility something weird is up with this...

P.S. : I recharged both, had no problem for a while... did a few dungeons runs, and while my healing staff was pretty much charged(80%+) my destruction staff was already half worn out... and bam it happened again...
Might or might not be related to "enchant magicka left"-stuff in the addon.
Or maybe something like opening the inventory and hovering above the items actually do something (maybe clear a flag somewhere...)

Error when swapping weapons

I get the same kind of error as the other players. Occasionally, when swapping weapons, I get the UI Error. I wanted to note that I am using dual-wield and bow. So the user that mentioned the specific weapons possibly having something to do with it, I disagree. I know you are looking into this, I just wanted to let you know what is happening on my end. Thanks for the add-on, and for fixing this!

But you could be right with Inventory Item Borders: There was an update to v1.2 recently:

I'll give it a try and revert back to v1.1 of Inventory Item Borders.

Edit:
No, reverting to v1.1 does not fix the issue.
Yeah I have to update my earlier findings, its eventually stopped working with trying two of the same type of load outs (1h+shield in both sets). It also stopped working eventually after turning off inventory item borders, so that's not it. We are ruling things out at least.

Update: I have now from the list only [Inventory Item Borders] and [Item Saver] on. I still have [Advanced Filters], [Wykkyd's Framework], and [Wykkyd's Immersion] all on. Unmentioned before, I also have [Show Motifs] as far as item related go. So I've turned off [Craft Compare], [Inventory Insight], and [Wykkyd's Outfitter].

No issues today so far, but I will update later and then try enabling some of them again to narrow down.

I have equipped a two-handed mace in one slot and a bow in the other one - so for me it's not the issue of having a two-handed weapon in one slot and one-handed + shield in the other one.

But you could be right with Inventory Item Borders: There was an update to v1.2 recently:
Added option to enable an alternative method of showing what the active weapon set is.
I'll give it a try and revert back to v1.1 of Inventory Item Borders.

Edit:
No, reverting to v1.1 does not fix the issue.

It doesn't occur everytime. Sometimes it occurs some minutes after login, sometimes I can play and fight several hours, including switching weapons, without any errors.
After the error occured, it can be, that the error disappears after a while regardless of a loading screen or a reloadui.
I couldn't force to reproduce the issue - it occured randomly.

The weapons switch without problems, only the error popup arranges to kill me ;-)

I have installed the following addons, which affect the equip, item tooltip or inventory:
*Craft Compare
*Crafting Material Level Display
*Craft Store
*Equipment Level
*Inventory Grid View
*Inventoty Insight
*Inventoty Item Borders
*Inventoty Mod
*Item Saver
*Loot Drop (continued, all in one)
*Wykkyd Framework incl. Outfitter
*Weapon Charge Alert
I've been getting this error report a lot lately, so I'll be tackling it sometime this week. Sorry I can't get to it sooner... Life and stuff
I don't use grid view, but I found this post from searching for the error message. The addons I have in common from the other poster are:

Craft Compare
Inventory Insight
Inventory Item Borders
Item Saver
Wykkyd Framework and Outfitter

I will let you know if I narrow it down or track the issue.

My error is slightly different, but its the same end line which is the function the others are calling as you traverse the stack.

Mine is...
Code:
EsoUI/Ingame/Inventory/InventorySlot.lua:226: attempt to index a nil value
stack traceback:
EsoUI/Ingame/Inventory/InventorySlot.lua:226: in function 'GetInventorySlotComponents'
EsoUI/Ingame/Inventory/InventorySlot.lua:1972: in function 'ZO_InventorySlot_OnMouseEnter'
EsoUI/Ingame/Inventory/InventorySlot.lua:2035: in function 'OnActiveWeaponPairChanged'
edit 1: seems to be an issue with having two 1h weapons/shield in one slot and one two-handed in the other slot, so somewhere a function call is expecting 2 values and one is nil. The error goes away when I equip a 2h weapon in both slots or two 1h or shield in both slots. So a staff in one and a greatsword in the other words, a pair of daggers in one and a sword + shield in the other works, but a greatsword in one and a sword + shield in the other causes the error to come back. (This is once the error has started happening without doing any reloadui or anything to try to get rid of it, but changing weapons and swapping again to see what happens).

The first function call that I can find so far that is obvious would be from Inventory Item Borders, but I haven't updated it recently. Have any of your mods added support for that mod recently?

InventoryItemBorders.lua:43
Code:
local activeWeaponSet = ZO_CharacterWeaponSwap.activeWeaponPair
edit 2: having 1h sword + shield in both sets isn't stopping it now after playing for a while.

I turned off inventory item borders, and its gone again, but we'll see if it comes back again.

Unless I forgot to update the manifest (again), that's a bug with Minion and has little-to-nothing to do with this add-on.
Ahh okay! Just thought I'd share it anyway!
