Weapon Charge Alert  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.1.24
by: katkat42, Harven, ingeniousclown
I'm always one to forget to check on the charge level of my weapon(s) while I play, so I made this add-on to do that for me.

When your weapons reach a customizable charge percentage, a little alert will show up with a color indicating just how badly you need to charge it!

While the window is showing, you can click on your weapon to instantly open the charge window for that weapon.

Commands:
/wca or /weaponchargealert
"lock" - lock the window (and hide it if necessary)
"unlock" - unlock the window and unhide it so you can move it around

example:
"/wca unlock"

Now soliciting German and French translations of the Settings page!

If you like ingeniousclown's add-ons, why not consider donating? Remember that this is IN NO WAY REQUIRED to enjoy these add-ons! Just think of it as an extra way to say "Hey man, I like what you've done. Can I buy you a beer?"

If you want to send appreciation to the current maintainer, perhaps you'd consider sending in-game gold to @katkat42 on NA? Again, it's NOT REQUIRED by ANY stretch of the imagination; it's just a way to say "Hey, I like your work. Can I buy you a Mountain Lager?"

That's an interesting idea. I'll look at it once I'm done with this round of Research Assistant.

And maward, I've noticed that too, and I'll look at that as well.

Optional Idea

I would use this addon, if you could add the option to have an auto refill from gems you have in your inventory.

EG if weapon is lvl x and you have a valid gem, and it needs charging, then auto charge for you.

Would be very handy especially for those in PVP like me that carry loads of gems but always forget to recharge.

add it in as an optional settings item, where people can select to auto refill if gems are in inventory for example

Thanks

Awesome Addon :)

Can you please make it so the black background is transparent... or at least half the length?
Not the icon overlay, the background underlay...

Thanks!!!

Would be great if we could set when the alerts happen.

Personally I'd rather know just when it ran out or right before it runs out (1-5%) that way I can the most uses possible out of recharging. For me I find it kind of annoying to see the icon at 25% as that doesn't go to 0 so quick and using grand soul gems at that mark is wasteful.
I suppose this could do with an update for a settings menu.

I believe the logic I wrote around this add-on already supports this, I just don't have it wrapped for editing. You might be able to manually tweak the saved variables file in the meantime.

That might be your best bet, because this update may be a couple weeks out.
Noticed it was updated and went straight to the settings and found where I could set to only be notified when it was out of charges. Thanks for the change, much appreciated!

I do have a suggestion though. It would be nice to be able to make just the background transparent. This way we only see something on our screen when a weapon needs charging.
At already does... just lock it and it will be invisible until your weapon is low enough.
Ah, ok. I have to lock it. No wonder. Thanks!

The menu was kind of necessary for many of the customization features while eliminating the need for a dozen different chat commands. Seerah is planning a rewrite of the menu lib this summer so maybe fixing the crowded menus is on her list? I have no idea, but it is a common complaint.

I don't get it. For player sthat use a lot of addons, everytime another very simple addon does this it's just annoying, yet another I have to add to my list of do not update.

I get there is an addon that lets us clear up our cluttered settings menu, but it has the issue of requireing manual sorting to hide stuff (where its plain automatic mode is a cleaner alphabetical mode).

and yea ingeniousclown you have a lot of very great addons, so you at least are definetely worthy of a spot in my list I guess.. But please just do "ingeniousclowns addons" and not 6 seperate entries.
Settings menu is always better then chat commands! What do you do when you want to change something: Rember whats the addons name, go on ESOUI, search for addon, check how the chat commands were.

How do you remember all the Authors names and what addons they made? I think its good if the addons have nothing to do with each other they shoud not show up in one menu. I woud even support if addons from differen Authors with simmilar purpose had the same options menu: Like all map modifing addons in one menu: Minimap, HarvestMap, skyshards ...

I have singel addons from:
Vicster's, Wykkyd, Ak0's, Garkin's, Haven's, Luminary
And from all of them I just have 1 AddOn! For me its easier to search for an AddOn name then always getting confused from what author what addon is again.. Maybe a search bar in the addon options menu woud be a good idea.
