Hotep® Master Merchant Extender (DISCONTINUED)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.0
by: tomtomhotep [More]
This add-on requires Master Merchant.
You need to have Master Merchant installed and enabled to use this add-on.

I think everyone agrees that the only deficiency of Master Merchant is that it can only scan the guilds to which you belong. This add-on compensates for that limitation.

Do you try to use MM to know what prices your items are selling for, only to find out you have no data, or too little data to get a good average?

What do you do then? You beg your guildies for a price check, and hope some of them answer you with more up-to-date average prices?

Well now that process can be automated! This add-on lets you automatically call for a price-check on your current chat channel, or broadcast it to all of your guild channels.

Everyone else running this add-on will automatically respond on that chat channel with their MM data for the item. This add-on will then automatically read that data from chat, and PERMANENTLY average all of that data into your MM data, so a much more accurate average price will be displayed on your item's tooltip.

In this way, everyone using this add-on will build up a more comprehensive database of sale prices, not just prices from the guilds you belong to.

Usage:

This add-on is used with slash commands:

Type: /hotep pc, then a space, then link your item to chat, then press enter. So your command would look like:
/hotep pc [itemlink]
pc stands for price check, and will use your currently selected chat channel. To broadcast to all of your guilds, type pcguilds instead of pc

/hotep by itself will give you help.

The zip file actually contains 17 add-ons: one main add-on and 16 "mule" add-ons. (Just like Master Merchant)

Disclaimer:

This add-on is not affiliated with, endorsed, created, or maintained by the author(s) of Master Merchant. It is an original creation of @tomtomhotep. It contains absolutely no code from Master Merchant. It interfaces with the MM add-on by accessing that add-on's global table.

1)
UserA is member of guild A // Guild A have such info about X: 10 sales / 100 average
UserB is member of guild B // Guild B have such info about X: 10 sales / 50 average

2)
UserA asking UserB to share info about X
Query done and now UserA info looks like this: 20 sales / 75 average

It seems all working fine, but UserA asked UserB about good X one more time...
3)
and now UserA info looks like: 30 sales / 66.66 average (which isn't right)

4)
You can loop step 3 many times increasing total sales count and pooling average price far away from true value
Aww, Fiddlebumbers! FATAL FLAW. And I cannot resolve it.

Sorry folks, I didn't have anyone to test it extensively with.

You are correct, sir!

oops. I didn't mean to include my "MM" folder in the zip file. That will be fixed when I re-upload today with new API #.

BTW, Sorry for the late reply, but this website never sent me an email notification that you posted a comment, and I am subscribed!

Addon not found

Newk is right. If you add the addon with Minion it won't show up in your addon list in game. To fix this you need to go to the folder where your addons are stored. For example mine is in.

C:\Users\myname\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns

Here you will find a folder named MM. Just cut the folders from inside MM and paste them into your AddOns folder. This will let the game recognize the addon.

Otherwise very cool addon.
Thanks

Intersting, but doesn't seam to work.
I type in /hotep pc then link my item, but nothing posts in the guild chat.
Plus the other party has to have this addon for it to "talk" to eachother.

Would love to just right click on someones chat post and "Import to MM"

I'm using Price Tracker addon to make up for the missing data.

Also I noticed MM does not auto update pricing database when I "see" an item while searching.
MM said it had no data on an item but I did a search in guild store, found it, but MM still said no data.
Where Price Tracker updated right away displaying seen 3 times for XXXXX.

Not sure whats going on there.

The other concern I'd have is that I have outlier prices turned off on my MM data, but not everyone does, and especially with new items those outliers can be quite drastic... This just pulls the average even if it's an average of one sale and says it's as good as my weighted averages from my guilds with ten sales? Or am I misunderstanding the way it would work?
