GuildGoldDeposits-discontinued
Version: 2.6.1
by: ziggr [More]
*** no longer supported ***

Want to know which guild members donated gold to the guild this week?
Using that information to drive a weekly guild raffle?

This add-on scans guild bank history, then saves all gold deposits to a SavedVariables file. It can then convert that SavedVariables file to a CSV comma-separated-value file suitable for import into a spreadsheet.
  1. Click "Save Data Now" button. Add-on will fetch Guild Bank history from ESO's server and note all gold deposits.
  2. Log out (or relog). ESO will then save data, writing SavedVariables/GuildGoldDeposits.lua.
  3. From a terminal window, run
    % cd ~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns/GuildGoldDeposits
    % lua GuildGoldDeposits_to_csv.lua
    This creates SavedVariables/GuildGoldDeposits.csv
  4. Import GuildGoldDeposits.csv into a spreadsheet.

GuildGoldDeposits_to_csv.lua requires that you have downloaded and installed a standalone Lua interpreter, presumably from lua.org.

2017-01-21: I do not plan on updating this add-on for 2.7 Homestead. Consider using GuildBankLedger instead. It does everything that this add-on does, and more. I will move this to "discontinued" later in 2017.
2.6.1 2016-10-05
  • Increment API version for ESO 2.6 (One Tamriel). No other changes.

2.5.1 2016-08-06
  • Increment API version for ESO 2.5 (Shadows of the Hist). No other changes.

2.4.1 2016-05-31
  • Increment API version for ESO 2.4 (Dark Brotherhood). No other changes.

2.3.7.2 2016-03-27
  • No longer retain older history even after the ESO server forgets it. This never worked well and would too often mysteriously not save recent history.
  • After done fetching from server, display in UI most recent deposits, then write "relog to write file" in chat window. I kept forgetting to relog and then wondered why no new data was showing up.

2.3.5.1 2016-03-13
  • Update ESO API to latest version.
  • Retain older history even after the ESO server forgets it.

Ayep. The new Guild history API has driven the final nail in the coffin for all my old guild history and management add-ons. They had a good run. Served us well. Time for them to rest.

I won't be updating GuildGoldDeposits for Update 23/5.1.0/API 100028/Scalebreaker. Sorry.

Really nice addon, just add to put a counter on the GuildGoldDeposits:ServerDataPoll so it wouldn't go through all the history (going through all the bank history would disconnect me due to spam) and it was good to go.

Also, you don't need to log out, /reloadui also populates the savedVariables file.

What's a "standalone LUA interpreter", the thing I apparently need to use this. Can you just build it into your addon for us, or provide a link or something? I'm not a LUA programmer and have no idea what you're talking about here or wanting us to do so this addon works...somehow.

GuildGoldDeposits_to_csv.lua requires that you have downloaded and installed a standalone Lua interpreter, presumably from lua.org.

Yeah, I really like your raffle mods. If we did our raffles in-game then your mods would be perfect and I would not have started mine.

But our guild likes to export all the "ticket purchase" guild bank deposits to a Google Doc spreadsheet. We track overall donations over time. We also use that spreadsheet to add a few bonus tickets and such, and then use that to feed into other more graphic tools. The actual raffle draw is run from outside of ESO, on some web-based randomizer graphics. It's quite pretty and fun, and we like it enough to stick with it, even though that means a lot more work on our part because we can't use your mods.

I see that Raffle Unlimited saves its data to SavedVariables, too. I'll have to check it out. We mostly need to know Gold Deposits not Tickets Bought, but maybe that's close enough. I'm not looking forward to adding a "pick up where you last left off" ability to start tracking more than the 10 days kept on the server.

Plus I'm not convinced that my Add-On will ever be all that useful. It might have served solely as a "My First Add-On" learning exercise. ^_^

I'm just curious how this would benefit anyone for raffles more than what Raffle Gold or Raffle Unlimited currently is able to do. Both of those offer in-game raffle aspects, where you can look up entry numbers and search by username, as well as a tool to convert the information for use on a website, which of course the information could be copied and pasted into a spreadsheet.
