Sorcerer Helper
An addon for sorcerers that reminds you to keep your minions and buffs up, alerts you with a countdown when Crystal Fragments proc, and countdown for quite a few of your abilities with a duration.
Available for non-Sorcs, but currently only for common skills (no class skills except for Sorcerers yet).


Features
  • Alerts and Procs display a countdown of seconds remaining
  • Two display modes:
    • Two types of icons: Reminders (buffs) and Alerts & Procs, in two different windows
    • In slot order, for example it can be placed just above the skill bar
  • Scaleable icon sizes, for example alert icons twice the size of reminder icons
  • All abilities (buffs, procs & alerts) can be individually turned on or off
  • Option to hide when in menus
  • Option to show repositioning help, otherwise the position is locked
  • Selectable if it should load for non-sorcerer characters
  • Selectable if settings should be account wide (like today) or for each character (new in 2.5.1)

Controls
  • Set "Show repositioning help" to ON in the settings
  • Left-click and drag to reposition the windows
  • Set "Show repositioning help" to OFF in the settings to get rid of the repositioning windows and lock the icons

Known Issues
  • Expert Hunter countdown doesn't extend (as the actual ability do)
  • Daedric Curse timer tracks from when it was cast, not from when it affects the target. As such, it might be off by a second or two depending on the distance to the target.
  • Timers need fine-tuning, for example some now depend also on skill rank
  • Ligtning Splash does not do a good job to detect when the cast is aborted and usually display countdown anyway
  • If you use redefine keys to mouse buttons, the abilities that is solely detected by the key detection routine will fail to be detected
  • Sometimes at load of new scene or mount/dismount, a timer might display in large icon. Remedy is to toogle the ability
  • There is a small memory leak, so after some time you might have to give command /RELOADUI to clear it out.

Possible Future Features
  • More abilities with a duration
  • Modify Mage's Fury depending on targets health above/below 20%
  • Display countdowns in time order, i.e. 1 sec left before the one with 2 sec left
  • Add class skills for non-sorcerers, for example:
    • Show proc for Nightblade assasins Merciful Resolve (similar to Crystal Fragments)
  • Summoned creature HP display (currently not possible as far as I know due to limitations in the game API)
  • Summoned pets now have abilities/buffs that can be activated. If game API allows tracking of this on the pets (I have some doubts) these could also be shown with a timer kind of like how daedric curse works. For example:
    • Familiar Damage Pulse (4 sec PBAOE)
    • Empower Twilight Tormentor (15 second 50% damage buff to pet)
  • Cosmetic issue when you scale the icons to 100%, you can see the border frame. If you scale it bigger, you can't see this any more. Maybe add an option to show/hide border and let it scale with the ability icon size.

Health of summoned minion

Could you PLEASE make an option to show your minion HP?
Or make a seperate addon for it?
In 1.6 summoners will get big and much people need this!
I hope you can do this for all the sorcs out there
There is no way I know of that allows to show stats/info about any other creature, EXCEPT when it is in the "target" of the mouse/reticle/crosshair.
The API allws me to find info about unitTag, which can be any of the following: "player","reticleover" ( your target ), "reticleovertarget" ( target of your target ), "group1 .. group24", "interact" ( NPC you interact with )

I think is to discourage bots and too powerful combat add-ons, but in this case I would love to have something like "pet1 .. pet5" or something.

Another way might be to somehow track damage to the summoned, but I've not explored that area yet. Or maybe monitor both target and target-of-target to catch staus of your minion, but it will be sporadic at best and not trustworthy.

Anyone with ideas how to find health of summoned minion is VERY welcome to share it!!!

Interesting. At least the alert for Crystal Fragments works for me. Can you help me get some more info to work with:

Q1. Just to exclude the obvious (which you likely already have done, but I have to ask):
Can you check the Settings and make sure that the alerts are On?

Q2. To exclude the less obvious (and it's bit of a pain):
Would it be possible for you to disable all other add-ons and try?

Q3. Do the summoning reminders work properly?

When I use crit surge nothing seems to happen. (no pop-up).

Thanks again for reporting problem. There proved to be some important changes in Update 6 that my "Quality Assurance Department" (me) had missed entirely. Sorry for taking so long to fix.
I think the uploaded 2.0.0 works much better, but please tell if you find more problems.

If you happen to find the time for it, a way to lock the alerts and reminders on the screen, so you don't accidentally move them when doing stuff with your mouse would be greatly appreciated. Other then that i simply can not sorc without this addon. ;-)

It seems that crystal shards (instand cast) doesnt pop up. I do hear a sound when its activated.

It seems that in the FTC addon it is also removed? perhaps got something to do with the update.

In the uploaded 2.0.1 you can now lock the alert and reminder windows to avoid accidents.

For my sorc it does show when Crystal Fragments procs, so it does work at least in some circumstances. (You did remember to morph Chrystal Shard when you allocated points after the Update 6, didn't you?).

In the now uploaded 2.0.1 I moved the detection so it tries to detect the proc more frequently. Maybe it helped?

If not, can you give me some more info to help me debug it? (Only use this add-on, make sure it is enabled in settings, make sure the Alert window has a good visible position, validate that you really see the hands start glowing when it procs, etc)

I've tried a few ways to get info about the pets, but the game is very restrictive with that in the API, I guess they want to avoid bots. I can get health when it is the target, but so can you as the user.
Maybe there are other ways, or indirect ways, but I need some help or suggestions.

For the ward I might at least detect when it is cast, and start a countdown. I'll look into it.
