Deome's Settings Profiles Updated by BSKCorp  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.11
by: BSKCorp [More]
Update 1.11 - Updated for Summerset DLC. Not fully tested yet. Let me know if it breaks.

**This first of all is a simple fix to get this addon to work with the latest ESo Patches. I haven't changed the main coding or anything. Only thing I have done is removed the strings that are no longer used in the Settings due to the changes of the recent patches.** - BSKCorp

I like to first thank Deome for first creating this mod and to Trymi for the updates to Morrowind.

About -
Isn't it a pain in the keister every time you have to redo your Main Menu settings for a new character? This is a very, very, very simple addon that will allow you to save your settings to a profile. Profiles may then be loaded on another (ie, new) character. Now you'll never have to remember to turn on "Prevent Attacking Innocents"! Just load up your settings profile, and all your Interface, Gameplay, and Social settings will be copied to your new alt.

Currently, video, audio, and camera settings are not included in profiles.

Works now with Dragonbones DLC.
5/22/18 1.11 - Updated for Summerset

3/17/18 1.10 - Changed some internal display info for ingame (Version Info, title, etc) No Code changes.

This is what I get when trying to load a settings profile. I've tried it a few times, and even disabled all of my other mods. Saving a profile seems to work fine, but loading them onto another character does this and then nothing.

I have tried to duplicate it but getting nothing on my end. I see the one line that throws there error on your end but nothing is wrong with the string. Try deleting the ddsettings folder in the addons folder and the ddsettingsprofile.lua in the saved variables folder. Both int he Elderscrolls Online folder in My Documents.

Audio and Video are global anyway, but
any way to add Camera Settings?

Just a note, I found another addon that does this and camera settings too.

That I don't know yet. Not sure why Deome's or Trymi didnt do it to begin with. I am still learning LUA and the ESO API. Trust me I wish I did know because it is annoying to have to adjust each new char. Once I get a better understanding it is something that I will be trying. Just for now I am doing what I can to keep it updated and working for the newer versions.

First you should remove the exampleoptions.lua and the LibAddonMenu-2.0.txt from the libs folder.
No need for them as the library is called from the manifest txt of the addon.

Then:
In line 218 there is a variable "buttoN" which isn#t declared anywhere so it is nil and throws this error:
Lua Code:
  1. if profileValue ~= boolValue then
  2.         checkboxControl:GetHandler("OnClicked")(checkboxControl, button)
  3.     end

Try to change it to something like this and see if it works then:
Lua Code:
  1. if profileValue ~= boolValue then
  2.         checkboxControl:GetHandler("OnClicked")(checkboxControl)
  3.     end

Or try this:
Lua Code:
  1. if profileValue ~= boolValue then
  2.         local cbOnClickedHandler = checkboxControl:GetHandler("OnClicked")
  3.         cbOnClickedHandler(checkboxControl)
  4.     end

Thanks for the tips. Will do that. Still learning about LUA. Had a fun time just trying to get the interpreter on windows 10.

Im not understanding as I have been and am still using it without issue or errors. I'll take a closer look at your error there and see what I can do.

EDIT - By chance have you deleted the saved variable file? Try that as well as removing the mod and reinstalling it. See if the error persists. Also when does this error happen? When you load or save a profile or when it first starts up?

Newly installed this addon.

- Logged on character 1 (Templar).
- Saved profile#1 on character 1.

- Logged on character 2 (Sorc).
- Saved profile#2 on character 2.
- I can see profile#1 in the drop-down menu.
- Loaded profile#1 on character 2.
- No errors, but not sure if settings actually loaded.

- Logged on character 3 (DK).
- I can see profile#1 and #2 in the drop-down menu.
- Loaded profile#1 on character 3, and got the following error.
- Same error after reloadui and complete game restart.

Code:
user:/AddOns/ddSettingsProfiles/ddSettingsProfiles.lua:218: attempt to index a nil value
stack traceback:
