Omni Stats  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 4.0.0
by: RunningDuck, M0R
OmniStats
A transparent, always visible window that shows the stats found on the character screen.

Features
  • New! There is a new and fancy selector for the displayables in the settings panel.
  • New! The window can now be locked in place.
  • Crit Damage is now displayable. The number shown does not include the +15% provided by the backstabber CP.
  • uespLog compatibility, adding two new displayable stats - Effective Spell Damage and Effective Weapon Damage
  • Display up to 43 stats, not only the normal 12
  • Select which stats to show
  • Select how much text to describe the stat, from space-saving and cryptic, to huge tracts of display and verbose
  • Buffed stats show in green
  • Debuffed stats show in red
  • Selectable layouts: 3-rows in 2-by-2, 2-columns, horizontal, vertical
  • Option to always show max or current values for health, stamina and magicka
  • Adjustable background alpha
  • Adjustable foreground alpha
  • Scalable between 50-300%
  • Options to hide in combat or out of combat
  • Option to auto-hide when in dialogs, menus, etc
  • Keybind available to toggle window on/off
  • Experimental: Display stats of target in parallel. Note, only available in the 2-rows layout mode. It is a bit of disappointment as most stats are blocked by the game.
  • Selectable thousand delimiter (between digit 3 and 4): Space, Dot, Comma or None
  • Settings can be saved per character or account-wide
  • Refresh interval can be decreased for faster changes

Controls
  • Left-click to move the window around (position is saved globally for all your characters)
  • Right-click to reset the stats their current values (e.g. when you have levelled or equipped new gear)
  • Add keybind to toggle the window. Menu/Control/Keybindings: User Interface/OmniStats toggle on/off"

Known Issues
  • Some stats, like Armor, are not always showing all special AvA bonuses, but possibly Physical Resistance is now correct
  • Stats are reputedly not soft capped after patch 6

Possible Future Features
  • Further layout customization
  • Selectable which order to display stats (might need added code in the setting subsystem)
  • Store base stats for the two weapon slots
  • Localization

Add-ons that complements

That was a lot of stats...but interesting. I'll add it to the improvement list.
They would take some real estate on the screen. But if they were selectable it would be up to each user. I'll add that too to the improvement list.

Thanks!

I'm working on major overhaul to be able to
  • Selectable longer text in headings (easier to read but take more space): Done
  • Display more stats: Mechanism in place, but need next part or it is not user friendly
  • Selectable which stats to show
  • Extra bonus I consider: Select display order of stats

Done, and then some more!

Please check out the news in 2.0:
  • Display up to 40 stats, not only the normal 12
  • Select which stats to show
  • Select how much text to describe the stat, from space saving and cryptic, to huge tracts of display and verbose

thank you so much for continuing this addon! it is greatly appreciated!

is there any chance you could bring back the original sorting in the three row view? I thought that was particularly well organized.

it was
ma; mar; spd; wpd;
he; her; spc; wpc;
st; str; spr; arm;

thanks again for stepping in!

I've uploaded a version 2.1:
* Does the new "3 rows, 2 by 2" layout solves the issue?
* Whatever stats the games allows me to get, like health, name and unfortunately very little else, can be displayed if you enable "Show target" in the settings. As it's stil experimental, it is only available in the "2 columns" layout. Is it so useful I should enable it for the rest of the layouts?
* Are any of the additional stats especially useful (like Fire Resistance for vampires)?

wow, looks great! thanks for the quick response!

After using it extensively yesterday I have found a few bugs:
- The armor value is not calculated properly. It could be that AvA bonuses are not taken into account correctly. The Defensive Scroll II bonus gives 5% armor and on my medium armor these 5% are missing (1437 displayed, vs 1508 in reality) - just a wild guess, though, since the other AvA bonuses are taken into account properly. Also, wearing my heavy armor the difference is way off, showing 1795, while the real armor value is 2221(+223)/2020.
- Weapon damage is also off, but not by a consistent amount. Bow: 152 vs 165 (displayed vs real), 2HSword: 172 vs 187, sword: 139 vs 158, resto: 130 vs 141. I don't use the weapon power buff mundus and don't have flawless dawnbreaker on. I hope this helps.

I think it is great that you allow to show all the other values. But I think it would be even more useful if you used the layout to discern them from the standard values. The human brain is capable of grasping 3 to 6 distinct elements at the same time (put 7 equal objects on a table and most people won't be able to tell you how many objects there are without counting them first) and at the same time it uses pattern recognition to make sense of complex information patterns. That's why the original (3 rows, 2 by 2) layout is so good. It lumps similar values together in groups of three, so that the numbers are easily graspable, and it always keeps them in the same spot. The flexibility you offer with the different layouts and the option to add individual numbers, means great flexibility, but it also means users will create a new information pattern with every configuration change. This will make it increasingly difficult for the brain to quickly asses the numbers and people will end up not using the options.

My suggestion would be to offer fewer layout options (making it easier to maintain, and easier for the user to decide) and choose pre-defined ways to display groups of additional values, for example bundling resistances, combat values, idle values, etc. - so that users can turn these groups on and off - and these groups will the be layouted in a digestable way.

I hope I am communicating my thoughts clearly enough. An example for the 3 rows, 2 by 2 layout would be to have the 3 rows with the main stats on top (none of which can't be disabled), have a block of combat stats below, and then a block of resistances. And blocks would be separated by empty lines.

Another idea I had was to give users some control over the red/green coloring. For example, utility players might want to try to get to within 80% of the soft cap on every stat, and min/maxers might want to max out 2 or 3 stats, ignoring all others. Needs are rather different, depending on the build you run. But this may be too much work to implement. I am not sure the cost/benefit calculation comes out positive.

Keep up the great work and let me know if you need help debugging the bugs mentioned above. I'll be glad to help!

Hi QuadroTony,

Could you give me some more info:
* When it occured (like first thing when loaded, or when changing layout type, or first time there was a target)
* Was the target stats enabled?
* Which layout (for example 2 rows or 3 columns) did you use?
* Can you reproduce it?

I could not reproduce the fault and there was no obvious bug in the code. I will add some more protection around the offending line, but could use more info from you.

This is seems to be a bit tricky... There is no calculations like adding some values, but rather just display whatever the system returns. If there is a mismatch, then the system is using some additional info.

Spoqster, where/how did you get the real values?
It might be that there is some special mechnism in place for AvA. I've seen some indications in some forum threads.

QuadroTony, I do ask the system for Weapon Damage, but I think for many non-veteran it is very similar to Attack Power. Do you use SoftcapInfo to show the weapon damage, or some other add-on?
I think I use same API call as SoftcapInfo, and if there is a difference it is a bit weird (or more likely I do something wrong )

2.1.1 released

Changes:
  • Stats are visually grouped for easier reading
    (Thanks spoqster for suggestions)
  • Weapon Damage displays (more) correct value
(Thanks spoqster and QuadroTOny for reporting)
  • Potentially avoid an add-on crash related to target stats
