Circonians JunkIt Loot Manager  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.0
by: uladz [More]
If you think your filters are not working properly:
Hit Esc, open the controls -> keybindings, set a keybind to the JunkIt Debug Window and to the "Apply Junk filters to open inventory window".
Open the inventory with the item you think is not being junked or kept properly, open the debug window with the hotkey, and click the hotkey to apply the junk filters to the inventory. Read the message it gives you for the items to see why they are being junked or kept. If you still think something is wrong copy that message & post it on the comments page along with a description of the problem.
If you delete a character & JunkIt is still showing that the character needs items for research you can remove the deleted character by using:
Lua Code:
  1. /junkitrmchar (charname)

What does it do?
In short it manages your inventory & loot. You can set up Junk filters to automatically junk stuff or to automatically keep stuff like researchables useable by any of your characters. There are junk filters for almost every type of item in the game. It can even auto-loot for you based on those filters and leave all of the junk on the dead bodies. It can auto-repair your gear when you visit a merchant or auto-sell your junk, research tooltips tell you which characters need which researchables, research icons, ....you get the idea, it does a LOT, just read through the features below

Latest Features

FilterIt Compatability - This is not a new feature, but one I neglected to list here...If you mark any item to be saved with any "Save for xxxx" mark from my FilterIt addon then JunkIt will NOT junk that item no matter what junk filters you have turned on.
Brand New Settings Menu - Remade from scratch, should be easier to find your way around & figure out what everything does.
Keybind & Keystrip button Destroy Junk With 0 Sell Price - When pressed (with an open inventory) it will destroy all junk with 0 Sell Price. Works on your bank & inventory
Auto-Destroy Junk With 0 Sell Price - When on JunkIt will automatically destroy all junk you pick up that has 0 sell price. Includes an option to have a popup box ask you to confirm before it destroys an item.
Keybind to mark an item as junk - Hoover your mouse over an item & press the hotkey
Keybind to unmark an item as junk - Hoover your mouse over an item & press the hotkey
Keybind to apply junk filters to open inventory With an inventory open press the hotkey and JunkIt will scan your inventory Junking & UnJunking items to match your current filters (works on your backpack, bank, & guild bank)
Throttled Sell All Junk -- The games built in SellAllJunk() function causes serious lag & can cause game crashes. I throttled the sell all junk feature so it sells each junk item one at a time, but it does it really fast. You shouldn't notice anything except that there's less lag when opening store windows & automatically selling junk.

Style Material Filters - Added style material filters for each style material. You can tell JunkIt to junk all style materials or pick which ones you want to junk.
Armor Trait Filters - Added an Armor Trait filter for each Armor Trait material. You can tell JunkIt to junk all Armor Trait Materials or pick which ones you want to keep & junk.
Weapon Trait Filters - Added a Weapon Trait Filter for each weapon trait material. You can tell junkIt to junk all weapon trait materials or pick which ones you want to keep & junk.

Kebyind for Debug Window - You can set a keybind to open the debug window which tells you exactly why every item was kept or junked. It will tell you which junk/keep filter the item matched.
Setting Profiles - Allows you to save all of your settings for JunkIt as a Profile. You can save up to 5 profiles and reload/swap between them at the push of a button.
TextFilters: Whitelist - You can add text to the Whitelist which will prevent JunkIt from filtering any item with that text in its name.
TextFilters: Blacklist - You can add text to the Blacklist which will force JunkIt to junk any item with that text in its name. WARNING: This overrides all other KEEP filters including the KEEP for research filters.
KEEP Set Items Filter - Added a filter which, when ON, will prevent JunkIt from junking Set Items.
KEEP Unique Items Filter - Added a filter which, when ON, will prevent JunkIt from junking Unique Items.
ALL Features Can Be Independently Toggled ON or OFF
Main Features:
LootMode (Auto-Looting): You can now let JunkIt loot for you! You can set it to loot "Not Junk" and it will automatically loot anything that is not considered junk by JunkIt (anything not flagged as junk or anything flagged to be kept, like researchables) and it will leave all of the junk on those dead bodies. You MUST turn off the games auto-loot feature for this to work properly.
JunkMode (Auto-Junking): Set junk filters by item type and quality to automatically junk new items you pick up. The JunkMode setting allows you to temporarily disable item junking without having to turn off the addon & reload your ui (research icons and destroyer buttons will still work when JunkMode is off, but do have their own separate option to turn them off as well if you want). [ON by Default, but you must set the junk filters to tell it what you want to junk]
KEEP Unique Items: You can tell JunkIt to KEEP (not to junk) any unique items. This will exclude unique items from the junk filters.
KEEP by Value (Sell Price): Allows you to set a sell price filter for junking items. This will tell JunkIt to KEEP (not to junk) any item with a sell price at or above the sell price you set. A sell price of 0 turns this feature off (at 0 no items will be kept regardless of their sell price). [OFF by Default]
KEEP Researchables: Feature Updated: Allows you to tell JunkIt to KEEP (not to junk) any unknown researchable trait items or unknown recipes based on crafting type. Only want blacksmithing items & recipes? You can specify exactly which researchable crafting types it will keep![ON by default]
KEEP Researchables For Other Characters: Feature Updated: You can tell JunkIt to KEEP (not to junk) any unknown researchable trait items or unknown recipes for ALL of your characters, regardless of which character your playing on. You can even specify exactly which crafting types you wish to keep for each of your characters![OFF by default]
Watch List for Each Crafting Type: Shows you which characters are "watching" for unkown researchable items/recipes for each crafting type. This way if you want to turn on the KEEP filter "Unknowns for Other Characters" you know exactly what type of items your keeping for each crafting type, for each character, by looking at its watch list. (Displays in the settings menu under the KEEP filters section)
Research Icons: Feature Changed: Icons are displayed on items in your inventory/bank to show you exactly which items your characters need for research. Works for unknown traits & recipes. You can toggle the unknown trait icons & recipe icons ON or OFF independently. You can choose to show icons for just your current character, just for other characters, both, or turn them all of.[ON by Default]
Icons will NOT (show up) tell you a character needs an item if that character has the KEEP filter "Unknowns for ..." turned OFF for that crafting type, nor will their name show up as needing the trait/recipe in the tooltips. This way if you don't care about blacksmithing items for l33tdude then icons will not show that he needs any blacksmithing items (even if he really does) THIS IS INTENTIONAL so that you don't have to look at icons & tooltips for characters, on items, that involve crafting skills that you do not care about (for that character).
Colorized Icons: Icons now give you more information at a glance. If an icon is Red then it is only needed by the current character. If it is Orange then it is needed by the current character and other characters. If it is Yellow it is only needed by other characters. (You must log each character in at least once so it can figure out what traits/recipes they need. After that it will keep itself up to date with the traits/recipes they need.)
Research Tooltips: Item tooltips will now tell you exactly which of your characters need the item for research (works on researchable trait items & recipes). (You must log each character in at least once so it can figure out what traits they need before their names will show up on the tooltips. After that it will keep itself up to date with the traits/recipes they need.)
JunkIt Destroyer: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK Provides clickable buttons on items in the junk area of your inventory that allows you to quickly destroy a junk item without any pop-up confirmation. These buttons only appear on items in the junk area. They will not show up in any other inventory tab. This is intentional to help prevent you from accidentally destroying something that is not junk.[OFF by Default]
Auto-Repair: Added an option to auto-repair your armor when talking to a merchant. You can auto-repair all items, equipped items only, or turn the feature off. Added an option to display a chat message when auto-repairing.
Auto-Sell Junk: JunkIt now has an option to Auto-Sell Junk when talking to a merchant. It will display a chat message letting you know that it sold all of your junk, the chat message is NOT optional. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

And much more...the list is getting to long.

Flexibile Chat Messages:
Research: JunkIt can display a chat message to let you know whenever you pick up a new item with an unknown researchable trait or an unknown recipe. [ON by Default]
Research For Other Characters: JunkIt can display a chat message to let you know whenever you pick up a new item with a research trait needed by one of your other characters. [OFF by Default]
Research Character Names: JunkIt can display a chat message to let you know exactly which characters need the item for research. Prints a chat message with a list of all of your character names who need the item for research.[OFF by Default]
Junked Items: JunkIt can display a chat message letting you know whenever it has junked an item for you. [ON by Default]
Not Junked Items: JunkIt can display a chat message letting you know whenever you have picked up a new item that was not junk. [ON by Default]
JunkIt Destroyer: JunkIt will display a chat message letting you know what you destroyed everytime you click on one of the JunkIt destroyer buttons. Sorry, but this one is not optional.
Auto-Repair messages, Auto-Sell Junk messages, loot messages, junking messages, gold gains, & gold spent messages,.... to much to list.

And many more chat options...the list is getting to long.
Slash Commands:
/junkit -- Opens the JunkIt Addon Menu
DEVELOPERS:

DEVELOPERS: This addon now has support for the new LibLoadedAddons. This allows addons to register themselves and query whether or not another addon has been loaded in an attempt to ease the ability to include support for other addons.
Future Plans: None. I will continue to keep the addon working & may add small requests from time to time.
Version 6.0 --

New Styles Added regular and advanced filters for new styles added to the game in a previous update.
Version 5.9 -- Added Request

Advanced Filter: Motifs Added code to handle the new item type for motifs. The advanced filter for Motifs should work again.
Version 5.8 -- Added Request

Advanced Filter: No Trait Added the option to create advanced filters for armor/weapons that do not have traits. "No Trait" has been added to the list of trait choices.
Version 5.7 --

API Update No changes, just an API update
Version 5.6 --

Advanced Filter Fix The Advanced Filters for collectibles & containers were no longer working properly due a previous game update. They should be working again.
Version 5.5 --

ITEMTYPE Filter Changes "The Game" has changed the item types of some items. The ones I've heard about are: Trophies, Collectibles, & there is a new Treasure Item type. If you suspect some filter is no longer working properly try turning on these filters & running the filters against your open inventory (with keybind) & see if that junks the item. The item type of those items may have changed. This is a change in the games code, all filters are working as they should.

New Treasure Filter Added some code, a basic filter, & Advanced filter to handle the new ITEMTYPE_TREASURE items.
Advanced Filter Min Level Update I forgot to update the min level filter. It is now updated to include VR 15 & 16.
Version 5.4 --

Advanced Filter Max Level Update Updated the max level filter for the advanced filters to include VR 15 & 16.
Version 5.3 --

Worn Item Tooltips Fix Apparently I added a new feature (that was broken) and I don't even remember writing the code ! Anyhow the worn item tooltips should now be fixed & they will now display who needs the item for research, just like items in your inventory.
Version 5.2 --

API # Update no feature changes
Version 5.1 --

Debug Message When I was working on the shield filter problem I accidently left a "Passed Shield Check" debug message in the code. It should be gone now.
Major Type-O Fix When working on the shield filter problem it appears I uncommented an old line of code that turned the "Trash" quality filter setting back into saying "Any Quality". It is actually a "Trash" quality setting. The "Any Quality" setting was removed in a previous version, there was no need for it, if you want to junk any quality just select "Legendary".
Version 5.0 --

Advanced Filter for Shields with Traits: Bug Fix The trait filter was not working properly with Shields. Although shields are classified by the game as weapons, they use armor traits. To fix this problem in the Advanced Filters Shields will no longer match the itemType "weapons" filter. Shields now have their own itemType filter called "Shields".
New ItemType "Shields" In the advanced filters shields now have their own itemType filter called "Shields". Shields will no longer match the itemType "weapons" filter.
Version 4.9 --

Debug Message Window Message: "FAILED QUALITY CHECK" -- A debug message stating "FAILED QUALITY CHECK" was showing more often than it should in the debug message window which made it appear to users that something was broken. There is actually nothing wrong with the filters. It was a special debug message that I had exposed (to show more often than necessary) while I was testing something a long time ago & I forgot to hide it again.

However, if anyone sees it again let me know, because it will still show up in the debug window....but now it should only show up if something is actually wrong.
Version 4.8 --

Advanced Filters Level Filter Fix a bug that was causing the AF level filters to not always work properly.
NOT "Any Quality" Fix a bug that...apparently since the release of the new settings menu many many months ago no one noticed that the "Any Quality" setting for the basic junk filters really didn't filter "Any Quality"...It was supposed to say "Trash" for trash quality items. It has been fixed.
Advanced Filters Prioritization Prioritized the Advanced Filters so that if you create two overlapping Advanced Filters one JUNK and one KEEP (that will both match the same item) it will match the KEEP filter first.
Version 4.7 --

KEEP Crafted Items The keep crafted items filter now includes crafted potions.
Advanced Filter - Potions I added a filter to the Advanced filters to allow you to create filters with the rules "All Potions", "Crafted Potions", "Non-Crafted Potions"
Advanced Filter - Set Items I added a filter to the Advanced filters to allow you to create filters with the rules "Set Item", "Not a Set Item"
Added Library Support I created & added support for a new library that tracks loaded addons. This is mainly for developers to make it easier to determine when/what addons are loaded so it will be easier for addons to add support for other addons.
Rewrote Sell All Junk Code Changed the way the Sell All Junk Code is written & added a setting to allow you to adjust the delay between item sells. This is due to the fact that the game can lag or even crash if items are sold to fast. If you have this problem try increasing the delay in the settings menu.
Version 4.6 --

Sell Stolen Items Bug Fix Fix a bug that would cause an error msg when using the new Sell All Stolen Items if you did not also have the confirmation turned on.
Version 4.5 --

Sell All Stolen Items Added an option to automatically sell all stolen items when visiting a fence.
Sell All Stolen Items Confirmation Added an option to display a pop-up window when visiting a fence asking you to confirm if you want to sell all stolen items.
Version 4.4 --

Compatibility Fix Fixed a compatability problem with awesome guild store & the trading house icons...there is still one left, the research icons overlap the price, but thats not one I can fix.
Version 4.2 --

Bug Fix Fixed an error caused by bad itemTypes.
Let me know if you have any problems.
Version 4.1 --

Bug Fix Fixed a bug in the advanced filters that was preventing them from junking stolen items that have no ItemType.
Version 4.0--

Added Advanced Filters If the basic filters are good enough for your needs you should use them. These filters will not be needed by most users. They are for creating more complex JUNK & KEEP filters.
Added Soul Gem Junk Filter
Bug Fix Fixed a bug that was preventing the white/black list text filters from working on some item types that are not handled by any other JunkIt junk filter and were therefore being ignored.
Version 3.8 --

Bug Fix Fixed a bug that was created when I split the ITEMTYPE_TOOL into lockpicks & repair kits.
Version 3.7 --

Inventory Grid View Added some code to reposition the Research icons if you are running inventory grid view.
Size Setting With IVG running the icons seemed to large to me, they covered up a quarter of the items icon, so I added a setting to adjust the size of the marked icons.
Version 3.6 --

KEEP Crafted Items Added a "KEEP Crafted Items" setting that will prevent crafted items from being junked by the junk filters.
WARNING: Like all other settings this can be overridden by the blacklist !
Version 3.5 --

Tools -> Lockpicks & Repair Kits Separated the tool filter into a lockpick & repair kit filters
Added Quality Filters Back In for Provisioning Filters
Equipable Stolen Items Added an option to exclude equipable stolen items from the Stolen Items Junk Filter. Do note if the item is equipable it could still possibly match another junk filter.
Version 3.4 --

Stolen Item Filter Fix Items that had no itemType were previously not handled by JunkIt (they were ignored). A lot of the new stolen items have no itemType so they were being ignored instead of filtered. I had to make some code changes so JunkIt would stop ignoring items with no itemType. I tested it and found no side effects to this change, but if you have any problems please let me know. The stolen item filter should work properly now.
Version 3.2 --

Auto-Loot Stolen Items...Or Not Added a setting to allow you to prevent JunkIt from Auto-Looting stolen items.
Added a Stolen Items Junk Filter
Research Icon Bug Fix Fixed a bug that was causing research icons from appearing on some stolen items.
Version 3.2 --

Fixed a bug caused by new ITEMTYPE_FISH
Added a fish junk filter
Version 3.1 --

Updated API version
Updated LibAddonMenu
Version 3.05 --

Code Update for KeybindStrip Destroy 0 Value Junk Buttons ZOS said they were able to reproduce the bug and have confirmed there is a bug in the game causing the keybindStrip error and said they have a fix in the works. But until they fix it I am removing this feature from the keybind strip. You can still bind a hotkey to it & use it just like before, it just wont show up in the keybind strip at the bottom of the screen.
Version 3.0 --

Code Update for KeybindStrip Destroy 0 Value Junk Buttons There was a small problem in rare cases if you clicked inventory buttons in a certain order, in certain inventories, and then opened the mail after leaving the other buttons in a certain state.....this was not easy to find....that the Destroy 0 Value keybindStrip button was not being properly removed from the keybind strip and although I could not get it to throw an error, one player who is using JunkIt reported an error involving the keybindStrip. This may have been the problem. Apparently the bank deposit inventory buttons do not automatically update the keybindStrip like every other menu bar/window.
Version 2.9 --

Updated LibNeed4Research Library Added an error check to the library.
Version 2.8 --

This is JunkIt...not FilterIt Woops, it would help if I knew which addon I was working on so I could use the correct addon name in the code. Bug Fixed.
Version 2.7 --

When the research sharing library was added the following feature was temporarily removed because it no longer worked, due to code changes. It has now been added back in.
Remove Deleted Characters From Watchlists There is no way for an addon to know when you delete a character. If you deleted a character while they were on one of the crafting watchlists the icons & tooltips will still show that character needs them. To fix this I added a slash command to allow you to manually remove a character from all of the crafting watchlists (which will stop showing icons & tooltips for them). To use it type:
/junkitrmchar Mycharname
Replacing Mycharname with whichever characters name you wish to remove.

It will display a few messages confirming the character was removed from each watchlist (or telling you the character name was not found). It will wait for 10 seconds (to give you a chance to read the messages) and then the UI will automatically reload to update all necessary information in the saved variables.

If you make a mistake by typing the wrong character name all is not lost.
Log that character in and toggle their KEEP Unknown xxx trait items OFF & then back ON, for each craft type, and it will put them back on the watchlist.
Version 2.6 --

Crash Fix There is apparently a recipe that has either a bugged recipeResultItemLink or it has strange characters in it that was causing the game to crash, for characters that new that recipe, when the new library attempted to save the link (so it can remember you know that recipe). My characters do not know that recipe & the data for recipes can only be accessed if your character knows the recipe so I had no way of knowing this would happen.

Unfortunately the only way to fix it was to rewrite the library to stop saving recipe links and it means the only way to be sure everyone else's copy of the addon wont crash with the new library is to wipe the saved vars to remove all of the links. I am sorry about this.
Version 2.5 --

Error Check Added some code to check for & prevent possible errors, including one involving the trading house that could have potentially cause a crash.
Version 2.3 -- Bug Fix

Bug Fix squish squash
Version 2.2 -- Bug Fix

Trading House Fix Fixed a bug that was causing the wrong comparison tooltips to show up when hoovering your mouse over an item in the trading house.
Version 2.1 -- Bug Fix

Profile/Research Bug I found a bug where if you loaded a saved profile & it turned ON/OFF your "KEEP Unresearched xxxxx" option, it did not actually turn those options on/off properly.
This was due to changes in the new research system. It has been fixed.
Version 2.0 -- Requested Features

Unknown Icons at Trading House Added Unknown icons to items in the trading house window.
Unknown ToolTips at the Trading House Added Unknown tooltips to items in the trading house window.
1 Hotkey To Toggle Junk/Unjunk Changed the Junk & Unjunk Hotkey to be just a single hotkey that toggles an items junk status (you will have to reset your hotkey).
Unknown Chat Message Colors There are now different colored messages when finding unknowns for your current player & other characters to make it easier to see at a glance.
Manual Junk Scan Total Report Added a Junk/Unjunk message telling you how many items were junked or unjunked when manually using a hotkey to run a junk scan will now tell you how many items were moved to junk & how many were unjunked.
Separated Icon Options for Current Character & Other Characters You now have the option to individually toggle ON/OFF icons for recipes & research items for your current character & other characters (before you could only choose show current character icons & show other character icons).
Added Research Tracking Library I finished my cross-addon Research Tracking Library that is used to track research information for all of your characters & share that information with other addons. I have several addons (so do others) that track this information. Everyone is running the same code in every addon...this slows things down considerably for everyone and causes problems. With this library all of the code can be run a single time and each addon can just grab the needed information from the library.
The bad news is that to implement it we have to wipe the saved variables to prevent problems.
The good news is that since the Research Tracking information will now be contained in the library, separate from JunkIt (or any other addon), it is highly unlikely that you will ever loose the research information again. Even if addons reset their saved variables the research information will still be there (and you wont have to log in multiple characters to rebuild that information for the addons)...not just for JunkIt, but for all that use it.

Version 1.33 -- Requested Features

Remove Deleted Characters From Watchlists There is no way for an addon to know when you delete a character. If you deleted a character while they were on one of the crafting watchlists the icons & tooltips will still show that character needs them. To fix this I added a slash command to allow you to manually remove a character from all of the crafting watchlists (which will stop showing icons & tooltips for them). To use it type:
/junkitrmchar Mycharname
Replacing Mycharname with whichever characters name you wish to remove.

It will display a few messages confirming the character was removed from each watchlist (or telling you the character name was not found). It will wait for 5 seconds (to give you a chance to read the messages) and then the UI will automatically reload to update all necessary information in the saved variables.

If you make a mistake by typing the wrong character name all is not lost. The next time you log that character in it will fix itself & put them back on the appropriate watchlists.
Version 1.33 -- Requested Features

Moved the Keybind for Destroy Junk With 0 Sell Price in the Controls -> Keybindings window As per request I've Moved the Keybind for Destroy Junk With 0 Sell Price in the Controls -> Keybindings window, so it is grouped with the other JunkIt keybinds. [b]If the key yo had it bound to is a shared bound key you will need to unbind & rebind the key to get it to work properly, there is nothing I can do about that.

Keybind & Keystrip button Destroy Junk With 0 Sell Price - When pressed (with an open inventory) it will destroy all junk with 0 Sell Price. Now works on your bank, inventory, & your inventory while the bank is open.
Keybind to mark an item as junk - Hoover your mouse over an item & press the hotkey
Keybind to unmark an item as junk - Hoover your mouse over an item & press the hotkey
Keybind to apply junk filters to open inventory With an inventory open press the hotkey and JunkIt will scan the inventory Junking & UnJunking items to match your current filters (works on your backpack, bank, & guild bank).
Version 1.32 -- Requested Changes

Fixed the Chat Spam: Sorry about that...Removed the chat spam caused by some debug code.
Removed Potion Quality Fitler: Removed the quality filter for potions. They are only white ??
Version 1.3 -- Requested Changes

Destroy 0 Sell Price Junk button: Added the Destroy 0 Sell Price Junk button to the bank junk tab (and inventory junk tab while banking).
Settings Menu Make-Over...Again: A lot of people, understandably, disliked the route I was taking with the settings menu. I started over, from scratch, in an attempt to clean it up some more & make it easier to understand. Due to the requested/necessary changes the settings menu is no longer localized for other languages at this time.
Removed Unnecessary Quality Filters: Removed some quality filters that were not necessary because those item types are all the same quality.
Removed the Loot Window Feature: I decided to remove the loot window feature. The loot window is now a separate addon named LootIt The reason was so it would be easier to add features to, to maintain, & so others who do not use JunkIt could download and use the loot window addon that is now named LootIt.
Removed the Inventory SubFilters: Again this was to make it easier to add features to & maintain the code. Also I'm aware most people use Advanced Filters so this way it eliminates a lot of code for those who are not using it anyhow. I have not posted this one yet as a separate addon, it will be posted soon.
Version 1.26 -- Bug Fix

Clarified One of the Destroy 0 Sell Price Junk Filters: Rewrote the Auto-Destroy subment to make it a little more clear as to what the difference between each of the filters do.
Version 1.25 -- Bug Fix

KEEP Items At or Above this Value: Fixed a bug causing an error in the KEEP Items At or Above this Value fitler.
Version 1.24 -- Bug Fix

Auto-Sell Junk Confirmation Bug: Fixed a bug causing an error in the pop-up dialog if you had auto-sell junk & auto-sell junk confirmation turned on.
Version 1.23 -- Bug Fix

Manual Junk/Unjunk: I left debug mode on again...sorry. You can now manually junk/unjunk items. This will also fix the extra chat messages you may have been seeing.
Bug Fix: Fixed a rare bug where a rare item subtype that is not handled by JunkIt was causing an error.
Version 1.22 -- Bug Fix

Conflict: There was a conflict with another addon that was causing the new "destroy junk items with 0 sell price keybind" to throw errors. It has been fixed.
KEEP Quest Items: I have temporarily removed this KEEP filter. A bug was found that was causing it to keep unwanted items. The game does not have any API built in to determine if the item is a quest item or not. I thought I had found a way around that, but it is keeping any item used in any quest anywhere in the game...even if you don't need the item for a quest & even if its trash. I'm going to attempt to rewrite it so that it will check your quest journal & see if the item is needed by one of your current quests, but it will take some time. So in the meanwhile I am temporarily disabling this filter since it is not working exactly as planned.
Version 1.21 --

Destroy 0 Sell Price Junk Kebyind Optional: I forgot to add a setting to make this optional, threw one in the settings menu real quick. You have the option of turning this ON or OFF. In case you don't want to worry about accidentally hitting the button.
Version 1.2 -- Corrected Style Filter Description, Added Requested Features

Style Material Instructions: Fixed an incorrect description of the style filters in the settings menu. It said that the individual style filters were used to KEEP those styles. THAT WAS INCORRECT, THEY ARE IN FACT JUNK FILTERS. You can choose to turn on the "Junk All Style Materials" filter or turn on the individual JUNK "Style Material" filters for the style types you wish to junk.
Style Dwemer: Added another style filter for the new Dwemer style material and alphabetized the Style material filters.
Destroyer Chat Messages: Since we now have a debug window the keeps track of all JunkIt messages for us I made the destroyer chat messages an optional setting under Chat Messages.
Quest Items: Added a KEEP quest items filter.
Armor Traits: There are now individual junk filters for all of the armor traits. The junk All Armor traits filter still exists as well.
Weapon Traits: There are now individual junk filters for all of the weapon traits. The junk All Weapon traits filter still exists as well.
Destroy 0 Sell Price Junk Keybind: Added a button to the keybind strip (next to the games built in "Destroy All Junk" button) & a keybind to allow you to destroy junk with 0 sell price. It only works while your inventory is open to the junk filter tab so you can't accidently hit it while out hunting or in another UI screen. To bind a key for it open your keybinding window under controls --> keybindings and scroll down to USER INTERFACE SHORTCUTS.

Be aware that JunkIt now appears in TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS IN YOUR CONTROLS KEYBINDINGS WINDOW. The keybind setting for the debug window is in the general list and the keybind setting for destroying 0 Sell Price junk is under USER INTERFACE SHORTCUTS. This may seem confusing, but the reason for this is because keybinds placed under the USER INTERFACE SHORTCUTS only work when the user interface is open, this is to help prevent you from accidently hitting the button and destroying stuff. It also allows you to reuse keys that are already bound to something under the general keybinds.

Version 1.1 -- Bug Fix

JunkIt: I accidently left JunkIt in debugMode which was preventing people from manually junking or unjunking items. It has been fixed.
Version 1.0 -- Update, Bug Fix, Requested Features

Bad News: This update will reset your settings. I know you hate it, but due to the massive changes below (as you see from this long list) to start localizing things for different languages & the drastic changes to reduce clutter in the settings menu it was necessary.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT PROFILES. I MADE THEM ACCOUNT WIDE FOR A REASON. SET UP YOUR SETTINGS ON ONE CHARACTER, SAVE IT AS A PROFILE THEN LOG IN YOUR OTHER CHARACTERS & LOAD THE PROFILE TO SAVE YOU SOME TIME!!!!

Bug Fix: Fixed a bug that crept in during the last update which was preventing the "Watching for" character name lists in the settings menu KEEP section from updating properly when you toggled those options ON/OFF. The filters worked, the list of names just wasn't updating properly.

Started Localizing: Its far from done, but the majority of the settings menu has been localized for other languages. So if you play in a language other than english you should see 'most' of the settings menu in your games language.

You will notice that a few things have been renamed. For example the Armor submenu is now called Apparels & Jewelry is now called Accessories. This was done to match the names used in the guild store & for language localization purposes.

Sell All Junk Confirm: Added an option to have a popup dialog ask you to confirm if you want to sell all junk when visiting a merchant.

Auto-Destroy Junk with 0 Sell Price: This has been requested several times, I finally gave in. When ON junk items with 0 sell price will be automatically destroyed, there is no recovering them...No refunds, USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Auto-Destroy Confirmation: Added an option to have a popup dialog that will popup and ask you to confirm if you want to destroy the junk items with 0 sell price. Yeah I know that kinda works against having the items "automatically" destroyed, but its there as an option for your own good.

Debug Window: After all that work I decided I did not like how I implemented the debug chat messages, so I rewrote it all. I created a chat window that you can set a keybind for to toggle its visibility. Everytime something is evaluated by JunkIts junk filters a message will be displayed in the chat window telling you exactly which KEEP/JUNK filters the item matched so you know why every item was junked or kept. So if you ever wonder why something was junked or kept open it up, take a look, & see why.

Updated Settings Menu: While far from done, I've made significant improvements to the settings menu in my attempts to reduce the clutter. Now each option (that has a quality option) is handled by one control. A dropdown box that allows you to select "off" or the quality of your choosing.

Quality in Color Yay!: Do note that the quality names in the settings menu have changed to match what you see when using the guild store. This was done for language localization purposes & it made sense...best of all their in color to match their respective qualities so it should still be just as easy to know which quality your actually selecting.

Style Material Filters: I added new junk filters for style materials. The Junk ALL style materials filter is still there, or you can individually select which style materials you wish to junk/keep. NOTE: These filters do not effect other items that have those styles applied to them (like armor/weapons), they are only used to junk/keep specific style "MATERIALS".

Glyps & All Crafting Materials: Glyphs are covered under the All Crafting Materials junk filter, so if its on Glyphs will be junked. Even though they are used in crafting Style Materials & Armor/Weapon Trait stones are not covered by the All Crafting Materials filter. The game does not consider them as crafting materials.

Destruction Staves, One Handed, & Two Handed Weapons: I removed the Destruction Staves, One-Handed, & Two-Handed junk filters...I don't honestly remember why I created them in the first place. There are now individual filters for each type of destruction staves, one-handed, & two-handed weapons.

Boosters Renamed: Crafting boosters (as the game code calls them) have been renamed to match the names we see in game: Tempers, Resins, & Tannins.

Theres probably more...thats all I can remember, I should have made a list :P

Version 0.97 -- Bug Fix
Put the Library File Back In: Woops, I had removed the library files from the addon while I was working on updating some other code when someone posted a recipe bug last night. I fixed that recipe bug, but forgot to put the library files back in before I uploaded Version 0.96. My Bad.
Version 0.96 -- Bug Fix
Recipe Junk Filter Fixed: Fixed a bug caused by code changes in the last update. Recipes were being kept for research even when they were not needed.
Version 0.95 --

Made some code improvements: With all of the changes & additions JunkIt has gone through since I started there has become a need to go back through and clean things up a bit. I made a lot of changes to the chat messages & junk filter code removing redundant code and making some improvements. I tested it for several hours and didn't have any problems, but if you have any problems with the junk filters (try out the new debug chat option) and let me know.

Style Mats, Armor/Weapon Trait Stone Changes: Due to some new API they released, specifically GetItemLinkCraftingSkillType() it is apparent the game does not consider Style Mats or Armor/Weapon Trait Stones as a crafting material. While cleaning up the code I decided to follow suit, to prevent things from being confusing, and removed them from the "Junk All Crafting Material Filter." They still have their own separate junk filter, but You now must also turn on each of the Style Mats, Armor Trait, Weapon Trait filters to have them junked, they are no longer covered by the "Junk All Crafting Materials" filter.

Added a Debug Chat Option: When turned on it will print a chat message to the chat window telling you why an item was junked, kept, or ignored (if it matched no filters). It is not necessarily something that is meant to be left on, it also has the INTENTIONAL effect of FORCING items to be junk or not junk based on your set junk filters.

The purpose of this is so that if you think an item was junked/not junked properly, even though you already looted the item, you can turn the debug chat messages on and then just attempt to manually junk/unjunk the item. When you do this with the debug chat messages turned on JunkIt will rescan the item and force it back to where it belongs and will print a chat message telling you why (what filters it matched). It also works if you put the item into your bank & then withdraw it.
Version 0.94 -- Added Requested Features

WHITELIST (Text Filter): Added a Whitelist text filter. Allows you to add text to a whitelist that will prevent any item from being junked that has that text in the items name regardless of any other junk filters.
BLACKLIST (Text Filter): Added a Blacklist text filter. Allows you to add text to a blacklist that will junk ALL items that have that text in the items name regardless of any other junk filters. WARNING: THIS OVERRIDES ALL FILTERS INCLUDING THE KEEP FILTERS
PROFILES: Allows you to save your settings in up to seven different profiles and reload them at any time.
Version 0.93 -- Added Requested Features

Added Option to KEEP Set Items: Added an option to exclude set items from junk filters.
Added Option to KEEP Pet Items: Added an option to exclude pet items from junk filters.
Added a Slider to allow you to move Destroyer Buttons: Slider bar allows you to move the Destroyer buttons left or right so they don't overlap with other addon buttons. Lower values move the buttons left, higher values move the button right. Not all values will result in good placement (if you move them to far left it may overlap the items name, if you move them to far right it may overlap the value column). EVERY TIME you change the slider value it will automatically reload the UI. I know this might be annoying if you need to move the buttons a couple of times to try and find a good position, but there is no way around it.
Version 0.92 --
If you are updating from version 0.9 or 0.91 this will NOT reset your settings.
Added Support for the new NIRNHONED Trait: I just found out they added a new trait in the last update, which explains why the saved settings in the variable file no longer lined up with the game info. I added support for it. I could not find anything with the trait to test it, but it should work. If you have any trouble with it let me know.
Changed default size for Loot Window: Somehow the default size for the loot window was set so small it would not show up when you turned it on. I fixed the default value. For those who already downloaded version 0.9 or 0.91 and setup your settings, just move the Loot Window Scale slider any amount and the window will popup and fix itself.
Version 0.91 --
Updated API Version Number: Ooops, I forgot to update the API version number. 0.9 was only up for about 2 minutes, but I did see a few people downloaded it. The only change from version 0.9 is that I updated the API version number so it wont say the addon is out of date.
Version 0.9 --
Fixed Error in Saved Variables Due to Update: Short Story...Due to code changes in the update the saved variable file was messed up. The recipe/trait information saved in the saved variable file no longer matched up with the new patch. There was no problem with the code, so there was no way I could fix it. The only way to solve the problem was to wipe the saved variable file & let the addon rebuild the recipe/trait tables from scratch using the new patch information. So unfortunately this means you'll lose all of your saved settings.
Recipe Changes: With the new update came some new API. It was not ideal, but I found a way to rewrite the recipe code using the new API so there is no more string comparisons required to determine if a recipe is known or not. This should eliminate the previous problems caused by different recipes with similar names as the addon no longer has to escape/adjust/compare strings. It should be 100% accurate now. I only had 3 recipes to test it with, but it worked fine in all languages on all of my characters.
Version 0.85 -- Bug Fix
Orante Junk Filter: The Ornate Junk Filter was only junking Armor items with the ornate trait & not weapons or jewelry. It has been fixed.
Version 0.84 -- Bug Fix
Loot Chat Messages Fixed: The looted & junked chat messages were displaying an incorrect/random item link instead of a link for what you really looted. It has been fixed.
Version 0.83 -- Requested Features & Some Code Changes

Ornate Junk Filter: There is now a junk filter for Ornate items.
Zero Value Armor & Zero Value Weapons: There are now two additional Zero Value junk filters. The original Zero Value junk filter is still there (which junks ANY item that has 0 sell price), but some people didn't want that. They only wanted to junk Armor & Weapons that had 0 sell price because those are the items you pick up that are worth nothing & give next to no deconstruction xp. So I added a Zero Value junk filter for both Armor & Weapons.
Scalable Loot Window: You can now scale the size of the loot window.
Removed the 'Option' for Destroyer Chat Messages: If you use the destroyer buttons in the junk area to destroy an item you will get a chat message telling you it destroyed an item..sorry, you now have no choice. This is actually how it should have been all along.
Fixed the Motif Inventory Filter: It is now under the correct inventory tab: Consumables.
Removed A Few Inventory Filters: I removed the Enchantment Booster, Flavoring, & Spice Inventory Filters. I don't think there are any Enchantment Boosters left in the game & no one sent me a spice or flavoring item so I could get a texture off of it for the button. (One person did try, but the item I received was not a flavoring item according to the game). If you want me to re-add them (or a filter for any other item type) send me one of the items of that type so I can get a texture off of it and I will add the button for the filter.
Code Changes: I've been re-writing a decent chunk of the JunkIt code turning it into a library, separating the code a little more, and adding more comments to the code to make it easier to follow. The purpose of all of this was so that other addon users could utilize the library of code I've already written and so that whenever I (no plans on it at this time, but) eventually stop working on JunkIt it should be much easier for anyone to take over and keep it running. The DownSide Is I made a LOT of code changes...I hope I didn't mess anything up ;) Let me know if you run into any problems & I'll get it fixed.
Version 0.82 -- New Feature
Inventory SubFilters: You can now turn ON/OFF Inventory sub-filters in the general settings sub-menu. The Inventory sub-filters option creates extra menu bars in your inventories that allow you to filter by item types. For example in the Armor tab of your inventory you can click a button to filter (see) only jewelery, light/medium/heavy armor, or all armor. In the materials tab you can filter to see: Blacksmithing mats, tempers, clothier mats, aspect runes, ect.... I even added sub-filters to the junk area of your inventories (Armor, Weapons, Consumables, Materials, Misc.) to make it easier to see what junk you have. Works on your inventory, bank, & (should) work on guild banks as well. (I am not in a guild so could not test it, but it should work).
ReloadUI: You no longer have to reload your UI when you turn ON/OFF options (like the KEEP for research options). There is one exception, for the moment you do have to reload UI to turn ON/OFF the new Inventory sub-filters.
Version 0.81 -- Fixes
Recipe Fix for the Recipe Language Fix: Ok I was wrong about the recipes, I did apparently break it when trying to make it work for other languages. I found the mistake. They should be working again.
Version 0.8-- Changes
Version bump will wipe saved vars: I was told after the last update someone had recipes showing up as unknown, but they were not. I believe this was due to the code changes to fix unknown recipes in other languages. I don't think its broken, I had to change how the names of recipes is handled to get it to work in other languages, but everyone all ready has the names (the old way they were handled) stored in their saved variables so now some of them don't match. This is why I have to bump the version & wipe the saved vars. If you do still have problems after this update though let me know.
Loot Window: I fixed the bug causing items to stop showing up on the loot window if you logged in, looted something, and then changed the visibility of the background. That shouldn't happen anymore.
Loot Window & Auto-Loot Changes: I separated the Auto-Loot from the Loot Window. You no longer have to have auto-loot turned on to use the loot window. You can now toggle them ON or OFF independently of each other. There is now only one option for auto-loot: ON/OFF. I removed the options "Not Junk" and "All". The "All" option was a temporary fix to make it work, but allow you to loot everything. Since its fixed now, if you want to loot everything you can use the games built in loot all. If you guys really want it back though I could put it back in, it just didn't seem necessary.
Version 0.77b-- Fixes
Recipe Languages Fix: The recipe filters for known/unknown recipes was not working in other languages. I found the problem, it should work properly now.
Unknown Recipe Chat Messages: Both unknown recipe & unknown research messages were printing when you found an unknown recipe. Fixed it.
Version 0.75-- Fixes
Loot Window (fix): Fixed a bug where items were showing up in the loot window 1 position to low. I'm aware that if you switch the "Show Loot Window" ON/OFF after logging in & looting, it stops displaying items. If you reload your ui it fixes it. I am working on a fix for that, but having trouble tracking it down so I'm going ahead and posting this fix now.
Version 0.74-- Fixes
Loot Window: The loot window is now movable & should remember its position.
Potion Level Ranger Filter: I apparently broke the potion level filter in the last update. It has been fixed. The potion level filter now works independently of the potion/quality filter. This way you can set them to junk by quality only, by level range only, or both.
Used Bait: In the last update they apparently changed the itemType of used bait to trash, it is no longer considered a lure. Rather than doing something to make the used bait filter work, I just took it out. There is all ready a "Trash Items" junk filter so I saw it as a good opportunity to get rid of an unneeded setting. Unless someone can come up with a good reason to still have both filters just turn on the "Trash Items" filter to junk used bait.
Version 0.73-- Added Requested Feature & More
LootMode (Auto-Looting): You can now let JunkIt loot for you! You can set it to loot "Not Junk" and it will automatically loot anything that is not considered junk by JunkIt (anything not flagged as junk or anything flagged to be kept, like researchables) and it will leave all of the junk on those dead bodies...or you can set JunkIt to loot "All" which works just like the games loot all option, but I added this to make it compatible with the Loot Window feature.
Loot Window: Displays items you loot on the screen (see screenshot 10). LootMode MUST be turned on for this to work (it can be set to loot "Not Junk" or "All" but it must be turned on). This is now about 95% finished. I still want to test it some more, but over a couple of hours I had no problems with it. I do know that it does not currently save the loot window position when you move it and relog. That fix will come tommorrow.
Research ToolTips Are Now Optional: Added an option in the options menu to allow you to turn off theresearch tooltips.
Fixed the Gold Chat Messages: It should now stop displaying the gold chat messages when you turn it off.
Version 0.72--
Removed the Extra Trash Filter: There were two trash filters showing in the settings menu. One of them didn't actually do anything it would hurt anything. It was a new option I was preparing to add, but haven't finished & forgot to hide it in the settings menu. This update just hides it.
Version 0.71-- Added Requested Feature & More
Added a Requested Gold Chat Message: Displays a chat message when you gain or spend gold.
Fixed Item Names: I just noticed it myself last night, no one told me this whole time item names were not being formatted correctly. They were displaying ^n & ^p at the end of everything :p I never noticed, It's fixed now.
Loot Window (Unfinished) : Loot window displays the items you loot on the screen. It is not finished, but a huge part of it is. It may not work as you'de like at the moment...it is unfinished. But the code thats there should work & not cause any problems. Right now it displays loot items on the screen when you OPEN a loot window or loot an item. I left a huge message explaining it in the settings menu. If you don't want to mess with it, don't turn it on. I'm hoping some people will play with it & see if they have any problems with the animations while I finish the rest of the code so it only displays items at the correct time (when you loot items).
Version 0.693 -- woops my bad
Fixed Spam Msg: Someone reported a bug in 0.68 that I fixed, but I was in the middle of working on a new feature for the next big update and accidentally left in two debug messages that printed to the chat screen every time you opened & closed a loot window. Sorry about that, it has been fixed.
Turned Off Debug Mode: ...and I also left debug mode on apparently, which was preventing people from manually junking/unjunking some things.[/color]
Version 0.69 --
Bug Fix: Fixed a bug in this last update that was causing 0 value items to not be junked properly.
Version 0.68 --
Bug Fix: There was a bug in this last update that was causing JunkIt to junk some items it wasn't supposed to. This new update fixes it.
Version 0.65 -- Added Requested Features
Unique Items: You can now tell JunkIt to KEEP (not junk) unique items.
Auto-Repair Changed: As requested you now have the option to repair only your equipped items or all items. (or you can still turn the feature off if you want)
Version 0.65 --
Updated the API Version.
Fixed A Bug caused by the New API.
Version 0.6 -- Added Requested Features & Then Some
Added a Trophy Quality Filter
Split Unknown Researchable Items Into Separate Crafting Types: You can now specify exactly which crafting types you want to keep unknown researchables/recipes for.
KEEP Unkowns for Other Characters Changed: You can now specify, for each character, exactly which crafting types you wish to keep unknowns for while playing other characters.
For example if you want to keep unknown researchable blacksmithing items for your character on3l33tdude, then on3l33tdude MUST have the KEEP filter "Unresearched Blacksmithing Trait Items" turned ON. By turning that on it adds him to the "watch list" (which is shown to you in the options menu) so that you can keep blacksmithing items for him regardless of which character you are playing. I figured this was the best way to handle the option in the settings menu since if on3l33tdude has the keep filter "Unresearched Blacksmithing Trait Items" turned ON, then you must care about those items, so you probably want to keep them no matter which character you are playing (or vice-versa). There is still an option to toggle if you want to keep unknowns for other characters or not.
Added a Watch List for Each Crafting Type: Shows you which characters are "watching" for unkown researchable items/recipes for each crafting type. This way if you want to turn on the KEEP filter "Unknowns for Other Characters" you know exactly what type of items your keeping for each crafting type, for each character, by looking at its watch list. The list is displayed in the settings menu, section KEEP Filters, right above the corresponding keep filter "Unknowns for xxx" crafting type.
Changed the Way Unknown Icons & ToolTips Work: With the addition of being able to specify which crafting types you want to keep items for on each character I changed the rules that dictate if Icons & ToolTips appear.
Icons will NOT (show up) tell you a character needs an item if that character has the KEEP filter "Unknowns for ..." turned OFF for that crafting type, nor will their name show up as needing the trait/recipe in the tooltips. This way if you don't care about blacksmithing items for on3l33tdude then icons will not show that he needs any blacksmithing items (even if he really does) THIS IS INTENTIONAL so that you don't have to look at icons & tooltips for characters, on items, that use crafting skills you do not care about (for that character).
Version 0.5 -- Added Requested Features & Then Some
Potions: Added a quality filter & a level range filter. The level range filter allows you to select a value and any potion not within that range of your current level will be junked. For example if your level 39 and you have the level range set to 4, it will junk any potion that is not within level 35 - 43. A value of 0 turns this option OFF. If you would prefer to just have a level filter that junks everything below a set level, let me know. I thought this would be more useful to help prevent you from having to keep changing the filter level as you level up.
Zero Gold: Added an option to junk zero gold sell price items.
Auto-Repair: Added an option to auto-repair your armor when talking to a merchant. Added an option to display a chat message when auto-repairing.
Recipes for Other Characters: JunkIt now has an option to allow you to KEEP recipes that are unknown by your other characters (You must log them in at least once so it can figure out which recipes they know).
Added Separate Options for Research & Recipe Icons: For those who use another addon that ONLY displays recipe icons. This will allow you to turn ON or OFF just recipe icons or just research icons or both.
Recipe Icons Are Now Colorized: Recipe icons are now colorized just like the research icons. If the icon is red its needed only by the current character. If it is orange its needed by the current character & other characters. If it is Yellow its needed only by other characters.
Auto-Sell Junk: JunkIt now has an option to Auto-Sell Junk when talking to a merchant. It will display a chat message letting you know that it sold all of your junk, the chat message is NOT optional. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Version 0.42 -- Added Requested Features & Then Some
KEEP ITEMS RESEARCHABLE BY OTHER CHARACTERS: Added an option to keep items that are researchable your other characters (must log them in at least once for it to work so it can figure out what traits they need). This option is independent of the old keep unknown researchable traits so you can choose to keep only researchables your current character needs, or only ones other characters need, or both.
RESEARCH ICONS FOR OTHER CHARACTERS: Added the ability to show research icons on items needed by your other characters. It is independent of the old icons, meaning you have the option to show icons only for your current character, only for other characters, or both.
COLORIZED ICONS: Also I colorized the icons to give you information at a glance. If the icon is green its a recipe. If the icon is red it is useable ONLY by the current character. If the icon is orange it is useable by the current character and other characters. If the icon is yellow it is useable only by other characters.
RESEARCH TOOLTIPS: Item tooltips will now show you all of your characters who need the item for research.
RESEARCH CHAT MESSAGES: Added a few more options for chat messages. You can now receive chat messages when you loot a item that is needed for research by your current character, by only other characters, or both. There is also a chat message option to tell you which characters need the item you picked up for research (it prints a chat message with all of their names).
Version 0.4 -- I uploaded the wrong zip file. It was an old copy that still had a bug in it, sorry everyone.

Version 0.3 -- Added Requested Features
FOOD QUALITY FILTER: Added a food quality filter.
DRINK QUALITY FILTER: Added a drink quality filter.
Version 0.2 -- Added Requested Features
KEEP BY VALUE (SELL PRICE): Added a filter which allows you to tell JunkIt to KEEP all items at or above a value (sell price) that you set in the options menu. A value of 0 disables this setting (at 0 no items will be kept regardless of their sell price).
USED BAIT: Split Lures into two different junk filters. There is now a separate junk filter for "Used Bait." The Lures Junk filter now affects all lures except used bait. The Used Bait filter will only affect used bait.

QuadroTony,

Check your PMs. I'm willing to help out and already have a working update to JunkIt that I'm running locally. I recently took lead on the addon RAETIA InfoHub as the original author no longer plays the game as well. You can swing over there (http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info4...oHub.html#info) and take a look at my involvement since taking over. I use the hell out of this mod (thank you btw) so if nothing else I'm going to keep this alive for myself

Let me know!
looks like we need new author
this one afk too long
