The other addon does what this one tried to. No point in maintaining it. My other addons are staying put.

I have to say that is rather sad and disappointing as I am actually a fan of your work in particular.

I recommend using AutoInvite addon, as this addon will likely not be receiving updates.

I am having the same issue as the others no spaces in front of my text, yet still not getting anything from the addon.

Try making sure there are no spaces in the front of your text.

I'm having this same issue. Under settings, I have it set to listen to zone, whisper and yell. I've tried putting (individually) LFG, lfg, 123, etc. in the text window, but no auto-invites happen. This is in Cyro if that matters.

Afraid I'm having a lot of trouble getting it to work.
I run multiple Wykkyd addons (thank you for great addons btw) without any problems, but it just wont let me auto-invite anyone tested in guild, whisper and zone without any luck. Do I need to do anything more than set up the listen channels and turning it on?

I would like to apologize to those of you who use my addons. I know it feels like I've abandoned my projects. And the truth is, I've absolutely spent FAR less time on them as I'd planned/intended. You all deserve better. My mental picture of where I want these to be deserves better. All in all, I'm just not happy with the way things have turned out.

No, I'm not walking away. I will be returning to the fray and getting these things up to speed and enhancing them. It just may take a few extra weeks for that to happen. I can't say enough how sorry I am for the delays. Again, they weren't planned.

For those curious or interested, here's the 'why':

I work in healthcare. I am Senior Software Developer at a large data firm that helps health insurance companies submit data to the US government for financial aid/reimbursement. I work on one specific product here and that product has expanded in scope far beyond its original design. And I only have one other C# developer to help me. There were pieces and parts to all of this expansion that were unforeseen and I've been working around the clock for the last several months to catch up and overcome this... "burden".

My addon development life has suffered. My gaming has suffered. My time with family has suffered. My poor little four year old feels like he never sees his daddy, and has told me so. My wife tried building shelves last week without me there to help, because I was working, and ended up slicing her left thumb open on a table saw when a board kicked back on her. ... things have just been a mess.

With all of that I haven't been playing to see my addons work or break. I haven't been logging into PTS before patches to see changes before they hit live and adapt. I, in fact, am not even up to speed on when/where/what the next patch is or what patch we're even currently on at this point.

So, thanks to all who have stuck with me despite all of this. I appreciate each and every one of you. I am sorry I haven't been around to answer your questions more actively and to assist you all the way that I did that first month or so. Those that were around back then know the level of service I INTEND to bring to the table, and you know that something has been keeping me from doing it. Well... now you know what that something has been.

All of that said my project should be rounding out over the next few weeks with less and less work required from myself as we push our final product into production. And that should mean a return to addon development in the near future. Hopefully some of you are still around when that happens.

Could you not use the Macro function of the Wykkyd's Framework? Just make a macro for advertising your group in zone chat.

If all else fails, use the almighty: Enter, up button, and then Enter again once you get the old comment mentioning your availiable group.

So, after some troubleshooting, I found out the issues with GroupTools.

Technical Details:

There is an "enabled" setting for the addon. The way it is treated makes sense. When you change the setting, the value changes from true to false. However, this value is never checked outside of the options pane. What is checked is the "listener" setting.

What it looks like is there's supposed to be checks to see if the addon is enabled and checks to see if it should be actively listening. Ideally, if the addon is enabled, but the party gets full, it should stop listening. There is code present to do this.

The problem is that the "listener" setting never gets set, but there are tons of conditions that can set it to false. So the values are either always nil or false. Because of this, none of the functions that hook the listener fire.

Possible solutions for the author:

1. Keep both settings. Use "enabled" for only checking to see if the user wants the addon enabled, and use "listener" to temporarily stop listening if the group is full.

Pseudo code - could be something like this:
If enabled and groupsize < max, "listener" = true; hook listener to chat event; unregister group member leaves detection.
If groupsize >= max, "listener" = false; unregister listener hook; hook group member leaves detection.
(EVENT_GROUP_DISBANDED and EVENT_GROUP_MEMBER_LEFT).

2. Or you could just keep one and change the rest to conform and ignore the fact that the party is full and still check chat every time, just don't send invites if it is full.
