RaidNotifier Updated  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.3.11
by: Kyoma, memus
Tired of not seeing certain effects in raids? Having trouble looking at the boss to see if he's about to do a mechanic? Or are you just lazy and want something to do most of the work for you? Then this is the addon you seek! Never be caught offguard so you can put your focus on things that are more important.

Description
Originally created by Silentgecko this addon started out with a few alerts but has since grown to huge proportion. Ranging for alerts that let you know there's a certain effect on you to alerts that warn you about an incoming hit. It's almost as if you can see into the future! Now of course there are still things you will need to look out for yourself but hopefully Raid Notifier will ease some of the burden.

If you are interested on the timing of certain bosses and their abilities I highly recommened Halls of Fabrication Veteran Status Panel and Asylum Sanctorium Status Panel by code65536.

Ultimate Exchange
This feature is still considered beta and if you are experiencing problems with it you can disable it to prevent issues or conflicts with other addons with a similar feature.

Through the use of sirinsidiator's awesome LibGroupSocket (see the page for more details) it is now possible to share your ultimate with the rest of your raid. When this feature is enabled in the settings menu it will turn on sending your ultimate values during trials only.

For now it displays people's ultimate as a percentage based on their warhorn cost but I plan to add support for other (relevant) ultimates. It does however, work with any ultimate cost reduction passive and/or sets and it doesn't matter if the person actually has warhorn slotted or not!

As a user/receiver you can configure to only show it for certain roles, like tanks and healers and have the option to colorize the text once it reaches certain thresholds (80% and 100%). The window can be dragged around and can be hidden for the user while still allowing that person to share his ultimate. More customization will come in the future.

Warning: Due to how it is currently written it will cause issues with other addons that use map pings to communicate (even the ones that also use LibGroupSocket) and will make it likely that you are kicked from the game due to hitting the message spam limit. From personal experience, when only using Raid Notifier's sharing feature I have never been kicked due to spamming.

Basics

Besides the ever-growing amount of warnings and alerts the addon also provides some other benefits during the raids. Things like disabling assistants at the start of combat or disabling vanity pets for the duration of the trial. It also features a simple but effective food buff tracker

Alerts
Each alert can have its own sound and many of them can be configured to display it for everybody and not just for you. You can see a full description for each alert in the settings menu. Of course each and every alert can be disabled.
2.3.11 (memus)
- API Bump

2.3.10 (memus)
- Libs updated

2.3.9 (kyoma)
- Libs updated
- Temporarily removed the Stoneform alert on the Warrior and added some debug code to figure out how to fix it.
- Added a failsafe to the alerts about other players for when it fails to detect who's involved. At the very least now you'll still get the alert, just with a strange number instead of the name.

2.3.8 (kyoma)
- Fixed food buff name not being displayed in the reminder notification

2.3.7 (kyoma)
- Added a few more sound options for alerts.
- Completely changed the way foodbuffs are being detected and is now future-proof. It may also increase performance a little in heavy raid fights.
- Fixed protector spawns not being shown anymore after Olms reaches phase 3 (below 75% health)

2.3.6 (kyoma)
- Added functions to LibCSA for changing the countdown tick sound.
- Fixed bug in settings code that checks for updates to setting types.
- Added option to chose what type of CSA line to use.
- Added option to display user names in alerts.
- Protector spawn in Asylum is now when they actually spawn instead of when they start shielding the boss.
- Several changes to the "Taking Aim" countdown setting. It no longer requires DevMode and it now has the option to grab the channel duration from the game itself. A custom duration is still possible and if you have a duration that is different from the default it will change the setting to "Custom" upon startup.
- Updated russian translation.

2.3.5 (memus)
- Fixed "Defiling Blast" notification not always showing up (thanks code65536).
- Added option to show username or character name on ultimate exchange window.
- Added option to unlock status display icon and move it on the screen.

2.3.4 (kyoma)
- Quick bugfix that should fix issue with countdowns not appearing due to some settings using an old format.

2.3.3 (kyoma)
- Added "Defiling Blast" from Saint Llothis and "Teleport Strike" from Saint Felms in Asylum Sanctorium. (memus)
- Added "Gusts of Steam" from Saint Olms when he jumps back and forth and "Trial by Fire" during execute. (memus)
- Added alert when a Protector add becomes active during Saint Olms fight. (memus)

- Tweaked some debugging code.
- Updated libs

- Changed how Raid Notifier listens to the combat event, should increase performance but may not be noticable.
- Added "Storm the Heavens" and "Exhaustive Charges" from Saint Olms in Asylum Sanctorium.

2.3.1 (kyoma)
- Added support for the three new foodbuffs from Clockwork City

2.3.0 (kyoma)
- Added Defiling Dye Blast (the poison cone attack) in Asylum Sanctorium
- Changed how Raid Notifier alters its countdowns to not affect other countdowns.
- Fixed debug code using the outdated variable.

2.2.9 (memus)
- Fixed vDSA notification where *Self setting would work as *All
- Added countdown for Unstable Void notificaton on vMoL

2.2.8
- Updated LibGPS
- Reverted changes to UltimateHandler.lua while I investigate issues.

2.2.7
- Fixed UI error when something died or was interrupted
- Fixed possible chat spam due to the ultimate sharing.

2.2.6
- Removed the code that stops active countdowns after boss fights due to some issues from time to time. Hopefully fixes issues in vHoF first bosses.

2.2.5
- ....

2.2.4
- Any countdown will be stopped once a boss is killed or gets reset.
- The countdown from Taking Aim in HoF is stopped when the sphere is interrupted or dies before it finishes the attack.
- Fixed some logical issues with the Taking Aim settings which led to the countdown always appearing.
- Added basic support for the new trial on PTS, it is recognized as a trial but there aren't any notifications yet.

2.2.3
- Removed unused ResourceHandler file from LibGroupSocket folder.
- Fixed settings menu not being localized properly.
- Added empty placeholder for german translation due to it being severely out of date.
- Fixed Serpent World Shaper still depending on DevMode outside of the settings menu (memus).

- Fixed some typos
- Moved DevMode setting to the top of the menu to make it easier to find.
- Removed DevMode for Serpent World Shaper.
- Ultimate window will now be hidden when you aren't grouped.
- Ultimate sharing will now be disabled when you leave a group and enabled again when you join a group. This is the actual sharing from LibGroupSocket, the setting from Raid Notifier will remain active until you leave a trial or turn it off manually.
- Fixed UI error when just typing "/rnulti"
- Actually added the Venom Injection status in HoF to the settings menu.
- Fixed glyph cooldown in Maw of Lorkhaj being in milliseconds instead of seconds.
- Added aspects display at the False Moon Twins.
- Disabled the Lunar Bastion notifications due to changes with how the effect is reported to addons. Currently investigating if I can work around it.

2.2.1
- Fixed error when no other addon was active that loaded LAM's divider.lua.
- Changed the countdown for HoF's 4th boss to a configurable one. For now the default is 5 seconds but will be tweaked in the future.
- Implemented a "default sound", as such, all alerts that had the previous (hardcoded) sound of "CHAMPION_POINTS_COMMITTED" have been changed to the default sound.

2.2.0
- API Bump
- Updated Libs
- Removed UI namespace as it was cluttering everything up.
- Restructured the UI code and turned the scalded display into a more generic status display.
- Removed devmode from Yokuda Meteor alert in Hel Ra Citadel.
- Added status display for aspects at twin bosses in Maw of Lorkhaj (still untested in actual boss fight).
- Added status display for Venom Injection from the spheres in Halls of Fabrication Hunter bosses (untested but should work).
- Added base code for status display of the spreading poison from trolls in Sanctum Ophidia (not actually implemented yet).
- Added french translation. (thanks Floliroy)

- Added status display for the "Scalded debuff" in HoF 2nd boss. (thanks code65536)
- Updated russian translation. (thanks KiriX)
- Ultimate can now be shared outside of trials, use the "/rnulti" command in chat to toggle it on and off.
- Some underlying changes to the settings menu for future additions.

2.1.3
- Changed how the UI fragment is handled to allow the Ultimate Window to be used outside of trials. Use "/rnulti on|off".
- Fixed UI error on first countdown in HoF 4th boss. (DevMode)

2.1.2
- Added "Dev Mode", a master switch for new code or additions that might not (yet) fully work as expected. Features that depend on it will be marked by this in the changelog.
- Added code for detecting when to hide the countdown on 4th bosses in HoF. (DevMode)

There are rumors that some work is being done on that library

No plans whatsoever, while I see potential for certain things in dungeons I ultimately do not have the time to undertake such a project nor feel motivated for, well, just dungeons.

The colors are directly part of the strings in the language files so changing them is a bit complicated, especially making it configurable. Are there any notifications in particular that you wish had a different color?

Ultimate Exchange : Sometimes the Ultimates for members including mine is set on a percentage and doesn't change for any of us . Sometimes , our ultimates doesn't show up at all . This can all be solved with reloadui though . It would be really awesome if you could add a notification when a group member has Warhorn ready and and the top . For example , in our group , we use the next ready Horn when there are only 10 seconds left on the current one . Maybe the addon could notify the next Warhorn user when they are next in line ?

Hel Ra Citadel :

Stone Form : This warns group members even though they are not stunned . It is not a common bug but it happens at least once in a raid day . Sometimes I hear this ''Healer stunned ! Nevermind , just the addon acting weird '' It happened to me a lot of times .

Maw of Lorkhaj :

Cleansing Platforms : This one bugs out sometimes too . I was leading a group that recently started vMoL progression and few of them mentioned that their addon is not working . We tested to see . I took one of the platforms and they said that it was still showing the platform as available . It never broke for me but seen several players that couldn't make it work . If you could add ''Entrance'' and ''Exit'' texts to the window to make it clear which one is which , it would be much better ^^ Or maybe make an arrow in the middle that shows where you look at , like a minimap ?

Unstable Void : This rarely doesn't work . Just rarely , seen it happen maybe once or twice . Nothing serious but wanted to mention .

Halls of Fabrication :

Taking Aim Countdown : Honestly , I tell my group members to not use this . I took some fresh raiders to vHoF for training and almost all of them said that they get hit by Taking Aim while there are still 2 or 3 seconds left on the countdown . We tried another addon that is made for this purpose , sadly I don't remember its name , but it didn't work as well . I am not sure what is up with Taking Aims in vHoF but no addon seems to work for most players in there , including myself . It might be just the game itself as I got hit even though there was no red glow . Game is definitely bugging time to time , might be why addon is acting weird there , no idea .

Hope these help ^^
Hey there

Hel Ra Citadel: On an addon level the warrior seems to stone two people at a time sometimes, but only one person actually gets stoned. I had code it place to detect this 'false stoning' and I thought it was working reliably. Tho admittedly I have not had much testing past the initial implementation. In the recent version (2.3.9) I've temporarily removed the alert and added some debug code to see what is going exactly. When you get a chance to go in again try enabling debug and post a screenshot of the output after the Warrior fight.

....more replies to come....

A+

LOVE this Addon, super useful when I'm taking new players through trials. Are there any plans to make a "DungeonNotifier" ? Thanks for the Addon.

Had a chance to try this out tonight and it works brilliantly! Thank you so much for adding this in and it was wonderful calling out people's @name during defiling blast. Such a simple thing but helps out immensely.

Indeed I've rarely had someone in my raid say they did not get the notification. Thanks for the catch!

The Defiling Blast comes in two stages: an initial 2s stage where the conal telegraph appears to warn you of the blast, and then a 4s channel where the blast happens and the damage is dealt. Each of these two stages trigger ACTION_RESULT_BEGIN with 95545. Raid Notifier currently avoids sending out two notifications for one blast by simply ignoring blasts for 5s after a notification goes out.

The problem with this approach, though, is that if someone targeted by the blast outranges Llothis, he will immediately pick a new target for the blast. In this case, the 5s mute that you use prevents a new notification from going out for the new blast target.

So the correct way to deal with this is to check the duration of the ability. For ACTION_RESULT_BEGIN, the hitValue field of the event contains a duration in milliseconds. So you should notify only on ACTION_RESULT_BEGIN with abilityId of 95545 and hitValue of 2000, and then eliminate the 5s mute that you currently use.
Ty for that. I heard that sometimes ppl are not getting notification so this might be the reason why.

We have guildies we know by @names and not by characters and they are usually long double names and when calling out things like defiling blast it takes precious seconds to try to figure out who a char is. It would be wonderful if there was a toggle to use @names instead.
Yes. This is something that will be in near future. Maybe in this patch or next after this.
