Miat's CC Tracker  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.43
by: dorrino [More]
Description

This addom displays the crowd control (CC) effects on you in the middle of your screen (by default).

When the addon loads for the first time you will see an icon with the "Unlocked" text above it. You can move it around the screen by clicking and dragging. When you are satisfied with the icon's position - make sure to go into the addon's options and lock it. The icon will disappear. Now the addon is set and ready.

NEW FEATURE!

Shows an icon if you're getting hit by a list of important aoe abilities. The icon works in a similar way to the Negate icon. A priority system for AOEs have been implemented as well. The current priority list is:

  • Fire destruction staff ultimate (Eye->Rage->Storm)
  • Frost destruction staff ultimate (Eye->Rage->Storm)
  • Lightning destruction staff ultimate (Eye->Rage->Storm)
  • Dragonknight' Standard ultimate and its morphs
  • Templar's Nova ultimate and its morphs
  • Vampire bats ultimate and its morphs
  • Veil of Blade nightblade ultimate morph
  • Meteor and its morphs (the dot component)
  • Sleet Storm ultimate and its morphs *NEW*

If you're hit by more than one of the listed AOEs at the same time the icon will show only the highest priority one. Example: you're hit by Eye of Flame and Vampire Bats. The icon will show Eye of Flame.

Note that Negate still has higher priority than any of the AOEs

Since 1.35 this feature should work in eso clients of all languages!

Features:
  • Displays your current CC using icon of the ability that produced the CC, text with the name of the ability and the timer with the amount of time left on this CC.

  • 3 display modes: icon only, text only and both icon and text(default).

  • Tracks and displays 6 types of CC-related effects on you: stun, fear, disorient, silence, stagger and immune.

  • Has CC priority system in place. It goes like this: Stuns->Fears->Disorients->Silence->Stagger->Immune.

For example: If you happen to have a stun, a disorient and a silence on you at the same time, it only shows the stun. When stun expires, it immediately switches to the disorient. When disorient expires - it switches to silence.

  • Has an immune effects tracking system. If an attack on you got immuned (because you had CC immunity or roots/snares immunity) it briefly shows a half-transparent icon of the ability that has been immuned.

  • Has a custom made break free animation for greater visibility of the break free event.

  • Plays a sound when a CC is applied to you.

  • CC text, CC timer and icon border take a preset color, which can be made unique for each type of the CC.

  • Most features are customizable/can be turned off completely.

Known issues:
  • In VERY rare circumstances the icon is still shown even if you're not CC-ed and it won't disappear on its own. A workaround is in the works. In the meanwhile just disable and re-enable the addon from the addon settings if you encounter this problem.

  • Please report anything else out of place in the comments.

Notes:
  • Most NPC-casted abilities in the game have the same icon, that's why this addon provides a set of placeholder icons for those abilities.

  • Immune event does not provide the type of CC that was immuned. That's why all immune pop ups for NPC-casted abilities have the same immune icon and all immune events have the same CC color.

  • Templar Eclipse and its NPC equivalent was intentionally omitted from CC list even though you can break free out of it. The reason being: it still allows you to move around and cast skills and it already has highly noticeable visual and audio cues. In my opinion adding an icon on top of all that will be more of a hindrance than of help.

  • Roots and snares are intentionally omitted as well.

Thanks and shoutouts:
  • Uixtochihuatl, for countless hours of testing and support. Without her this addon would not be possible in the state it is now. Love you.

  • Arcane Council(NA), my pvp guild. For being as awesome as you are. Not going to mention any specific names, because Forza will get jealous

If you like this addon, please check out my other addons Zone Name Alert, Poison Tracker and Innocent Blade of Woe. Thank you!
1.43 - added Time Stop and morphs to the aoe notifications,

rearranged the aoe priorities

1.42 - fixed warden ult (hopefully)

1.41 - fixed fear

1.4 - fixed the addon to work with Summerset, enjoy:)

1.38 - minor fixes for Morrowind patch and api bump

1.35 - all addon features should now work in any language ESO clients.

1.31 - API bump and minor fixes

- Changed 'Enabled only in Cyrodiil' option to 'Enabled only in PVP'.

1.3 - The addon now has a new display name to be consistent with my other pvp-oriented addon Miat's Pvp Alerts. All setting should transfer without problems.
Finally fixed the bug with not disappearing cc icon in very rare circumstances.
Added a beta feature to show if you're cc-ed while in global cooldown to indicate your inability to break free (off by default).

1.2 - Major addition - tracking of important aoe effects. See description. Thanks Elbow for the idea!
Also minor fixes, api bump and updated libraries.

1.11 - API bump and LibAddonMenu update.

1.1 - Altered visuals so the icon border color now matches the color of the CC (was red before).
Fixed the problem with embedded libs (thanks Izanagi). Sorry about that.
Added account wide settings options (thanks Baertram).
Another pass on rare occurrence of a wrong icon.

1.07 - yet another attempt to fix the never-disappearing icon.

1.06 - fixed gender suffixes shown in non-English clients. (Thanks Tonyleila!)

1.05 - a potential fix for a very rare case, when the icon shows for an inappropriate ability.

1.04 - a small fix for disorient not disappearing properly on expiration

1.03 - Release

Id's here for reference (from spreadsheet) might be helpful:
[37084] Aspect of Terror (NPC -> Player): 2 second fear applied when projectile hits player (used by Fear Mage NPCs)
[39045] Werewolf Fear (Player -> Target): 3.2 second fear applied on target by player werewolf transformation

I might take a peek at this later tonight if I remember since I have debug for combat event results in LUI I can use to check whats going on.
I have a strong suspicion what's going on, will test it at some point later.

So before the last update for every cc the game FIRST supplied an ACTION_RESULT_GAINED_DURATION event with the duration of the cc and SECOND the actual ACTION_RESULT_FEARED/STUNNED/DISORIENTED event that actually indicated that the skill applied a cc.

After the update for some unknown and undisclosed reason they reversed this order.

So now FEARED/STUNNED etc event comes FIRST and GAINED_DURATION second. Go figure.

What i did in the addon, i reversed the whole logic. Before the update the addon remembered GAINED_DURATION events and waited for CC events. Now the addon remembers CC events and waits for DURATION events.

But, in their wisdom, ZOS did change this order for everything, but fear So in a later update i reverted the logic for fears only.

But ( ), it seems to me the case is that ZOS preserved the order for nightblade fear (and any number of other skill), but reversed the order for at least "Werewolf fear and mobs that do the fear projectile".

So what i need to do is to process fear in both ways (assuming DURATION event comes before FEARED event and vice versa at the same time). Which will require a bunch of testing, since the last thing i want to do is to make custom rules for custom abilityIds, because this won't cover new fear sources and will break when ZOS changes abilityIds, because why not.

Actually your phrase that "everything but fear works" hinted that zos chenaged everything BUT fear and i fixed it all Reverted the fix for fear only.

Looks like now everything is proper.

I might be. I don't actually play that much at all, but this might be doable.

I won't be able to playtest them obviously.

And as you probably notices i detect damage ticks of aoes, so if those abilities of yours work in the same matter, we won't have a problem here.

Thank you,
Thank you and on it

Didn't realize that Summerset is out already and zos managed to mess up the cc system slightly.

I already have a summerset version fixed on pts, just need to playtest it on live.

right. For some attacks of the NPCs the game shows that area in red, but not for the cc of the players. There are:
- circles
- corridors for rush attacks

Usecase: e.g. paint borders of "elemental blockade" or heal casts like "bless ..."

I know its more difficult to paint an area ingame then edit GUI controls . The only idea i have how to start is: use PlayerPosition as middle of the BottomBorderLine of the rectangle.

If iam the only one who would need this, ok, iam of course not the middle of the world
Unfortunately drawing zones on the ground is not currently possible for the addons. I wish i could do that.
