Custom Idle Animation  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.7.3
by: Xerrok [More]
WARNING ABOUT VERSIONS 1.7 AND 1.7.1!
Since the indices of the emotes were changed by Zenimax, and the fact that this addon only stores the indices of emotes, idle sets from previous versions can't be migrated and therefore will be deleted!
I've changed it so, that the names of the emotes instead of the indices will be stored from now on, so that this case won't happen again.

With this addon you are able to replace the default idle animation with any in-game emotes.
You can use idle sets to totally customize your idle animation with all available emotes. Every emote can be given a minimum play time and a priority for more customization. Feel free to make idle sets for several "moods" of your characters.

The emotes will play almost immediately after your character's idle starts and the defined delay has passed. After that, the emotes will refresh every time when the defined minimum time has passed, or repeatedly during its minimum time, if loop is activated. The same emote can be executed more than once, which can result in a longer time a certain emote is being played.

With the chat command /cia or Escape->Settings->Addons->Custom Idle Animations you will get into the settings.
If you hover with the cursor over the single settings, a tooltip will pop up with helpful information.

You can assign keys to easily switch between the idle sets and a key to activate/deactivate the addon in the controls settings of ESO.

Known Bug:
  • When trying to sit on chairs, benches and such, the emotes will interrupt it. Deactivate the addon with the assigned key, so the character will keep sitting.
  • Having any UI window active and the game not in focus, results in getting messages, that the action couldn't be executed.

Thanks.
Unfortunately I couldn't find the source of this message in my addon, but I will look further into it.
Didn't know that with the "README" entry, will look into it too.

The only thing that I am missing from this addon is an option to not run the animations while your weapons are unsheathed. I kinda like being able to pull my weapons out without the idle animations interrupting that.

Oh.. it also breaks sitting on chairs and stuff.. that's not good.

Ah that's a good hint, didn't thought to deactivate my addon and try to use the emotes.
I wrote with some guild members and some of them can't use some emotes, absolutely no emotes or normally all emotes, but I don't know which addons they're using.
My addon just gets all emotes from the API, so there shouldn't be emotes that you can't normally use with /EMOTE. I will look into it again this or tomorrows evening.
Thanks for your support and Patience

edit:
I looked into it again and it is definitely a problem with the API.
Like I wrote before my addon gets all emotes from the API, but it is buggy. It gives false values for some emotes like /idle2, /idle3 or /eat3. I try to report this API bug and hope it will get fixed soon :/

Aww, that is unfortunate. But thanks for checking anyways!

This happens when I type in the /emote in the chat box, not just trying to do them through the addon. when I disable the addon, I can /idle2 like normal; hands behind back, /eat3 eats an apple, and /tilt does a head tilt. And I do have the updated API version 100018 one btw~

Is it just something on my end thats causing it, or is there any chance for a fix? Default idle pose is so.. meh D:

Edit: Also noticing, I'm getting alot of "Cannot play emote at this time" errors while teleporting. Not sure if this happened before and I didnt notice, or if I'm just noticing it today since I'm teleporting between houses a gabilion times..
Thanks for your appreciation and your bug report
I will look into it this evening

Hi thanks for your appreciation.
There is currently no preset for that.
The idle emote sets are capped at 10 emotes.

Why do you want to play randomly all emotes?
I mean I could implement a random idle animation Feature.
I think I will test that.

According to the How-To, LibStub ensures the library is only loaded into memory once and that it's the latest revision. Though I can see that LAM and LibStub is 38 Kb while your addon is only 6.
Actually it only ensures that only one version of each library remains in memory, and that it's the latest one. If you have 20 addons with LAM, 20*15 lua sources are loaded, compiled, execute the initial "am I newer version?" check and are discarded if they're not. But then again, basic ZOS UI code is more than 200k lines, so these tiny things don't matter much.
Thanks for the tips you two.
I've uploaded the update 1.3.1 which has LibAddonMenu 2.0 embedded.

I've added more actions where the emotes don't will play, like fishing, mining and others.
