LootWall  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.7

About

LootWall is a highly-interactive, configurable, firewall-like loot filter. It allows you to predefine some basic rules for each and every item you loot or receive (except Quest Items):
  • Keep items at-and-above quality (default: artifact)
  • Ornate-Trait Items (default: Prompt)
  • Intricate-Trait Items (default: Prompt)
  • Nirnhoned-Trait Items (default: Keep)
  • Craft-type related materials (default: all Prompt)
  • Racial style materials (default: Prompt)
  • Trash Quality Items (default: Prompt)
  • Fishing Bait Items (default: Prompt)
  • Researchable Trait Items (default: Prompt)

The presets above have all (except for Quality) four options:
  • Prompt to prompt you the first time you loot given item of that type or with matching properties
  • Destroy to destroy the item of given type or with matching properties
  • Junk to mark the item of given type or with matching properties as Junk
  • Keep to keep the of given type or with matching properties

In addition, you can track more than Corpse / Container looting, which is the default behavior since v0.6.
You can customize whether to ignore or track the following loot sources:
  • Vendor
  • Fence
  • Mail
  • Crafting Table

Above all this, once you loot an item (and are out of combat) it will display a popup asking action for any item that doesn't match above rules. Choices are:
  • Destroy (Now/Always): Destroys the looted item (and possibly the entire stack)
  • Junk (Now/Always): Marks the looted item as Junk in your inventory
  • Keep (Now/Always): Does nothing, it just keeps the item as it was looted

The Now/Always means one simple thing: responding with (Now) action will prompt you again next time you loot the same item. Responding with (Always) action will remember the action you chose, and never will prompt you again, for the same item.

With the latest update, the options of the addon are even more customizable, you may set the add-on to (almost) NEVER see the prompt again (but the promt was the original idea of the addon ). And even more options are soon to come. I come up with ideas all the time.

Installation

Use Minion! Get it at http://minion.mmoui.com

For manual install:
  1. Unzip the file you have downloaded
  2. Locate the addon directory:
    • <Documents>\Elder Scrolls Online\(liveeu/liveus/pts)\AddOns\
    • if the AddOns folder does not exist, create one
    • ex.1 C:\Users\Me\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu\AddOns\ (Windows Vista +)
    • ex.2 C:\Documents and Settins\Me\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu\AddOns\ (Windows XP)
    • ex.3 /Users/Me/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/liveeu/AddOns (OS X)
    • linux users should be able to figure out their wrapper's document dir on their own, because I HAVE NO IDEA /and it's not supported/
  3. Copy the unzipped LootWall directory to the AddOns Directory
  4. Don't forget to enable it ingame (Add-Ons menu on Character Screen or In-Game)

Changelog
My developer's portal is up and running. If you want to find out what's coming up I've just published a news article for v0.6, which you can read at My Portal's Home, also the Bug Report and Feedback/Feature request sections are at your service.

v0.7
  • Added presets for Trait Research
    • Clothing Unknown Traits (default: Prompt)
    • Woodworking Unknown Traits (default: Prompt)
    • Blacksmithing Unknown Traits (default: Prompt)
  • Added trait name to prompt window (right, under Value)
  • Changed font alignment to left or right for Item Type, Equip Type and Value

v0.6.1
  • Removed all debug messages unintentionally left in release
  • Added preset options for Trash Quality and Fishing Bait items
v0.6
  • Preparing for localization. Moved many of the texts to it's own file. Almost 90% i would guess.
  • Added the option to track/ignore different loot sources
  • Changed Off/On preset behaviors to Prompt/Destroy/Junk/Keep, your previous settings will be migrated to Prompt (previously Off) and Keep (previously On), you may choose freely any option in between.
  • Fixed a behavior where the Add-On migh want to track inventories other than your own bagpack
  • The decision-making order is now clearly given. The Add-On acts as follows: Preset Rules > User Stored Rules > Prompt for Rule. The Preset Rules have an order of Quality > Traits > Trade Skill

v0.5 is the first public release. Here you will find changes after that.

Thanks

This AddOn was made possible by the extensive wiki esoui.com has on AddOn development. So THANKS! You can check the wiki out at http://wiki.esoui.com

I'd also like to thank my guild mate, Garkin for his help, support and for providing extracted base ESO - UI files.

Special thanks to Seerah and the community contributors for LibAddonMenu-2 and LibStub. It made creating a configuration menu easy! Check it out here:
- LibStub
- LibAddonMenu-2.0

Thanks to ingeniousclown for the original work and Randactyl for continuing with AdvancedFilters addon. It kinda helped me put together which ITEMTYPE is which crafting material. And I use it since it was released
- Advanced Filters

Thanks to Pawkette for the original and Flagrick for the continuation of LootDrop. I learned (probably badly) how to work with received loot. Altough i gave up on OnItemLooted, the SINGLE_SLOT_UPDATED works (probably) just fine I didn't do all the fancy-pantsy stuff that LootDrop does. Nope. Works for me, it "should" work for you too
- LootDrop

Latest version also contains cironia's LibNeeded4Research. Thanks for this awesome library, helped a lot to implement researchables

The rest and most thanks goes to you guys that willingly install my first-ever add-on. Sweetrolls all around Don't forget to report problems and post feedback, comments section at esoui.com for now, next release will see a dedicated forum post.

Note
This addon might not be for everyone. I did it for myself, and pretty early on decided to try and share it with the rest of you. This is my first experience with LUA -or- in fact Add-On programming. Feel free to leave feedback, requests and bug reports.

Will this use the rules set up for looting NPCs (and I assume boxes and containers) on the bank and mail also?

Let's say I have 100 of a specific style item saved in the bank for future use.
Let's also say I have the addon set to automatically delete any of that style item I loot because I don't want any more.
Now, if I open the bank will the addon delete the items from the bank since it's set to delete that item now?
Will it delete the items if I remove them from the bank to use them?
Or does the addon ignore "looting" stuff out of your bank?
How about if a friend sends me one because I suddenly need one. Will it delete that when I take it from the mail?
Does it also apply delete rules on the results of deconstructing stuff at crafting stations?

If it deletes items from the bank that could be disastrous if you have loot rights in a guild bank.

Sorry for drilling you with questions even though I have not used the addon yet.
This addon looks pretty useful. It appears to allow us to be more specific on what to trash.
I'm a bit bored at the moment and unable to access the game so went crazy with questions.
I hope you enjoy your entry into addon writing!
That's a fair point. As of now, if you receive any item from any source the add-on will detect that and use either a preset rule, a rule made by you via diallog or promt you for action. This affects items that have gone into your primary inventory tho, so if you open a bank it will not touch it.

I'll modify this behaviour in the next update, as I see your point. Probably making options for loot sources, if possible. It might end up only being able to recognize only "looted" items.

Thank you for your comment!
