Any info about an ETA for a fix to categories in Inventory menu? Lua errors when I open the map are a problem for me too, not sure if you're able to reproduce that.

Something is not right with this addon. I like the concept, but the menus are not working correctly. As the previous poster explained. Also, mark as junk is not even listed as an option.

Love this addon, but running into some issues with it.

- Inventory menu always opens up on the leftmost category, but actual item list is whatever was previously opened, so they don't match. It's very confusing

- Sometimes get this lua error when I open minimap (happens when I open it while exploring or when I go there from Journal -> Quests but not 100% of the time): Duplicate keybind: UI_SHORTCUT_LEFT_STICK. Before: gamepad_inventory_root (To Crafting Bag). After: gamepad_worldMap (Legend). I only get this error when Inventory module is enabled.

- I get a similar lua error when depositing in guild bank or selling to NPC vendor, but haven't had it since disabling inventory module.

Other addons I am running: Advanced UI, Azurah, Chat Window Manager, Skyshards, LoreBooks, Destinations, MitigationPercent, No Compass, S'rendarr

I couldn't say whether my issues are from BetterUI alone or whether they only occur when BetterUI is used in combination with these other mods, but the issues all stop happening when BetterUI is removed. The improved inventory UI is really great, I'd love to be able to use it. Is anyone else having these issues?

Mod isn't working for me. I believe I have it installed to the correct directory, as it shows up in the Addons menu in game. I can enable/disable it and get the UI reloading screen, but all I get is the normal gamepad UI. I don't get any of the screens shown in the screenshots.

One thing I tried is installing the "Disable Controller UI" mod linked to in the mod description. When I install that mod, and also have Gamepad Enabled, I get a message in chat saying

[BUI] Initializing BUI...
[BUI] Finished! BUI is loaded

That message does not show up if Disable Controller UI is not loaded, and regardless of whether Gamepad is enabled in Gameplay settings. This is my first time installing a UI mod, so not sure what the problem might be.

Edit: I have now successfully installed other mods. Advanced UI, Wykkyd, Azurah, S'rendarr all work together just fine but BetterUI doesn't seem the load at all.

Anyone else had this happen? Any ideas about fixing it?

Edit edit: My fault, there was an entry for Better UI under Addons in Settings that I had not noticed before. Once I enabled the modules, it started working. Thanks for the great mod!

so I hopped onto eso this morning after updating this lovely addon and when I got in game I noticed that the research helper doesnt show up when im in a crafting bench anymore, do I need to enable something else or is this a small bug?

Thanks for the support, it means a lot

And the issue with the "Daily Writ" module is that the writ names are actually found using the *names* of the Writ quests. This means that I need to know some examples for German writs to be able to find them out! Can you help there? I don't know German, so I'm kinda stuck

I've actually removed the code that displays the health text, so it can't be BetterUI causing your issues. I don't know which other addon is applying health text, but the code that *used to* display text labels has been deleted!

edit: Ok, so the old health text code is located in the local function "BUI_UpdateAttributeBar" (in Tooltips.lua), but it isn't called! I will remove the left-over code just to be sure, but you should also take a look at other addons causing this issue. The next update will include a large amount of code-clutter reduction,as I have noticed quite a lot of now-redundant code in the scripts

Ok, so I've thought about how to improve the category list inside [Enhanced Inventory], and this is how it's going to change with the next larger update:

There is going to be 2 "super-categories", which are above the main categories. One will select the Crafting Bag, and the other will select the Inventory.
Inside each supercategory, there will be the following lists

Crafting Bag contains: ALL, Blacksmithing, Clothing, Woodworking, Alchemy, Enchanting, Provisioning, Style/Trait Gems
Inventory contains: ALL, Weapon, Apparel, Consumable, Materials, Miscellaneous, JUNK

This setup will allow me to add a new toggle to turn OFF the crafting bag with relative ease

Quest items should appear in "All", but considering the recent update changing a LOT of the menus around, I will actually verify this claim. I will keep you posted.

@Daeymon: I had some issues with not being an ESO Plus member last month (most of the recent update was developed without ESO plus!), it turns out you can put stuff INTO the bag, but not take items OUT. I have to wait for ZOS to release a patch that allows me to disable/enable ESO plus with a boolean to iron out such features which involve the Crafting Bag. You can see progress on this request here, I will periodically bump the thread so Chip keeps noticing it

I will probably create a "Misc" tab which contains Quest items, and non-quickslottable consumable items. Seems like a great idea! Thanks

Hi thanks for working on improving the gamepad ui. Its much better with this.

One thing I cant find is quest items in inventory. I searched through all the comments and dont see that mentioned so I assume im missing something obvious.

I guess the switch would be aimed for those who don't have access to the crafting bag, due to not being subscribers. As we don't have access to it in any form, might as well have the option to hide it.

I don't mind the two being merged up, kinda makes sense, but it seems any consumables you cannot assign don't appear on the new version. This leaves containers only on the ALL tab. Being able to go to the consumables category to quickly crack open a container was certainly very convenient.
