Welcome to LorePlay, Soulless One!

Morrowind update!

Zenimax did a fantastic job making ESO feel immersive and beautiful, but I'm taking that just one step further.
LorePlay is an immersive roleplay addon designed to help bring your character to life whilst wandering Tamriel.
With the adaptive SmartEmotes, IdleEmotes, and LoreWear features, you'll be more engaged with your character than ever.

SmartEmotes
ZOS has provided a plethora of emotes, however many are not used to their full potential.
SmartEmotes expands the way your character experiences and reacts to the land of Tamriel.
Did you swim in a bit of water that was just a tad too cold? You'll certainly have the shivers!
Did you destroy an innocent creature? Maybe you should pray to Y'ffre for forgiveness.
And with SmartEmotes, you can.

Features:
  • Perform appropriate and adaptive emotes with the press of a button!
  • SmartEmotes button is bindable
  • Optional UI indicator lets you know when to perform special emotes
  • Adaptive to location (now housing)
  • Adaptive to level-ups
  • Adaptive to combat and killing bosses
  • Adaptive to friends and strangers when hovering over them
  • Adaptive to lockpicking situations
  • Adaptive to useful loot
  • *NEW!* Adaptive to Mara commitments!
  • Adaptive to much more!
  • Optional adaptive Significant Other recognition in Settings menu
  • ...and many more environmental situations

IdleEmotes
Are you wandering Tamriel, and your character just needs to stop for a brief rest?
Maybe do some quick jumping jacks? Take a quick sit on the nice Valenwood grass?
Maybe you just need to go AFK for some reason, but regardless, you shouldn't just stand there!
And with IdleEmotes, you won't.

Features:
  • Go idle or AFK (not moving, not fighting, not stealthing) and your character will perform automatic emotes!
  • IdleEmotes are context sensitive
  • Adaptive to location
  • Adaptive to housing
  • Adaptive to much more!
  • Can optionally perform emotes even while in the menu
  • Configurable emotes in the Settings menu (Can dance, Can exercise, and more)
  • Toggleable in the Settings menu
  • Keybind can toggle IdleEmotes quickly, in case emotes are not appropriate at the time
  • Configurable duration between emotes

LoreWear
When out venturing across Tamriel, you will certainly need some armor.
But what about when you are taking a stroll through town?
With LoreWear, you will always be dressed appropriately for any occasion.

Features:
  • Automatically equips your favorite outfit sets when appropriate!
  • Contextual City, Housing, Dungeon/Delve, and Adventure outfit sets
  • Save any 'Appearance' collectible in your stylish outfits
  • *NEW!* Vanity pets interchangeable with your favorite outfits!
  • Adorn your favorite set at anytime with a keybind
  • Toggleable in the Settings menu
  • Configurable in the Settings menu (Can equip while mounted, and more)

For Users:
Thank you for trying LorePlay! This is my first addon, so feel free to leave your feedback and suggestions, as that's what is going to truly get this addon moving in the right direction. I plan on releasing updates with many more features and fine-tunings as well. Much is on the to-do list but in order for me to prioritize certain things, I first want to find out your opinions. Thanks again so much everyone, and safe travels in Tamriel!

fps 0 combat lag

This is a great addon, really helps immersion.

That said, on the NA server it seems to cause massive lag in combat. Really came to a head in Maw, where I had to relog several times. As soon as combat ends, the framerate gets back to the 40-60 range. Tried cranking down some of the graphics settings, but that does not help.

It "feels" like a buffer is filling, somewhere, since relogging appears to fix the fps issue temporarily. The framerate then drops after a while, which is pretty serious when you tank a lot. Disabling the addon completely fixes the issue, so I know it has something to do with the problem. I doubt the GTX 1050ti is the issue.

Hope this helps. I'd rather not have to disable LorePlay each time I do a trial ...

Hello Justinon,

I found out that the Lore Wear ist not working for City and Adventure because of the german client.
I would love to help you with the translation for regions and cities. Can you send me some info what you would need to make it work for the german client?

  • City uses the Dungeon settings.

  • Lore Wear works perfectly with Housing and Dungeon.
I tried many times to set everything new, even deleted the lua variables but no success.
Tried many different costumes.
Deactivated all options but "Use Favorite Costume".
Disabled all other AddOns.

Costume change not working well

Hello, was so happy to find this addon, because I woluld like to change my costumes in some situations. As reported by others before not all situations are working.
Housing works fine.
The other events City and Adventure put on the Dungeon Costume.
It would be very nice if you could fix it :-)

And would it be possible to ad some more costume-events, like swimming, crafting, etc. ?

I have seen a Video about your addon, that shows buttonst to choose favorite costumes and click on the icon apearing on top left corner sets something.
I have only the the 4 Buttons to set costume: housing, city, adventure, dungeon.

I hope youre working still on this addon... i would be so happy to get it working right.

Kind regards.

Outfits

Can we get more slots for outfits? This is the only Addon that does anything like this and when people have a lot to work with it'd be nice to have a more extensive range of outfits.

Bug with inventory and changing 1st/3rd person view

Hey, first of all I'm loving this mod! It's been amazing. However, I've been facing a quite annoying bug. Whenever I open the inventory(I) or my collection(U), if I'm on 1st person(which I am most of the time), the camera switches to 3rd person when I close it. Sometimes it doesn't happen, though that is quite rare compared to how often it does. Turning Camera Spin Disabler on and off seems to work right now but it's not the first time I think I've solved it. It might come back later.

The mods I have installed in addition to this one are Lorebooks, Skyshards and ESO Theatre II. I hope I have fixed this by myself cause this bug has been annoying me a lot and I really don't want to uninstall this addon which I have been enjoying a lot(except for the bug).

I hope my information helps you find what is causing this bug and fix it somehow(if it's not totally on my end). Thanks for the mod!

Horses

Thank you so much for such an amazing addon! It really does add a lot of the immersive factor to the game. Is it possible to add changing horses to the LoreWear section? I would absolutely love being ablee to do that, especially while being out and about. . .

Feature Request

Let me start by saying this addon is FANTASTIC!!!

I was wondering if it is possible to add an option to control showing/hiding the helm for each outfit set?

Not a huge issue but annoying anyway is that the "disable camera spin" can't be toggled off and always reverts back to on when I leave the menu screen.

My apologies, i was not seeking to 'Knock' this addon at all, and I'm sorry if it came across as such. I was merely pointing out that I'm having problems with it and asking if anyone else using it was having the same issues. I was hoping someone would say 'Yes! I had that problem and this is what I did to solve it.' But as it happens I've sorted most of it out now, although I still don't trust the context sensitive emotes even though I've switched off the drunk, dance and play instrument options. but that wasn't my main interest in this mod, I mainly wanted the Lore Wear features which work perfectly. I can comment on pets, as I never use them out of principle.

Context Sensitive Emotes:
I had to turn this feature off in the end, as it seemed obsessed with portraying all of my characters as drunk, dancing, musicians. Even my Altmer scholar seemed to spend all his time falling over or dancing around like an idiot. So, i turned it off and went back to using Idle Animations.

Lore Wear:
This was the main interest i had in this AddOn, but having saved my City Wear and Adventure Wear I quickly realised it wasn't changing automatically when I enter or left cities. I wasn't too bothered by that as I don't always want to change outfits in cities anyway.

However, I did want to be able to change outfits quickly, so i saved my outfits and bound the Force Change option to NumKeys on my keyboard. Oddly this seemed to work perfectly for my first two characters and then stopped working for my third, and I'm not really sure why.

The saving of the costumes is being acknowledged in chat, and the keybinds are recorded in controls. but when I press Num4 (City Wear) or Num5 (Adventure wear) nothing changes. Strange Num6 (AutoEmote) does seem to work, although the choice of emote seems a bit random.

Not sure whats going on, is there a limit to the number of outfits that can be saved for an account.
With regard to the IdleEmotes, there are toggleable options in the menu that let you disable certain features you don't like. Second of all, you're 'dancing around like an idiot' in cities, where other players gather and often play instruments, etc. Again, disable it if you want. It's always cool when people actually try things before knocking them

With LoreWear, I'd be curious to know what cities you believe are not properly being detected. I've run around numerous times of multiple different characters and never ran into a problem, so please let me know. I'm sure it's working, I believe you aren't properly setting your outfits. It changes COLLECTIBLES, NOT GEAR (at least not yet. I'm working on that now). Ensure that you have the numlock set and all that, again, I use the numkeys as well and they work perfectly fine. My guess is you're not within the actual city limits, or you're already wearing what you have set as your city outfit. If you truly think something is wrong, you could always check your saved variables and see if the outfitTable values are being set to numbers other than 0 for each character. One issue I've ran into is with pets; the shroom-beetle for some odd reason is behaving differently than all the other non-combat pets. The name is saved incorrectly, and its value as well. However all other vanity pets seem to be working, at least for me. Very odd, I suspect it's something on ESO's end but I'm not sure. I'll keep looking into it.

There is no limit to how may outfits you can have per account; it's merely per character.
