Description
Have you ever been in a situation where you need more skill points but you have no idea where to get them? Well today is your lucky day! Urich's Skill Point Finder provides a graphical interface showing all of the skill points you have (and haven't) earned throughout the entire game. You can show or hide the window by binding a hotkey or by entering the slash command. Slash command information is below.

Please Note
From Version 5.1.0 you need to separately install: LibTableFunctions-1.0 and LibAddonMenu-2.0

Localization
Localization for Russian, German, French, and Japanese is included. I speak only English so I am very sorry if a translation is incorrect. My only available source was Google Translate. Please message me if you see a translation that can be improved or shortened where space is an issue. Also feel free to provide a complete translation for another language if you would like to see it added to a future update.

Slash Commands
  • /uspf - Show or hide the USPF window.
  • /uspf help - Display help information in the chat window.
Known Issues/Complications
  1. The Folium Discognitum is a scroll that awards two skill points on use. Because the Folium is a scroll and not a book, it is not possible to determine if if you have earned those points besides comparing the number of earned skill points with the number of expected skill points + 2. There is an override in the settings menu if this information is not correct for your character.
  2. There are skill points awarded upon completion of tutorial quests for Morrowind and following chapters characters. If you skip the quest you'll get the skill point but the addon will not be able to determine that. There are override options in the settings menu for these skill points if this information is not correct for your character.

I'll research this as soon as the PTS updates and our characters are removed as there is a limit on the number of characters that can be deleted per day and I need slots. The issue here with the Broken Bonds quest (and now with The Mind Trap quest being added with Summerset) is that the quest that grants the skill point is not connected to anything besides the quest "completion" itself. There is normally an achievement or an iteration thereof which is tied to most other quests that award a skill point. I'll add an override if there's no simple way to verify completion. Either way, there'll be something in the next update which I plan to release on Summerset patch day.

I too have often found myself wondering what I've completed on other characters so I definitely see the value in what you're asking. It's something I've been wanting to implement for a while. The reason I haven't done it is because that information would need to be stored in the saved variables for each character which means logging in on each character for updates and adding in event handlers whenever something changes. As of right now, the addon's written to simply check the information when the window is displayed. I would say that this enhancement is unlikely for the patch day update but we'll see.

There is an issue that if you skip the Morrowind tutorial it will show up as if you hadn't gotten the skillpoint. But I am clearly level 3 with 3 skill points (you don't start with a skillpoint at level 1).

Being able to "stretch" the whole window would be great and should make the text big enough to be easier to read. I know several addons that you can scale the size of the window which in turn makes the text bigger, so that would be awesome if you can do it. I do really like the addon it's just really hard to read at the moment. I hope you can make it work

There is no UI based means of increasing the font size because the window and internal controls (text holders) would not adjust to accommodate text that does not fit within a given container. Simply increasing the font size is easy but the text will either disappear or trail off (...), I'm not sure which. I'll implement it if I can find a workaround and still make the window possible to use on smaller screens or find a way to make it "stretch to fit."

Is there anyway to make the font size larger? I looked at each of the different fonts in the mod and couldn't find anything. I like the mod but the font size is really hard for me to read without getting right up on my monitor.

I just pushed an update which you should be seeing soon. There is no force override for the Folium but the issue of duplicate racial passives has been resolved so you should be all set.

I believe I've located the issue that's causing this as well as the miscount in Spent Skill Points. Basically, several races share some racial passives. Unfortunately, when iterating the tree these get double counted. I'm looking into methods for not duplicating these. The following races and racial passives are affected. If you have one of these races and put a point into the listed passive, it will be double counted.

Breton and High Elf - Gift of Magnus
Imperial and Redguard - Conditioning
Khajiit and Bosmer - Stealthy

So I originally thought about doing it this way and even had a rough version of it coded out. But that goes way back to the original release where there were no saved variables. Brute force is going to be a last resort but I think there may be a more elegant solution after seeing what GioBozza pointed out.

You know, I think you might just be right. I noticed the same exact thing on my characters where the Skill Type (Racial) is showing more points invested than the Skill Line points and I'm certain that this has to do with the racial passive changes over time. I'm hoping to have a chance to look at it this weekend. Thanks for pointing it out.

The Folium has been a source of nightmares for me with this addon because the damn thing doesn't actually exist from the API's perspective. I am showing one too many points on my main and I've not been able to determine why. It's almost like I completed something but I was not awarded the point. Do you have a source of info for the public dungeon group events bug? Maybe it's related.

All in all, my main focus was to try to make this more of a checklist for skill point sources than a compiler for total skill points. I think it does that fairly well but this API...
I'm pretty sure this issue is related to the passive rework back in v2.5.0.
I noticed my skill points difference is 5 (skillPoints = 249, skillPointsDiff = 244) while it should be 2 (I took the Folium).

Double checking with the SpentSkillPoints addon, I noticed that my Racial category had 12 spent skill points while my imperial skills had just 9, so I guess the API returns the old renamed passive as separate in available skill points.

EDIT: my second (newly created) redguard character has the same issue, I still need to do the mages guild quest and have a difference of 3, while it should be 0, always related to racial passives.

I'm posting a screenshot to make it clear. The numbers to the side of categories refer to used skill points:

I noticed that another file had some problems with that when characters were created or deleted - the coffer timer - I have created AND deleted many characters recently, could that be tied to the problem? I would really like to use this utility
