Junkee 2018  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.84
by: Phuein [More]
Gift me @phuein in-game, if you have extra crowns and appreciate my addons. (Ask me which DLC I didn't get yet!) Thank you!

Updating the previous works of Thenedus and then Denidil, which were functional but neglected.

I extended Junkee's original functionality, and also with time have added extra options that come disabled by default - and may not fit the original concept.

Features:
  • Keybinds for Junk / Unjunk, Destroy, Link to Chat, and Lock item.

  • Options to Hide any of the keybindings from the Inventory screen - only to prevent clutter. They are still active!

  • An option to save the settings per character or for the entire account.

Extra:
  • /gl group-leave and /gd group-disband slash commands.

  • /d slash command that automatically puts text into a /script d(text) format.

  • Mouse middle-click to copy an Inventory, Mail Inbox item name, or Chat player name into chat and select it, for quick copying.

  • An option to hide the Main Quest from your Journal and Quest Tracker.

  • An option to show in chat when zone-chat has changed. (Only after any zone chat activity - to reduce spam.)

  • An option to shorten guild names in chat to their abbreviations.

  • An option to start the game in /zone chat, instead of the default /say.

  • An option to block AutoInvite messages in zone chat, so you won't see one (1) character messages like "x" and "y".
NOTE: Disabled when AutoInvite is detected and Enabled.

  • Options to add Send Mail and Visit Primary Residence to the right-click menu option of player links in chat.

  • An option to minimize the chat when the inventory is opened.

  • An option to maximize the chat when a store is opened.

  • An option to track and alert for each guild when a player joins or leaves it.

  • /vet chat command to toggle your group difficulty mode (in dungeons, trials, and arenas.)

  • /cyro chat command to queue and accept into your assigned home campaign.

  • An option to display AP in your Inventory, under Gold.

  • An option to minimize the chat when the skills window is opened.

  • A keybinding to toggle display name (same as Settings -> Interface.)

  • An option to hide the compass. (Scales the frame to 0 to avoid compatibility issues.)

  • /imp chat command to queue and accept into CP Imperial City.

Keybindings are in Controls -> Keybindings -> User Interface Shortcuts -> Junkee 2018. Scroll down to find it. I recommend Junk = Z, Destroy = Shift+Z, Link = F2 , and Lock = Tab. (Can't use a writing key while chat is active, so an F key is easier.)

Broken in 2.4

Hi, I've noticed that this addon breaks interacting with banks and similar.

Pressing the key (which works fine in other contexts) has no effect. ie. I can't deposit or withdraw by keyboard but have to right-click and select the appropriate option, and even sometimes that does not work.

Edit: actually, it seems to be inventory handling in general, anywhere the addon is active. And it seems intermittent, as in sometimes it works (but usually it does not). Not sure if this is triggered by something else or not, but it is easily reproducible at a bank.

Unloading this addon and all seems to work.

I am using the ESO client for Mac.

Edit2: FIXED! Thanks for the fast update. :-)

That looks like a bug. Shouldn't be there. Do you get that every time it prints the zone name? Is it always "hr"?

I'm cleaning up the code for this right now, so maybe this next update will fix that. Do tell if it works or not.

Would you be willing to add an option for it to alert us any time we change zones? I'm not concerned with spam, and only want to use the feature if it shows every time my chat zone changes.
I uninstalled NowTalking thinking I could get Junkee to do exactly that.

I'm glad we managed to resolve your issues. Took a while to find that outdated unfriendly addon.

I'm not interested in a general zone tracker, but you can PM me here to negotiate it. It does make sense to use another small addon that gives that specific functionality.

I see that I didn't clarify in the settings that the zone chat tracker is "smart." This is from the description page of this addon:

It doesn't alert you if the zone has changed, if no activity occurred in zone chat. This is probably your issue. Right?

I made it that way to reduce spam, as I only wanted zone-tracking for conversations; to know if a current conversation is halted because my zone changed without me knowing (such as in some instances.)

I'll add this to the option tooltip to clarify it!

The other issue is the AutoInvite spam. Is this resolved when disabling LibChat3 and libGarfield then? I'm curious to know exactly which addon blocked the chat function.

Unhappy Zone Notifications Don't Always Work

I literally ONLY have these enabled:
Addon Selector
Junkee 2018
Votan's Keybinder
Votan's Settings Menu
LibAddonMenu-2.0
LibDialog
LibMainMenu-2.0
LibStub

And Junkee's "Track Zone Changes" does NOT work consistently.
Do you use this function yourself?
Because sometimes it works when traveling from zone to zone (via wayshrine), sometimes it doesn't.
For example, I went to Northern Elsweyr. I got a chat notification.
I then went to Craglorn. No chat notification.
I then went to Alik'r Desert. No chat notification.
I then went to Auridon. I got a chat notification.
I went back to Craglorn. I got a chat notification.
I went back to Alik'r Desert. I got a chat notification.

Just to make sure, you went into your addons list, unchecked it, and then did a /reloadui, right? This is for any addons I ask to disable. Also, disable all the addons I mention, as one OR MORE can cause this issue.
Yes.
I went into the addons list, unchecked them, and did a /reloadui. Junkee 2018 worked, until I used a wayshrine to zone. And then those specific Junkee 2018 settings stopped working again.

I think I narrowed it down to LibGarfield.
"LibGarfield monitors and ensures that libChat3 (or oldest) remains active while loading after login or `/reloadui`."
So it keeps libChat3 enabled, even if I disabled it, as long as libGarfield is enabled? What kind of trickery is that?????

So... I disabled Chat Mentions and libChat3 AND libGarfield and Junkee's "Hide AutoInvites in Zone Chat" is working as intended again.
I really liked Chat Mentions, but it requires both libChat3 and libGarfield. What's your suggestion on how to proceed with Chat Mentions? Do you think it's something the addon author could fix? Or is it something broken with libGarfield, you think? Or..... ?
But, "Track Zone Changes" still is not. It works after a /reloadui, but not after I use a wayshrine to go to a new zone.
I tried disabling "NowTalking" since it does the same thing, just in a more preferred way, and "Track Zone Changes" still isn't working.
I also tried disabling pChat because it includes the library libChat2. But it didn't fix the "track zone changes" issue.

Also, disable libGarfield as it's related to LibChat3.

EDIT: I should also mention that I don't use pChat (a neglected addon.) Can try disabling that, as well. Make sure all of the addons I mentioned are disabled, when trying again.

Alright. I'm seeing that the addon Guild Advertisment Filter over-writes the game's chat function. Try disabling this one and tell me if it works.

It wasn't... I guess.
Once again, Junkee hid when I typed "x" into chat... until I used a wayshrine and went to another zone. Then Junkee stopped working again, like before.

A large list of addons looks intimidating, but isn't for an oldtime developer The prime canditate for interfering with Junkee's chat-related options is: ChatMentions. Which relies on libChat3.

Disable only those two and tell me if it works.
