I decided to maintain BuffTimers addon.

What is this exactly?
With this you can make completely stand-alone timer bars for one specific spell each. You just go in settings (see pictures), choose how many bars you want, and then choose for every bar what spell it should show, also the size, colors and optional notifications(sound+text) can be customized.


READ BELOW BEFORE USE!
The name of effect is not always the same as the spell that causes it. (ex: Elemental Drain from Destruction Staff skill line doesn't have the effect of own skill, need to use Minor Magickasteal for track) I included a debug mode that will output all effect changes into chat, activate it in settings, then use the spell you want to track and check how it's actually called.

  • Add buff-source setting (self caused buff only / all sources / external source only)
  • Allow to add custom hooks to various events (gain/update/fade) (e.g, start 'Acuity Fatigue' custom timer when 'Mechanical Acuity' fades
  • Add size/font settings to Notification

  • Add display style of timer in icon without bar

External buffs and debuffs

Can we have a setting per buff timer for making a buff to do one of 3 options: 1 be a self caused buff only, 2 allow the buff from external sources, 3 be only from external sources. The reason I want this is for 2 reasons, sometimes i get major ward/resolve or other buffs from my teammates so I dont have to waste resources on it myself. The second is for when I have specific debuffs from enemies I want to know about. This would be a great add and greatly appreciated. Thanks for maintaining this addon <3

v2.19.2 released

I added new feature of "Allow to drag icon to move the bar" from wish list.

You may need to re-adjust position of your bars by this change.
I'm sorry about that.

Created an account to thank you for making this amazing addon! It's so simple and useful.

However, I was hoping you could add a transparency setting to the icon & timer text (I like running my buff trackers at 65% transparency, however currently only the timer bar can have transparency).

Great work!

Thank you so much for your investigating the problem.

The "^f" string is just strange and i think it must be bug of API.
And i don't want to add string operation on every events.
It should have negative effect on the performance.

So plz try to use abilityId instead of effectName.
You can do it now on latest version.

Sry i can't even investigate by your information. need more details.
This addon didn't support multi-language files at all atm so I believe non-existence of french language file is not matter.

You have to use zo_strformat to remove "^f" :

works great with spell names , but I need to use the ID , replace the name with an ID - nothing happens
maybe syntax? or this possibility is not realized , thanks for the answer , and where to send in-game gold?

I've tested that werewolf transform.
The event doesn't have duration of transforming, so this addon can't treat it.

I just tried updating from the old "Bufftimer 1.4" to your "Bufftimer2" with saved variables not changed.

It didnt work out. Does one need to delete saved variables and reconfigure everything?

My issue was with "Crystal Fragments Proc". With old "Bufftimer 1.4", as soon as I used the instant frags, the timer disappeared - as it should be, since its a 1-time-use-feature per proc. With "Bufftimer2", the timer still counted down even after use. The debug clearly showed the "faded"-event, still the timer stayed visible.

Then I reentered the ID and later "Crystal Fragments Proc" again as event, both didnt work out at all. Now the timer doesnt appear or seems buggy.

Any hints about this? Should it work, i.e. when I do remove my saved variables and rebuild everything?
