Original addon: AdvancedFilters

Finally, Advanced Filters! The default inventory has type filters, but they're still WAY too broad. This add-on fixes that!

Features:
Main inventory, junk, bank, guild bank, guild store, vendors, craft bag and crafting tables support!
Subfilters to find exactly what you're looking for!
(Shift+)Right click the filter buttons/subfilter butons to show the dropdown filter context menu
Custom icon work that makes the add-on feel like it came with the game!
Empty subfilters are greyed out and inaccessible to help save you time searching! (settings to change that)
Shortens the time you need to find an item in your inventory!

AdvancedFilters does not support the gamepad mode!

Information
-> SavedVars were changed to Server dependent + Character ID (not name anymore).

If your icons are missing, logout, open your live/AddOns folder (described here how to find it: https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8858), switch to the /live folder, delete the file "ShaderCache.cooked". This will rebuild the texture cache on next login.
Also: Delete the folder live/AddOns/AdvancedFilters and then redownload it "manually" (not using Minion) and extract all properly to live/AddOns/AdvancedFilters again. Check the assets folder is provided in there properly withall of it's *.dds files. Allow Minion in your AntiVirus and AntiMalware tools the access to the live/ folder so it will extract the files and folders of AF properly.



Information for developers
ATTENTION: Please ALWAYS add the stringsEN, stringsXX keys, and the callbackTable name keys
with your UNIQUE adon/plugin identifier!!!
-> ALL texts will be stored inside AdvancedFilters.strings table and having the same key twice will overwrite existing ones of other plugins/AdvancedFilters!


AdvancedFilters supports your "Dropdown box filter plugins":
See the "AF FCO CraftedSets" plugin as a reference how to add a submenu to the dropdown box, having a nested submenu (1 for each crafted set name's 1st letter).
Check the "Other files" section of "AdvancedFilters - Updated" to find more dropdown filter plugin files.


-Updated the filterInformation for the plugins so it can only be shown at some of the filterGroups. The tag is named "onlyGroups".
-> The possible filterGroups can be found here: AdvancedFilters/constants.lua -> table "subfilterButtonNames".
-> The table contains subtables with the filtertype as the key (e.g. ITEMFILTERTYPE_WEAPONS) and the possible subfilterGroups as entries in these subtables (e.g.

Possible parameters:
name: The unique name of your callback table entry, used for the Strings table to translate it
filterResetAtStart: Reset the filter at the current subfilterPanel to "All" before applying the new filters from this callback table entry
filterResetAtStartDelay: Delay the execution of the function filterStartCallback and filterCallback by this milliseconds. The delay will happen AFTER the filter was reset to "All" (if enabled).
filterStartCallback: This function is called before the new filters are applied. Can be used to rebuild needed internal tables e.g.

Check the code of FCOCraftFilter so together with AdvancedFilters the changing of the shown items at a crafting panel (bag, bank, both) will change the subfilter buttons enabled/disabled state as well.

-DropdownCallback entries can use a new entry "addString = <string>" now. The <string> will be added to the name of the dropdown entry. The localization files need the entries for them too! This way you can easily add a suffix like "(medium)" or "(light)" or "(ring)" or "(neck)" to the armor/jewelry stuff to distinguish the traits/body parts of different armor classes.

ALL other entries of the filterInformation table will be used exactly the same for each of the filterType entries! If you need to use other parameters within filterInformation for each filterType you need to call it like today, split up into own tables + eacht ime a call to AdvancedFilter_RegisterFilter!

-Show the currently visible/filtered item count at the inventory's bottom info line. Where the inventory bag current space / total bag space is shown there is another dark orange (currently shown itemcount) entry now.
This works with AdvancedFilters filtered items (menu buttons, submenu buttons, dropdown filters).
FCOItemSaver and FCOCraftfilter are supported.

If you want your filter addon to upodate the AdvancedFilters filtered itemCount as well you can use the following function:

This is driving me nuts This still happens for you as the bank is opened and closed automatically by Dolgubons Lazy Writ Creator? Or when does this happen?

As I'm not getting this error message could I provide you a version of AF with more debug message output at this error message so I can get more details?

Yes this should be added by AdvancedFilters (if your setting is enabled to do so).
You mean the bank withdraw panel or the deposit?
Will have a look at it.

Not sure if this is functionality from this addon, but when you filter items from the bank, the count of the number of filtered items is listed in parenthesis at the bottom of the window.

It used to update as you switch categories and filters.

Now it seems to not be updating when you switch.

But if you close the bank and reopen the bank the count gets updated.

Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to make this work again.

Thanks for your reply. For what it might be worth:

(1) For Awesome Guild Store, I chose the tab to display when the Guild Store opens as "Listings" instead of "Sell". This significantly increased the frequency of the Advanced Filters 1.5.2.6 Error message, to occur about 3 out of each 4 times after I switch the UI from "Listings" to "Sell". So, I chose the tab to display instead as "Browse" (which I don't like, because opening the UI initiates a previous search that has most likely become meaningless). This reduced the frequency of the Advanced Filters error message to about 1 in 5 or 6 times after I switch from looking at "Listings" to "Sell", instead.

(2) After updating to Advanced Filters 1.5.2.7, however, I returned the Awesome Guild Store opening initial tab to "Listings". Afterward, the frequency of the Error became almost 100% when I switch from "Listings" to the "Sell" tab. The Error was not output only once after least 10 switches. Looking at the Advanced Filters Change Log, I cannot identify an explicit change that might have increased the frequency to near certainty. The 3 other add-ons which I also updated at the time have nothing to do with the Inventory UI, with the Bank UI, or Guild Trader UI. (The Error occurs while using the Bank Guild Store UI.)

On the face of it, there seems to be some interaction between Awesome Guild Store and Advanced Filters that causes this Error. Nonetheless, I have a hunch that the Game Client update on September 3 (Patch Notes v. 5.1.8) has something to do with these problems, because they never occurred before it was released. In my observation, ZOS cannot touch the game software without breaking something -- unrelated to any documented change -- that has been working for years. ....

I've added Havens Stolen Filters to the supported but it needs an update. Guess it's the same for this addon then. Just ignore the error message, the subfilter bar will just not be there.
If I find the time and will I'll add this addon as well but not sure how heavy this will be as Havens was already somehow tricky and needs to be changed to use LibFilters3.

It wouldn't... because then Loot'N'Steal would be deactivated and the filter would no longer be there. lol

Attempting to identify the source of an intermittent error such as this one requires playing TESO as I ordinarily would (1) without any add-ons or libraries loaded; then (2) with Advanced Filters, pChat, Circonians Addon Selector, and their required libraries loaded; then (3) enabling, one-by-one, each addon (and its required libraries) that I use with that specific character and resume playing without any other add-ons until the error occurs.

The question becomes: if the error does not occur, then how long should the player play with the current selection of add-ons before concluding that the error will not occur?
Right Shadowshire, your testing method is exactly what I'd have to do myself.
As every user palys differently it's the best way each user does the testing on their side so find the problem.
If the error does not occur one would need to guess if the time testing was long enough or not. That's the problem with this non reproducable errors I normally play like 10 minutes without the addons and try to do everything like I did before, to replay the steps where the error "might happen".

Most of the time I first test with the addons activated as the error happened and try to rebuild it first, or at least find steps which lead to the error (like switching between craftbag and inventory rapidly or switching between AdvancedFilters subFilter bar buttons (1hd weapons, 2hd weapons, then to filterButton Consumables and subfuilter buttons potion, poison, etc.).

sometimes when I open the Bank UI the Craftbag icon is active with its categories as column headings (Craftbag Extended). However, the items in the normal Bank UI default ALL category are listed -- not just items in the Craftbag.
I had this happening as well to me yesterday several times during my tests. Not sure if this is related to CBE and AdvancedFilters or will also happen with AF turned off. We would need to test this and if it's happening with only CBE active as well I guess we need to report it to the CBE author then.

Currently, 99 Add-ons are installed in the TESO ...\Addons folder (166 folders, of which 52 are Libraries and 15 are Master Merchant data files). They include Votan's Addon List, of course . A significant amount of time would be required to compose a list of all of them.
  • At any time, one or more of the installed add-ons might not be in use -- pending either correction of an addon error, or a decision whether to discontinue using the addon.
  • Several add-ons, such as Champion Point Slots, are enabled only while I use the corresponding game features that it modifies.
  • Some add-ons, such as Combat Metrics, are enabled only while my character will be in group combat -- such as World Boss groups or 4-player dungeons.
  • To improve performance, other add-ons, such as Master Merchant, are disabled before a character joins a group for combat activity.
  • A few add-ons, such as Healers Group Frame, are enabled only on one or two of the four characters.

Awesome Guild Store has the "Disable custom selltab filter" option set to "ON".

The Advanced Filters error message shown in the screenshots occurs on each of the 4 characters which I play almost every day. So, it is reasonable to assume that one or more of the numerous add-ons which are loaded by all four can be a source of a problem.

It's not remembering the last opened tab for me.
I am not sure whether I have encountered that error. It isn't clear to me which color you see (I am red-green colorblind). However, pChat was not configured to output System messages in red text. But, now I have configured pChat to output System messages in yellow text. So far, that seems to work unless the source of the message specifies its own color scheme.

In conclusion, I suppose that Circonians Addon Selector is useful for restoring disabled add-ons. But using it for any other purpose than testing whether an add-on is the source of a problem reveals some oversights in the design of its user interface. So, ordinarily, I do not have it loaded.

Thank-you for your reply. I will consider using the testing procedure as I described it above. Regardless, there are so many design flaws and programming bugs in the TESO software (without add-ons) that I wonder whether even reporting them is worth the time and effort.

Well, not able to really test this as I cannot reproduce it. Seems only to happen with the automatic bank close stuff of other addons, right?
I could deactivate the message in total but I won't see any real missing data then anymore
Not sure what to do else, all my tries seem to fail get and if I don't have steps to reproduce this EACH Time I cannot test in detail.

If you are able to tell me the steps to ahead please. Would be glad

On hand in there is no inventory action. So where do you hand this in please if not at an npc
Are you sure this is not happening as you try to craft the enchanting writ?

I can read something about "bank" on the top of your screenshot. Do you mean with hand in = open bank to get items from your bank via Dolgubons Lazy Writ Crafter or putting items to your bank AFTER hand-in of the items at the NPC?

Please describe in detail/steps when this error happens and what you did before, using what addons.
Does this happen if you hand in the writ with other addons deactivated as well? -> Please test this. Thanks
