inventory issue
Hi thank you very much for this addon i was dreaming of it for so long before finding it !!! i do have an issue tought since i download it im no longer able to open my inventory ... when i do i see a blank black window and then all my ui dissapear and im not even able to quit the game because i canot open any menu ... do you have aby idea what might be causing the problem ? i use inventory grid view addon could this not be supported ?

It's true, I love this addon but managing bank is a nightmare it just freezes for a few seconds whenever I withdraw or deposit (withdraw is worse). Bought a banker yesterday and now I use the bank quite often, finally I couldn't take the freezes/lag anymore. I disabled your addon and lag was gone, I disabled every addon bedies yours and lag was still there thats why I came here. I will uninstall it, even tho I don't really want to... |

Fellow Addon author here. A player reported a performance issue with my addon that is automatically moving items between backpack and bank. Upon investigation, it turned out that the actual "culprit" is your addon . I would highly recommend to look at your current hook implementation with ESOProfiler, it's a big performance hit whenever an item is deposited to / withdrawn from the bank; and it gets much worse once an addon comes into play that automates such item transfers. Here is one item transfer from backpack to bank: (Image-Link When depositing an item in the bank, your custom "prehookSort" function is called six(!) times per moved item. Starting with the first OnInventorySlotUpdated when the item is removed from the Backpack:
Adding a total of ~2.5 seconds of processing time per moved item. I had a quick look at your addon code and noticed the following in your AutoCategory_Hooks.lua (GitHub), respectively Hooks_Keyboard.lua (Addon folder): Lua Code:
I gave it a try and the only "problem" I found is that when you change from "Deposit" to "Withdraw" tab, the number of items in brackets is not updated for the ones I moved. But that's the only problem I found - on the other hand it was already much quicker (twice as fast basically). This counting problem could be solved however by hooking in to the change of selected tabs though. When you are in the "Deposit" window, then there is no need to execute all your logic all the time also for the "Withdraw" window - you can do that once when the player switches the selection (and of course vice-versa). This is just a low-hanging fruit I just noticed, but I'm sure there are more optimization opportunities (it also seems to take quite a lot of time to parse through all your rules). Maybe you can actually even detect if an item was removed instead of added; since I would imagine that you don't need to loop through all rules again as the item anyway disappears from the window and does not need to be categorized anymore. Incompatibility with some addons
So i dont know if im the first to notice but some plugins (some i dont know which are causing the issues) are causing screens to not show anything. For example the banker guild store, guild bank and personal bank wont show if advanced filters is enables. I dont know why this is happening because just this morning (aprox 12 hours ago) it was working just fine. i also tried opening my inventory with only just autocategory and it showed no items and upon closing all screen elements (minimap, health bar, skill bar etc etc) were missing. If you need a list of my addons used i will do my best to make a list of all of them.
Hopefully this can get fixed soon because i find the addon very useful. |

Companion Gear
Hi.
First of all, thank you so much for this awesome addon. I'm customizing my categories and I try to create a category for companion gear with a specific trait. Unfortunately iscompaniononly() isn't listing companion gear at all, even when I don't use further commands like traittype(armor_vigorous). Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance. |

AutoCategory - Revised does not support integration with Inventory Grid View anymore as it is a source for problems with many addons aside from us. I recommend the GridList addon instead which provides similar functionality, is up to date, and does not break other addons that I've noticed. |

The addon works fine! Disable all of your other addons and make sure all libraries are updated. And retest.

All menus are broken
When I install this addon, it breaks all of my menus. Esc won't even open a menu. Any of the in-game menus like inventory or character open the top bar, but not the dialog on the right. I get a background, but nothing else. I have to alt-F4 out of the game. Installed from Minion. Multiple errors, but I don't think the one referencing Inventory Grid View is the problem, unless it is a conflict between the two. They used to work together.

Re: ESO reads this addon as the old one
Log out of the game and uninstall your AutoCategory addon and remove the saved variables. Then, install "AutoCategory - Revised". Log into the game, and check the settings for AutoCategory, to verify that the settings page for AutoCategory says "AutoCategory - Revised" |

ESO reads this addon as the old one
Hi so I'm having some trouble with actually being able to use this addon because ESO actually reads this as the initial AutoCategory addon that is no longer compatible with the game.
I have tried installing it through Minion, uninstalled it there, installed it manually and it still is the same thing. This is the UI Error message that pops up when I turn on the AutoCategory addon (It does not have "-Revised" in the title) https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...27/unknown.png I'm not quite sure on what to do and I've been trying to fix this for about an hour or so and I'm slowly coming to my wits end. Can anyone please help me? |

What about using something like: ToolTipContains(string) That way the user enters their language specific text and the addon compares the tooltip text against the entered string. If it requires selecting an item for the tooltip to pop up before it can sort, that is acceptable. |
