DESCRIPTION
This addon includes some loot and stealing enhancements, and info displays.
As I personally dislike info-bars, I tried to find suitable spots to add these info.

/!\ Avoid using multiple addons that manages the actions of looting/stealing at the same time.
This can cause conflicts and may result in unwanted actions.
  • Add information!
⋅ Pick what to display: inventory space, count of fenced items, count of laundered items, fence reset timer…
⋅ Choose where to display: in loot window and/or in inventory,
⋅ Add a filter for "stolen" items in inventory,
⋅ Add bounty and infamy timers,
  • Prevent!
⋅ Prevent auto-loot when inventory space if below a certain limit,
⋅ “Smart Stealing” helps you by preventing accidental stealing. It will only allow stealing if hidden, and containers will be opened but not looted. Designed to be configurable! You can still get caught if you want to…
⋅ You can also use that addon if you're not using “Auto-loot” at all ; just make sure to set the preferred settings like you want!

so for some reason recently(i dont remember when it started i think a few days ago) i started having more than one stolen item filter button in my inventory i first noticed it when i had 6 and its slowly gone down to 4 but i was wondering what would be causing this.

Hey Shadowshire,

Can you confirm me if disabling the option to add the Stolen items category prevented the issue ?

Exclamation Re: Re: Severe EsoUI UI Error Upon Accessing Bags

(1) Yes, NTakLootSteal 1.84 was installed on 11/09/2019, the day the update was available. In retrospect, that was about the time that the issue began occuring.

(2) I seldom acquire an newly-developed add-on, which have become increasingly uncommon. I do use many other add-ons and check ESOUI for updates almost every day. So the only add-ons that I install are updates to ones which I already use. Which is to say that I don't recall finding or suspecting any interaction between NTakLootSteal and the other add-ons which have been loaded for the same session.

(3) I will reactivate NTakLootSteal and diable the option to add the Stolen Items category. My characters rarely have any stolen items. Someday maybe I will develop a Kajiiti Nightblade thief. But they probably will not become a member of the Dark Brotherhood.

Hey Shadowshire,

Sorry to hear you're encountering this issue.

Warning: Spoiler
As I am currently on a business trip in the other side of Earth, I won't be able to look/correct this issue at least until the 23rd of February (edit: The 1st of March, in last news).

Anyway, maybe a couple questions will help :
- Do you have the last version of my addon ?
- Did you install recently other addons that may have caused this issue ?
- Did it start happening after an update ?

As I am the very first user of all of my addons, I think I would have noticed this issue if it wasn't caused by some kind of co-activity or update !
Be sure that I'm looking forward to be able to correct that.

By the way, I guess this issue should be caused by the “Stolen Tab in inventory” feature.
You may want to try to unactivate it in the addon options and see if the issue is still happening.

Cheers,
N'Tak'

Arrow Severe EsoUI UI Error Upon Accessing Bags

While NTakLootSteal was loaded and running, the UI Error shown below would be displayed from time-to-time in the context of accessing the Bags of the character currently in play:

https://imgur.com/a/9QepPHD

Important: please read the sixth message in the following discussion in The Elder Scrolls Online forums, posted by Shadowshire in response to majulook. The *UPDATE section added to that reply contains the More Information values of Locals for each line of the UI Error dialog:

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.co...ses-gracefully

The UI Error did not occur each and every time that the Bags were accessed. However, it would occur on at least 95% of the occasions after my character completed a daily Crafting Writ at the Jewelry workstation in Sentinel, Alik'r Desert. It also occurred with at least one of my three other characters (once, immediately after the character loaded), but not as often or as predictably. So, over all, I never knew when or where it would occur, although I do not recall the UI Error being displayed while accessing the character's Bank.

Even more important: when the error began occurring, I soon discovered that the game client would either not display the contents of the Bags at all, or it would not display any item(s) which were added to a character's Bags both when the UI Error occurred and subsequently, too.

So, I had to Quit the game, then run Launcher and use the Game Options feature Repair Files before resuming play. Then the Bags UI would correctly display the content added to it. In other words, when this UI Error occurred, a process running in the game client would corrupt the game installation (!!!).

In conclusion: after I stopped loading NTakLootSteal, the UI Error has not been displayed.

By the way, having a distinctive name for an add-on is meaningless when it is such that a player is not likely to recall exactly what it is. The only way I found this Comment tab was by using Duck Duck Go to search for eso NTakLoot Steal . The ESOUI website search feature is virtually useless.

I've not created 2 versions, I'm only selecting the correct code to be executed according to the case.
Okay, sorry if I sounded rude, wasn't my intention.

Hm AdvancedFilters got nothing to do with this addon. They just share the library LibFilters3.not sure why your addon's stolen tab should only work with LibFilters if AF is enabled. I had tested the code with only LibFilters and your addon here enabled (several patches ago) and it worked fine. Weird, if it doesn't anymore today.

I'll have a look why it isn't anymore now. But creating 2 versions, one for AF & LibFilters, and the other with your old code, makes not really sense Imo as your old code was not compatible to AF and other filtering addons.

Now with 1.8.4, the stolen filter should work even if you're not using Advanced Filters (and its required library LibFilters).
I've added a condition to load whether my "old previous" implementation of that filter, or the new one compatible with Advanced Filters.
Let me know.

Cheers,
N'Tak'
Thank you so much, it works now

Edit:
After some testing, the stolen filter seems to work correctly only when using the Advanced Filters addon (with all its dependencies).
If we've got the LibFilters installed but not the Advanced Filters, it's not working.

Aww that's a shame, I have too many addons already, I would prefer not adding long-not-updated addons to the list, lest it break something. Guess I'll do without it, I can still sort by stolen status I guess.

It would probably be a pain in the ass because technically they aren't even items, but quest log entries displayed in your inventory (I use GroupLootNotifier and it doesn't read these because they aren't looted items). And I'm not sure there is even something to distinguish the container of quest "items" from normal containers

edit: turning off autoloot in Gameplay settings and turning it on in the addon doesn't do anything for me, no autolooting takes place when interacting with any container (corpse, harvest, chest etc).
Hey Howell,

I've indeed find a case where the autoloot is not correctly applied, I've corrected in my local version and I'll soon upload it. Thanks for reporting that.
