JunkBuster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.91
by: ADH, Atoom
Now compatible with 8.2.0 Firesong!

This addon provides a rule-based system to put items in your junk bag or destroy them

Unlike the other automatic junking addons, JunkBuster allows you to filter items by any combination of the following criteria:
  • Name
  • Item Type
  • (Specialized) Item Type
  • Equipment slot
  • Weapon/Armor type
  • Level
  • Price
  • Quality
  • Trait
  • Actor type (Player or Companion)
  • Item is crafted or not
  • Item is stolen or not
  • Item has a set bonus or not
  • Recipee is known or not

For example, you can set it to only junk the ingredients you loot that have 0g price value, or the normal quality (white) stolen treasures (but not the green ones).

Other Features:
  • The addon can automatically sell junked items to a merchant (not stolen items) or a fence (stolen items) when visiting them
  • You can add exemption rules that save and unjunk any special item that you want skipped by junkBuster
  • You can add rules to DESTROY items upon looting
Warning: Be very careful with the destroy option. Destroyed items CAN NOT be returned.

The screenshots show some sample rules that I use when playing.
There is an extended logging option available which provides the info for every looted item in the chatbox so you can fine-tune or make new junking rules.

Planned future additions:
  • Allow <=, >=, == selections for item quality
  • Add support for FCO Item Saver
  • Allow addon to apply rules to (guild) bank too?

HALP!

For the life of me I cannot get this add on to work. Do I have to do something special to make the items get updated? I have logged out and in again as well as reloadUI and banking and taking items back out. The add on wont seem to update anything at all. The only things I have changed, is I unchecked the allow to destroy option at the top and I added a couple rules to make it junk any weapon with the Weapon Ornate trait. No dice... any ideas?

Also, I have alot of alts. Is there anyway to copy my rules from one character to another. I am even ok with changing config files or something if I have to, I just really don't wanna have to do this for all 10 of my characters.

Hello linuxhell,
the reason your rules do not work is that Decorative Wax is a item of the type "Furnishing material" not "Furnishing". The latter that you used is the type of the actual items you can place in a house (like a chair), and the first is a crafting material needed to make those. Sadly I haven't updated the list of item types in the addon for some time so the type "Furnishing material" isn't available for rules yet. I plan to rectifiy that soon.
In the meantime just make a rule to select a normal item with the name "Decorative Wax", without any item type selected. It should work the same as with an item type selected because there is no other item in the game whose name contains "Decorative wax". At least I don't know any. If you're not sure don't make a delete rule, only a junking one. That way you won't immediatly loose an item if I'm wrong with that assumption.

Re: Re: Rules List Goes Bye-Bye After 42+ Filters

Thanks for your report Psyche . I've analyzed the problem and it definitely was only a display issue. All the rules still worked as intended.

There seems to be a limit on how many characters and/or lines a single description box in the settings menu can handle. As all rules were displayed within one single box they vanished after exceeding that limit. Sadly I couln't figure out exactly how this limit works so I implemented and tested a preliminary fix for it.
Split the rules up into different descripiton boxes. It isn't possible to add more boxes at runtime without a /reloadui so there is a limit on how many rules fit into them. But it shouldn't happen anymore that all rules don't get displayed, just new rules won't show up anymore after exceeding the maximum count (can still be deleted and will be executed though). As the amount of rules per box depends of their length the maximum number of rules can vary a lot. Between 40 (ridiculously long using all the options) and 235 (very short with just one option). The average number till no new ones will show up should be around 100 I think. That uncertainty is also the reason while I haven't implemented a hard limit on how many rules you can have. Just bear in mind that all rules are evaluated for every item you get, so if you have too many rules that could result in performance issues while playing.
I have tested the new update and it's exactly the right amount of badass. This works as a great solution to that problem for now! Here's a picture for anyone who wants to see the new, extended functionality in place. Working with a longer list is now much more convenient:

My hat goes off to you! Thanks for continuing to keep one of the greatest addons going. You're the man. -Psyche

Further, the only way to restore the visual of your list is to delete enough rules to bring you below it's acceptable amount again using the Delete rule [#]/Remove options in the settings, or by editing the SavedVariable JunkBuster.lua file and doing /reloadui ingame. This makes it hard to keep track of filters or forces you to remove some if you want to keep your list visually in the settings menu.

42 rules or less, everything appears with no issues:

42+ rules will work but are not shown. You get this, no list to read from anymore:

I hope some of my incite was helpful and that an update will soon include a fix for this, which would polish up the one and only bug with the addon I could find thus far. IMO this addon is the best loot management solution for ESO and I would enjoy seeing it continue to develop. Thanks for your time and consideration. -Psyche
