Survey Zone List  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.0.1
by: bulton-fr [More]
Track all survey in the character bag and display it by zone name.

I create this addon because when I do surveys, I do it zone by zone and it annoy me each time to have to check in my bag if I have really finished a zone (superposition of pins) and what is the next zone.

You can show/hide the UI by a keybinds, or with commands /surveyzonelist or /szl

I have added treasure map into the list by request, but for the moment, the "next zone" info displayed on the second line ignores treasure map count.

Dependency :
Features :
  • Add an UI which display all zone name where you have a survey or treasure map, the unique number and the total number of survey in each zone.
  • You can configure how the sort is done
  • You can change the text displayed
  • You can configure a keybind to show/hide the UI
  • Show the number of node recolted on the spot
  • Show the number of survey on the current spot, or if you can move of spot or zone
  • Show an icon on the node if it's a survey node
  • Display an alert, and/or play a sound when the spot is finished

Known issue :
  • #2 When the "display with world map" in enabled and the map opened, the list is displayed behind the map.

Next feature :
  • #4 Configure the UI (background, color, font, etc)
  • #6 Add an option to only see for the current zone
  • #7 Fade info cell when done on the spot
  • #8 Add a EP/AD/DC/DLC sort option
  • #9 Auto hide if no more survey or treasure map
  • #10 Add detail about survey on the current zone (number for clothing, etc)
  • #12 Also read for survey in bank
  • #13 Check champion points about resources/harvest
  • #14 Use LibTreasure to improve zone detection and no more have duplicate zone because a typo in the survey's name

If you want other features, you can ask in comment or on github.

Supported languages are English and French.
If you want to help add others languages, you can send translations in comment or on github.
v2.0.1 (2023-07-15)
* Add Apocrypha survey (thanks to MonospacedFonts)
* Bump API to Necrom
* Add a commented debug line to have the interaction name (useful to avoid typo when we need to add new items)

v2.0.0 (2021-06-20)
* Also Manage treasure map (requested)
* Display the number of node recolted on the spot
* Display info about the current spot (remaining, or "next spot", or "next zone")
* Display an alert and/or play a sound when all survey is done for the spot (requested)
* Show an icon on interaction with survey node

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay to get out the new release, like I said before, my health, and last weeks I was not access to my pc (home move) to publish it.

@remosito You can now have a ding like you want

@Ratinira The issue should be fixed now, zone name detection has been rewrited

@daimon thanks for report the issue, can you check if the issue is always here with the new release please ?

Oops...
It is not English, yes. All other names are ok ecxept Coldharbour which is just listed as Cold. But it is still in list. Craglorn and Wrothgar are missing totaly.

I thought that it may have something to do with numbers in survey's name, but Coldharbour also has numbers... But it has only half of its name as in Russian it is like Cold Harbour (two words, and addon cut the second away) Doesnt know if that helps
About Coldharbour, I saw that bug when I develop the next release. It will be fixed with it.

For Craglor and Wrothgar which are not displayed for you. I have no idea for the moment. When I will have survey for these maps, I will change my game language to other languages and check if they are displayed (For Russian, I will just check if I have the same number of lines listed, I can't read Cyrillic).
Maybe I already fixed it in the next release without realising it
For now it is like that:
English

Russian

French

German

Ok, German wins

Thank you fro trying to help
I just checked in the next release, I had rewritten the zone detection system when there is a number in the survey name.
I had detected (and managed these cases) some strange spaces for DE and RU in some surveys name when I was testing in all languages. I have reread the code of the current release, I think these "spaces" can generate the issue you have, some missing maps for RU and DE only. So, I think it will be fixed in the next release

Re: Re: Re: fabulous

Hi,

The bug I have is on my development version (so not published) because I add the detection if we have done all the 6 nodes of a spot, and it's not perfect for the moment.

I understand what you want, maybe I had to explain wrong what I was thinking (English is not my native and I already have trouble explaining in my native language, so in another language... )
However, thank to explain more, now I'm really sure to have understood (and it's what I had understood).

And I think add this will help me too. Last time, I came back 3 times on a spot where I had ended surveys before understand there was nothing left here

On the other hand, I can't tell you when I will do it. Between my work, my health and guild events, it's sometimes hard to find times. I hope soon though.
Not to forget (it's already happening on another addon), I have created the github issue.
In case you want to see it : https://github.com/bulton-fr/TESO_Su...eList/issues/3

As far as I saw. Your addon caught the survey disappearing from my inventory every single time when I harvested the first resource.

So don't seem to have witnessed the bug. Or it is not in your current live version.

Or we were not talking about the same kind of counter.

Maybe you were talking about a counter of the current survey harvesting process?
Starts at 6. I harvest one. 5. and so on?

While I meant a counter (well or dingding) about how many more surveys I have for the current location.

Say Wrothgar yesterday. I had 8 Surveys for the 3 Alchemy locations. Split 3-3-2.

So your addon would display 3-8. I finish one survey (all 6 resources). Run away and back to make them respawn. Harvest first resource and your addon would go 3-7. Same again. 3-6. And same again and it would go 2-5.

This is the dingding moment for me. When number of locations goes down by one.
So I get prominent feedback (auditory or visual) that I dont have to do the run away and back to make resources respawn anymore. But can go to next location.

I could just watch your window like a hawk obviously. But truth is I kinda space out into a meditative? state sometimes when I have more than 3 or 4 surveys for one location. And I run away and back even if last survey for that location is used up because I didn't notice. and wonder why the heck it didnt respawn this time....

So the dingding or prominent visual feedback would be to make me snap out of that space-out state ;-)

hope makes sense.

Anyway. Not really a biggie.

And your addon already made my survey runs so much easier.

so thanks a lot and good luck tracking down your bug.
Am officially survey free now. So wont be able to help.

cheers

what would be really neat is if it would do a little ding noise whenever number of sites per zone changes. thanks to having finished the current survey location :-)

maybe make it configurable? for ding noise hating ppl?

cheers
Thanks,

For the moment I'm working to have a counter about the current survey. But, after tests by guild mates and myself, it's not a 100% success (I suppose it's about the loot speed between a node and another). I will do a release soon with the counter (and a "beta" mention on it).

I am one of those who do not like noise, but I understand, so I can add it and add a setting to enable it and choose the ding to use.
I think I will be connecting it to the counter to have it when the site is done (the survey map is consumed when we loot the first node), but like I said, the counter has some fail sometimes, so it will be possible that sometimes the sound will not be played.

Re: Re: fabulous

awesomeness!

really strange a survey disappearing from inventory would get missed. If you need another beta tester... I did most round already. Only have alchemy left. But likely have surveys for most locations....

cheers

Hi,
Sorry for the delay, I had concentrated on finishing my other addon because I have kept too many items for tests and all my storage become full (really too much to be able to wait for Monday).

I do some tests this morning about keybinding :
  • unbind the key, disable account shared keybind, and reload ui
  • bind a new key, and reload ui -> the key is saved
  • disable votan's keybinder, and reload ui
  • unbind and bind a new key, reload ui -> the key is saved (tested many times)

So I not reproduce

But, during all reload (it's long for me), I have done some research about how to create a keybind (to be really sure to use the good way), and I have found a recent comment from Baertram which maybe can be an explanation about the issue you have.
