Survey Zone List  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.0.1
by: bulton-fr [More]
Track all survey in the character bag and display it by zone name.

I create this addon because when I do surveys, I do it zone by zone and it annoy me each time to have to check in my bag if I have really finished a zone (superposition of pins) and what is the next zone.

You can show/hide the UI by a keybinds, or with commands /surveyzonelist or /szl

I have added treasure map into the list by request, but for the moment, the "next zone" info displayed on the second line ignores treasure map count.

Dependency :
Features :
  • Add an UI which display all zone name where you have a survey or treasure map, the unique number and the total number of survey in each zone.
  • You can configure how the sort is done
  • You can change the text displayed
  • You can configure a keybind to show/hide the UI
  • Show the number of node recolted on the spot
  • Show the number of survey on the current spot, or if you can move of spot or zone
  • Show an icon on the node if it's a survey node
  • Display an alert, and/or play a sound when the spot is finished

Known issue :
  • #2 When the "display with world map" in enabled and the map opened, the list is displayed behind the map.

Next feature :
  • #4 Configure the UI (background, color, font, etc)
  • #6 Add an option to only see for the current zone
  • #7 Fade info cell when done on the spot
  • #8 Add a EP/AD/DC/DLC sort option
  • #9 Auto hide if no more survey or treasure map
  • #10 Add detail about survey on the current zone (number for clothing, etc)
  • #12 Also read for survey in bank
  • #13 Check champion points about resources/harvest
  • #14 Use LibTreasure to improve zone detection and no more have duplicate zone because a typo in the survey's name

If you want other features, you can ask in comment or on github.

Supported languages are English and French.
If you want to help add others languages, you can send translations in comment or on github.
v2.0.1 (2023-07-15)
* Add Apocrypha survey (thanks to MonospacedFonts)
* Bump API to Necrom
* Add a commented debug line to have the interaction name (useful to avoid typo when we need to add new items)

v2.0.0 (2021-06-20)
* Also Manage treasure map (requested)
* Display the number of node recolted on the spot
* Display info about the current spot (remaining, or "next spot", or "next zone")
* Display an alert and/or play a sound when all survey is done for the spot (requested)
* Show an icon on interaction with survey node

I also use Votan's Keybinder and I never noticed a problem with addons keybinds, maybe i never saw him.
For my addons, I not manage the keybind save by myself, it's the game that does that for me; I only define a new keybind name and the action to do when it's used, that's all.

I agree that Votan's one is different. I like it a lot that I don't have to open the map all the time, instead I can see the list all the time. Obviously this is probably mostly useful for people like me whom stack up the surveys and do hundreds of them at one go.

Unless I misunderstood you and your add-on has different function?
To be honest with you, I did not know these addons (however I had made a quick search before to dev mine), but I'm lucky, it seems not to be exactly the same things
So I just test the Votan's addon to see the diff, and with a fast usage (so maybe I missed something), I see some differences.
The first difference is mine have dedicated interface which stays on the screen. We not need to open the map to know info about surveys on zones (but I can understand that some players are not annoyed by that).
Also, it seems that the Votan's addon only display what type of survey we have on the zone; My addon display the number of survey spots (unique and total) on zones.
However the fact to display the type of survey is an interesting thing, maybe I will add this later.

Thanks you for asking, I would not have liked to have made an exact copy of another addon without knowing (you scared me )

Thank you for your comment daimon, I'm happy to read that my addon is useful

For the moment I try to add a way to detect if when a survey item is removed, it's because we are on the spot and use it, or because we have moved it to another bag. I think to have found a way this morning, I need to check that. Anyway, when I will succeed in knowing this info, I think I could add a lot of info about a current spot like a counter for the harvest (to know if we have 6 nodes), a counter about a spot like you said (when we have many surveys for a unique spot), etc.

It's on my plan too, I wanted to publish a first version before and see later to add some things that I have seen on other addons like a way to change the background used, the transparent level, etc.
Or maybe you are thinking of something else ?

Nice one, thank you.

I've waited a long while that someone would make a survey mod.

Maybe at some point add more detailed view at the zone you're currently in. For me I'm mostly annoyed that I keep checking the map when I ran out of surveys while doing the same spot again and again, so a counter would be awesome for that.

And some graphical options to finish it up and you got a winner here.

Thank you for you work
