I was hoping for a more all in one add on, that would mark and sell junk, and also handle the auto depositing to my bank. If there were a way to handle depositing certain types of items to select guild banks that would be awesome. So I sell junk, then I deposit blacksmithing materials to personal bank, then I deposit clothier to one guild bank and provisioning raw materials to another guild bank. Currently I've added 2 different addons for inventory management and neither has anything to help with guild banks.

As far as Junk Handler goes, all it will ever do is handle junk. You can ask choekstr. It is a pain when addons do multiple things because then you end up with overlapping functionalities with other addons. That said, I'd be willing to consider building this inventory management addon if you would give me a good detailed description of everything you want it to do. If you are interested, send me a private message with as detailed description of all the parts of what you want it to do and I'll see if it is something I'm willing to tackle. ~Zolan |

settings problem
I installed junk handler using minion ad-on manager. I log in to ESO, check the ad-ons that are loaded and Junk Handler is loaded, but when I click on settings in order to turn on some features that default to off, Zolan's Ad-ons does not show in my settings list. I uninstalled using Minion, then re-installed, same effect.
I then uninstalled again and tried installing manually, same effect. Not sure what's going wrong. |

Re: settings problem
Hmmm, this is a new one on me. When you log in, do you get a little message in your chat window saying that Zolan's Junk Handler was loaded? Sorry to ask the obvious questions but I have to: In the addons menu where you see that Zolan's Junk Handler is loaded, it is checked, correct? If not, check it and reload. If you uninstall via minion, does the Zolan_JunkHandler folder/files still exist? If so, nuke them and try re-installing via minion. Do you run an addon that reorders your entries in Settings? If so, you may want to disable it to see if it is suppressing my addon. If none of that helps let me know. I honestly am drawing a blank as to what else could be going on but I'm willing to try to help. ~Zolan |

Re: Re: settings problem
Junk Handler is checked, I've unchecked and reloaded, then re checked and reloaded several times, no avail. When I uninstall with Minion, there were no junk handler folders left, and again when I killed the add on manually, I trashed the folder, again no avail. I run few adons, and have not loaded an ad on for the purpose of reordering my settings entries, but if one does that as an unnamed result, for example to put itself priority on your settings list, I am unaware of it. I've got screen shots of my settings list, and my ad ons list showing it checked. I have a history in QA and I'd like to help resolve this issue, not just so I have a working ad-on, but because it's got my problem solving mode turned on. I'm pretty knowledgeable with how these things work, but I realize its not outside the realm of possibility that I've done something wrong. Let me know what else I can do to help figure this out. |

Re: Re: Re: settings problem
It has a requirement on libAddonMenu, and that uses libStub which, long story short, ends up giving my addon the newest version of libAddonMenu that is loaded by any other addon. I guess there might be an incompatibility with another addon's version of libAddonMenu. Since you are a QA person, we'll get down and dirty. So events fire prior to the the game being able to show you errors. These errors get dropped on the floor until a certain event called PLAYER_ACTIVATED (I think) which is when the UI is ready for use and errors after that will show up. There are some debug tools that gather pre-UI errors so you can see them after the fact. There are many of them but the only one I can think off, off the top of my head, is libDebug. I've only used it once so I won't be very good about helping with its use. Anyway, after you are logged in with libDebug installed, you can do /error or /debug and see all of the messages that happened prior to the UI being ready. Perhaps this will shed light as to what is going on. Let me know if that brings up a problem. ~Zolan |

I just had a thought: What if you had a sound play when something matched the junk list so you know what you pick up went to junk. For instance, we get the default system sound for say pristine water which sounds like a drop of water. Then immediately after, say 500-1000ms you could play a sound that indicates it went into junk automatically. Something trashy sounding.
That way when we get to a new area and new levels with new provisioning material we will know if we need to go mark something as junk if we don't hear that definitive sound. Conversely, if we pick up a new recipe and it uses say horker meat and you pick it up, can't remember if it is on the junk list and you hear the sound you can immediately go over and unmark it as junk. |

Blacklist / Whitelist
Any chance you'll add blacklist/whitelist feature that other Junk addons have? So we can set rules based on name or quality or type?
If this addon had that it would be the single best loot addon out there! Between this and your Auto Repair, it takes care of Quality of life improvements! |
