HarvestMap-Data  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 3.15.3
by: Shinni [More]
This addon allows you to download pin locations for the HarvestMap addon so you do not have to discover everything yourself.

After installing or updating the addon, execute the following script in "Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns/HarvestMapData":
  • MacOS: right-click on DownloadNewData.command, then choose 'Open'.
  • Linux: run DownloadNewData.sh
  • Windows: option 1: double-click on DownloadNewData.bat, or option 2: right-click on DownloadNewData.ps1 and select 'Run with PowerShell'.
Executing either script will upload the locations you discovered to our server, where your locations are merged with those discovered by all other players. The server will then send the combined data back to you.

Updating this addon will delete the downloaded data. So you must run the script again when you update this addon.

MacOS script was provided by Mojo66 (www.esoui.com/forums/member.php?u=40561)
3.15.3
Added linux script
Hopefully fixed the error in the mac script (i dont have a mac so i can't verify it)

3.15.2
I added the merge script again and setup a new server. Merging your data should work again.

3.15.1
The HarvestMap-Data addon no longer comes with a script to upload/download data. Instead, the data is directly included in the addon.

My internet provider switched to DualStack-Lite. As a result I do not have a public ipv4 anymore and can no longer host the server for exchanging HarvestMap data.
The data included in the addon is from 2021-06-15 and includes pin locations for Blackwood.
As there is no longer the option to upload your data, the provided data will become outdated soon. Specifically, there will be no data for future DLC zones.

The downloaded data is stored in the addon's folder and Minion deletes everything in the folder when updating the addon. You will need to run the script again.

You can get a free Dynamic DNS (DDNS) to redirect to your current IP at all times though.
Unfortunately Dynamic DNS doesnt help if you don't actually have an IP address to give out. Dualstack-Lite uses IPv6 on the front end and customers are only given private, non-routeable IP addresses, which prevents those customers from hosting anything as they are not able to give out the front end IPv6 address because it is not assigned specifically to them.
Maybe I should have read the post properly My brain skipped anything relevant, lol.

If you was hosting the server in your home on your internet access account and not in a datacenter, there is one solution that could be used. See if you have ipv6 service. If so, just change the DNS entry to point to the one ipv6 address the server has. There is no such thing as ipv6 NAT, all ipv6 addresses, except for local, are visible to the outside internet. So no complicated router config is needed. Note that requires the end user to have ipv6 service. I don't think there is any ISP that are strictly ipv4 due to the cost of mainting ipv4 addresses.

That's excellent news. Thanks to all those volunteering their services, and looking forward to the results.

Server hosting

Hey, I tried messaging you on this site but it said your inbox was full. I do rent a small Linux server box that I pay for monthly anyway, if your server isn't too resource/network-intensive I should have the bandwidth for it. If you're interested at all, I can give more details if you'd like to provide any means of communication that doesn't involve a full inbox HarvestMap is such a useful addon for the community, I'd hate to see the shared data go

I also would be happy to help with some solution that can keep this addon's sharing features alive.

I was wondering about that too. I might donate towards a rental server if it's not too expensive. Or maybe involve another addon dev who can host it?
The Tamriel Trade Center team obviously has a hosting service, and maintains a large database. I scan my ESO guild's store and upload daily (which works through my proxy and VPN and etc, no problem).

Seems like moving the infrastructure somewhere, or teaming up with a service like TTC, might be an option worth exploring.

"There will be no data for future DLC" ?

Just find a workaround.
