As far as a k/d ratio, i've been postponing adding that as other things are more important, but would appreciate seeing what you've done. Thanks for the feedback! |

Re: Re: Kill Counter 1.1.5
Go to the addons folder (usually documents/Elder Scrolls Online/Live/Addons and go into the Kill Counter addon folder. Open up KillCounter.lua in a code editor like sublime, notepad++. If you don't have any of these, try using notepad. do a word search for d("out of combat"). it should be near the very bottom of the page. Once you have found the line of code that goes d("out of combat") you can put two hyphens in front of if (or simply delete it) to make it stop doing that (IE make it look like --d("out of combat") or simply delete that line. As long as you leave everything else the same, it should be fine. You can simply save this file now, and load up ESO (or if you are already in ESO, save the file, wait 5 seconds, then type /reloadui in game) I will probably push a minor update tonight that will fix this.

Re: Kill Counter 1.1.5
After the latest update, I get "out of combat" showing after every fight now. Is that intended? I looked and saw no reference or option for it.

Kill Counter 1.1.5
Update 1.1.5 was a very large update, so I want to kind of explain a few of the finer details.
For one, Seige Counter: Most of the information about seige counter can be found in the main description. Here I will talk specifically about Keep Captures. Unfortunately, due mostly to my campaign and times I can play, I wasn't able to fully test keep captures. I believe that they will successfully work, but please contact me if they don't, as this is a distinct possibility. If any serious errors occur please contact me immediately. Also, if you notice it successfully tracking your keep captures, please contact me. I would love to know for sure if it works 100%. Note, the way that this addon tracks keep and resource captures is not by proximity, but rather by the actual flag being captured. If you are not on the flag when it is captured, you will not get credit for the capture. This is done to make it more efficient and, frankly, because it was far easier and less prone to bugs. The reason keep captures haven't been tested fully is because keeps are composed of two different flags, which can be difficult to always account for. Also note that seige counter doesn't have a GUI element yet. That will come in the next update! For now, you can type /sc stats to see your seige stats. I plan on overhauling the GUI elements in the next few updates, but creating a GUI element for seige counter is a priority. Kill Counter kill tracking The kill tracking in kill counter has about doubled in accuracy. I'm still learning about the ESO API, and a way to handle kill tracking that I wasn't aware of before became apparent to me. Note that for some reason due to the ESO API, when you get a NON killing blow kill (IE an assist) you don't get credit until several seconds after the kill actually happens. I actually have no clue why this happens, and am actively trying to make it better, but this seems to be due to the fact that the event doesn't fire until you are out of combat. What this means is that you may notice some kills register instantly (these are usually when YOU get the killing blow) and others register much later. These much later kills are generally assists. It may be confusing sometimes to see you got a kill when you haven't just gotten one, but remember that some kills being registered are delayed. However, the kill tracker is now much much more reliable at tracking kills. When tested against the actual kill quest earlier, I got a 100% accuracy rate. The Future: After this update, I plan on fine tuning Seige Counter to be more reliable if necessary, but I will focus on the GUI elements to make them "prettier" and more user friendly. I also plan on tracking much more information about the people you have killed, including not just who, but what faction they were on, hopefully their level and class, the number of times you've killed them, avenge and revenge kills, and hopefully much more. What this means is that you should expect that your stats may be wiped again at least 1 more time. I apologize for this, and will of course try help anyone update their current stats to the current version, but will probably be unable to once I release the version that tracks all this stuff. For the near future, expect to see new and better looking GUI elements. As always, thanks to everyone for the support! And please don't hesitate to leave feedback.

Its partly an API limitation yes, as there is not a very reliable way to track kills. And sometimes the event for getting a kill comes delayed (by up to 5 seconds) after the actual kill happens (when others don't) I think this has to do with the amount of damage you do to the target, as i've noticed that if i do alot of damage, I get the kill almost instantly. It also depends on how many other people have damaged him. I was thinking about doing a system like you have suggested and tracking those i've "tagged" so to speak, and adding their kills when you die, but that has some other limitations as well. I've been searching for a concrete event that will always happen when you should get credit for a kill (even while healing) but tracking targets you've hit might be a good idea for the mean time. This delay in getting kill credit may be what your seeing when you get a kill without touching someone. Anyways, thanks for the feedback! This kill tracking will probably happen in the update after this one (which is gonna be big) when I start tracking the alliance of those killed, the class, etc. |

latest update works great.
Properly auto hides in pve zones, shows in cyrodil. Few issues remain: - Death count shows in pve, mocking me in all zones for my constant death streaks (as pve kills properly dont kill for killstreaks). - Kills aren't very accurate, sometimes I don't even touch a guy and I get one. But yea guess thats a api limit to some degree (tho combat log statistics can see player names ive hit, so some more accuracy may be possible). I'd be cool with them counting long as a tag a guy who dies. |

Update 1.1.2 and The Future
If anyone has read the changelog, they know that I am working on an update for this that includes a "seige counter".
Seige counter will essentially be like Kill Counter, but count (and notify you) of when you capture a keep or resource. This will not count simply keep changes (IE if your faction takes Arrius Keep but you are at Chalman). It will count keeps that you are present for the taking of. I plan on adding Seiging streaks as well (One idea I've floated around is Conquerer at about 10 Keeps taken without dying). I will probably count keep changes and resource changes seperate (IE you'd get Conquerer for taking 10 keeps, and maybe you'd get a different kill streak [maybe Raider?] for taking 10 resources). I am planning on building Seige Counter so that it can theoretically be a stand alone addon, though it will always be bundled with Kill Counter. I will also probably add a settings menu for this addon once I add Seige Counter, so you can choose to disable one, or the other at various times. This is still tentative, and depends on how many options I create for the addon. If there are only a few options, I may simply make some slash commands for them. If I DO add a settings menu, I will probably the the libAddonMenu library, so this addon will probably use that as a dependency at some point. I will probably bundle LAM with this addon as an optional dependency as well. This means that for those who only use this addon (or dont use any other addons that use LAM) you won't have to download LAM seperately. For those who do use LAM (or an addon with it) The download size will be a bit bigger, but the LAM in my addon won't conflict with your already installed LAM. Thanks to everyone for the feedback and support! If you have any questions or comments or feature requests, please let me know! |

In the latest update (1.1.1) I added a way to show/hide the kill counter, as requested below. I also overhauled the commands to be more efficient and have less of a chance of causing problems with other addons. The old commands do still exist, but I will be slowly phasing them out in future updates. try to start using the new format for commands. They are as such:
/kcreset - reset the counter. you can also do /kcreset full to reset all of your stats (including list of killed enemies, total kills, etc) /kc is a general purpose command with many different functions /kc addkill to add a kill /kc adddeath to add a death /kc addstreak to add to streak counter /kc toggle to show and hide the kill counter /kc stats to view stats panel *Note /kc doesnt do anything. Also, I kept /kcreset seperate because I plan on adding a few more options and arguments to this command. This update also has auto hiding, so the Kill Counter is no longer visible (by default) in zones other than Cyrodiil. If you use /kc toggle to show the Kill Counter when not in Cyrodiil, the Kill Counter will be turned ON, and afterwards will NOT auto hide while in other zones, until you use the /kc toggle command to hide it. Please contact me if this is not the case for you. Kill Counter should still Auto Hide when going into the inventory or other ESO gui elements. Please contact me if this is NOT the case for you. As always, thanks all for the support! Hope you enjoy Kill Counter. |

Very nice addon.
Feature request: Slash command to hide the ui. (and/or X button on it to hide - and use slash command to make reappear) Maybe /kc hide or /kc toggle Or whatever you prefer. Wouldn't use single slash commands for all different things, as the more you add, the more you risk incompatibility with other addons. Or even better (if possible): Auto detect when your in Cyrodil and enable the screen, and hide automatically when your in any pve zone. As yea I like the addon, but not when im doing PVE, and it's a bit cumbersome to navigate my already too long settings menu and check/uncheck/reloadui/etc.
