Lootdrop, Continued (All in One)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 3.5
by: Ayantir, Pawkette
Purpose

When you check the auto-loot option in Teso menu, drops go directly into your bag. But you do not know what you looted.
Lootdrop graphically displays this informations (icon, quantity, rarity and text) on the screen by stacking it in a specific and transparent window.

Features
  • Displays your loots
  • Displays XP, Veteran XP, AP, TelVar, Guild XP, Inspiration (Craft XP), all configurable
  • LootDrop frame is movable (menu -> lock/unlock). Move it at the desired place, and lock it
  • Diiferent icon style from menu (older one by default, Pawkette style or Rushmik style)
  • The quantity appears before the name, not after
  • Rarity color on border of the LootDrop frame configurable in menu (on/off)
  • Loots could be stack up (default) or stack down
  • Key binding for Autoloot on/off and lootdrop frame lock/unlock
  • Show detailed loot in chat if debug log is checked
  • Show items looted from mail

I hope you don't really consider this feedback just "complaining" or take offense. I am sure you realize that more people in NA play this game than EU, and much more people that use a comma as a delimiter than people that use nationally or prefer a space.

I understand you do this for you as well, but I am somewhat baffled by your seemingly taking offense at the suggestion to simply make it an option. I know it is your prerogative, but when I mod, I do it for the community I am modding for more than for myself. That is just my personal approach.

I enjoy hearing feedback, and I try to do what I can to incorporate features that the community suggests. I do not see how adding an if/then check for a localization toggle (NA/EU) and using either the comma or the space based on that would be particularly difficult to code, which is why I am a little confused by this position.

I appreciate all the work you have done to keep this addon alive, however I am taken to editing the code myself for MY purposes because I cannot play with a space separator. To me I might as well play with Japanese Kanji for the characters. I respect the nationality but it appears alien to my eyes.

I wish you all the best, and I hope whatever option you end up pursuing provides a "best of both worlds" solution.
Thx Phinix for your feedback, but i wonder if you read me.

I said I would do something for the thousands separator (I describe how even).
I also said that make +1 or complaining will not make me go faster.
It's just the truth and I think I proved by all the changes made over time I listened carefully to player feedback. When I say I do, I do.

I do not want lootdrop has a configuration menu that is too heavy,
that's why I do not want the thousands separator is an additional option.
Indeed, if every time I operate a change on this addon, I must make it optional,
it will require a manual to use it

No it's not weird.

No. Just no. Putting spaces between the numbers looks like 2 completely different numbers. I can't revert back to the old version of this addon because it's not compatible with this patch.

No it's not weird.

Perhaps you should look either switch based on language or add it to the control panel.
en-us and en-gb both use the comma separator.

Also, when using a space, several of the standards call for a thin space, not the full separating width. The full space can be rather confusing (even worse for some programmers -- [100 200 300] is a valid definition of an array of 3 numbers in some languages).

Well, it looks like two separate numbers to my eyes. Given the choice between a space and no punctuation at all, I would choose no punctuation.

It is weird because it uses a comma if you choose the verbose display.

And ... it's done in V1.8.8

Thx to Garkin for his help (he's a very good bug tracker ).

@Kevinmon: the text is cut off, yes, but you can also extend the size of the frame

Lua Code:
  1. newDrop:SetLabel( zo_strformat( ' <<1[//$dx]>> <<2>>', quantity, text ) )
This pattern '<<1[//$dx]>>' should print nothing if argument is 0 or 1, and if argument is > 1 (example 5) it will print 5x.

Fixed in V1.8.7a ... i think (can not test it yet)

Thx in advance.
Lua Code:
  1. FormatIntegerWithDigitGrouping(amount, " ")
  2. --or use (delimiter will be GetString(SI_DIGIT_GROUP_SEPARATOR)):
  3. ZO_CommaDelimitNumber(amount)
thx.
Used in V1.8.7
You have to use one function or another not both at the same time.
I did not explain it properly, so to get an idea how it works, this is how is defined function ZO_CommaDelimitNumber:
Lua Code:
  1. local DIGIT_GROUP_REPLACER = GetString(SI_DIGIT_GROUP_SEPARATOR)
  2. function ZO_CommaDelimitNumber(amount)
  3.     if(amount < 1000) then
  4.         return tostring(amount)
  5.     end
  6.
  7.     return FormatIntegerWithDigitGrouping(amount, DIGIT_GROUP_REPLACER)
  8. end
(source: EsoUI\Libraries\Globals\Localization.lua)

In another words if you want "localized" separator use:
Lua Code:
  1. local textMoney = zo_strformat('<<1>>  |c736F6E-> <<2>>|r', ZO_CommaDelimitNumber(difference), ZO_CommaDelimitNumber(self.current_money))
or if you want to use space as separator, use:
Lua Code:
  1. local textMoney = zo_strformat('<<1>>  |c736F6E-> <<2>>|r', FormatIntegerWithDigitGrouping(difference, ' '), FormatIntegerWithDigitGrouping(self.current_money, ' '))

EDIT:

ok, i have missed that was
FormatIntegerWithDigitGrouping or ZO_CommaDelimitNumber.

for line 737, i was tired and it was late, it doesn't work if number is uper 1, it's sure.
I will correct it quickly.
