Luminary - Teleporter v3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 3.8

My rewrite is complete. Get it here
I will not be doing any further updates to Luminary Teleporter

7/9/2015
-- State of the addon -
Modifications for LAMv2/1.6 were completed (quite a while ago).
Currently I am about 3/4 through a complete rewrite, integrating Teleporter into the right pane of the map as suggested by QuadroTony.

2/24/2015
Kerb9729 here, joining AwesomeBilly as collaborator and general lackey/minion.

Today I uploaded a new Teleporter updated for API version 100010 (to get rid of that nasty "out of date" flag) and an updated LibAddonMenu courtesy of Garkin.
This version will be good until 1.6 goes live.

For version 1.6 what really needs to be done is to update teleporter to use LAMv2. I will TRY (no promises) to have that done prior to 1.6 release so that none of us have to wait long to continue enjoying Teleporter.

AwesomeBilly has asked me to pm him when the game goes B2P. So I have high hopes that he will be rejoining us.

Note from the author ------
This was my fave addon I created

Hello World!
I couldn't deal with the vet grind idea. WTF was that? My life and I have left ESO and are playing WOD.
If ESO becomes free to play ... I can update these addons.. but I'd hate to pay $15 to update the addons when I'm no longer playing.

Hint hint: eso.. give addon devs a beta area

anyways... this is open source, anyone can take over any of my addons, or review source and release new addons.

Thanks,
AB
---------------------------------

Luminary Teleporter

Do you have multiple guilds and forget you can teleport to guild members FOR FREE?
Do you wish you could quickly portal to a wayshrine in the area?
Do you wish you could portal to areas you've never been before?
Do you wish you could "For free" portal to the main city QUICKLY?
Did you know this is already an option in game, in your guild tab? But you always forget about it?
Now, you'll be reminded when you open your map

What this addon does:
When you open up the map you'll have a simple list showing all areas you can portal to. If a guild member is in your zone it will be highlighted in blue
Click the Refresh button for an updated list
Click the Group Negative sign for only your zone. (NEW)

Planned Features
Autocomplete search by zone.

Known Issues:
1. If you're low level (Like I AM) you'll have issues trying to teleport if the user is veteran level. To circumvent this I've added a settings option to filter out level 50s and anyone > than vet 0.
2. Sometimes you can't portal due to the player being in a social zone quest thing.

Please report any issues you find.

3.8
Updated for API version 100011
Upgraded lam to version 2

3.61
API version 100010
Updated to LibAddonMenu1-0 rel 10 (Thanks Garkin!)

3.4
Version 100004
and fixed images.

3.3
Added option to control if teleporter opens with the map, otherwise its just a button to manually open on the map itself.
Also, removed the "loaded" message.

Changing the frequency was making the table [[41]] (string) when it needed to be just 41.

3.1 Removed Vet column and added vet icon to level.

V3.01
Fixed issue while searching.. worked if you had trade house also installed ;) oops.

v2.06
Newish UI
Bug fixes.

V1.02
Fixed LibStub issue

V1.12
Fixed issue where counter gets set to 0, causes nil when portaling.

V1.1
Localization is so time consuming :(

ADDED ABILITY TO TELEPORT TO YOUR ENTIRE LIST :) Don't forget exploration gear!

Oh man, that's a great idea.
I will do that if I can.
Yeah, Teleporter needs a re-write. its using so many globals.
Lets drop Unicorn/List and move this into the native UI with scrollList

I created some teleporter dds icons for it already.

im currently writing a guild addon that is going native UI, what I learn from that one I'll apply to teleporter.

I'll see what I can do. Once I get the addon to the point it isn't throwing exceptions, I'll work on new features.

Version updated to include LAM 2.0 / version 1.6

I'll be uploading a new version for 1.6 this evening that includes lam2.

Somewhere there's a reference left to lam1 that I need to ferret out. The new version works, but lam2 nags about detecting lam1. Soon as I find that I'll get the new version up.

Turns out it was Bank Manager Revived.

--edit
New version is uploaded. There is an issue which was present in the older versions, which I didn't notice till now. If you have teleporter open and mouse over the triangle in the upper left corner, an exception is thrown. Probably has something to do with the anchors that Garkin mentioned a few posts down. However, it seems to be cosmetic. The addon still works just fine. I will fix it, but it won't be tonight =)

Many thanks for your help Garkin! I will definitely check out LibAddonMenuSettingsConverter.

I was doing a little bit of homework last night and it looks like lam2 mainly changed the way parameters are passed, and changed a few functions. I think I can muddle my way through this.

Apparently I've been added as a dev on this addon.. Now I just need to figure out how to upload an update =P

The LibAddonMenu1.0to2.0Interface (and FakeLibAddonMenu too probably) mod is a compatibility wrapper I assume?
I'll probably look at one of those to help me determine what changes need to be made for the conversion.
Both interfaces let you use old LAM1 syntax while it creates controls using the LAM2. Both interfaces has their own limitations. For example LibAddonMenu 1.0 to 2.0 Interface does not create controls immediately and LAM methods does not have return values, so simple replacing library name doesn't neccessary work for all addons. I have tried to make FakeLibAddonMenu-1.0 a bit more compatibile, but created controls are still slightly different from original, so even this interface doesn't necessary work for all addons.
Anyway, Teleporter does not modify created controls, so both interfaces should work just fine.

original LAM syntax:
Lua Code:
  1. local LAM = LibStub("LibAddonMenu-1.0")
  2. local optionsPanel = LAM:CreateControlPanel(Teleporter.var.appName.. index.. "ControlPanel", Teleporter.var.color.colArtifact .."Luminary" .. Teleporter.var.color.colTeal.." Teleporter")
  3. LAM:AddHeader(optionsPanel, Teleporter.var.appName.. "Header" .. index,  "Teleporter Options")

LibAddonMenu 1.0 to 2.0 Interface (just change "LibAddonMenu-1.0" to "LibAddonMenu-1.0-to-2.0"):
Lua Code:
  1. local LAM = LibStub("LibAddonMenu-1.0-to-2.0")
  2. local optionsPanel = LAM:CreateControlPanel(Teleporter.var.appName.. index.. "ControlPanel", Teleporter.var.color.colArtifact .."Luminary" .. Teleporter.var.color.colTeal.." Teleporter")
  3. LAM:AddHeader(optionsPanel, Teleporter.var.appName.. "Header" .. index,  "Teleporter Options")

FakeLibAddonMenu-1.0 (just change "LibAddonMenu-1.0" to "FakeLibAddonMenu-1.0"):
Lua Code:
  1. local LAM = LibStub("FakeLibAddonMenu-1.0")
  2. local optionsPanel = LAM:CreateControlPanel(Teleporter.var.appName.. index.. "ControlPanel", Teleporter.var.color.colArtifact .."Luminary" .. Teleporter.var.color.colTeal.." Teleporter")
  3. LAM:AddHeader(optionsPanel, Teleporter.var.appName.. "Header" .. index,  "Teleporter Options")

LibAddonMenu-2.0 (completely different ):
Lua Code:
  1. local LAM = LibStub("LibAddonMenu-2.0")
  2. local panelData = {
  3.     type = "panel",
  4.     name = "Luminary Teleporter",
  5.     displayName = Teleporter.var.color.colArtifact .."Luminary" .. Teleporter.var.color.colTeal.." Teleporter",
  6. }
  7. LAM:RegisterAddonPanel(Teleporter.var.appName.. index.. "ControlPanel", panelData)
  8.
  9. local optionsData = {
  10.     {
  11.         type = "header",
  12.         name = "Teleporter Options",
  13.     },
  14. }
  15. LAM:RegisterOptionControls(Teleporter.var.appName.. index.. "ControlPanel", optionsData)

If you are going to convert menu to LAM2, the easiest way is using Sephiroth018's LibAddonMenuSettingsConverter.

I never heard of compatibility tool before now.
Have you fixed all anchors in this addon? When I saw that every single SetAnchor is wrong, I just gave up.
Honestly, all I did was to repackage it with a newer LibAddonMenu-1.0 (minor version 10 I believe) and corresponding LibStub. Which I think you in fact created. I'm pretty sure I got it from a link you made in the lam forum.

So probably what I did was embed the same lam that's now in the compatibility tool addon (which I didn't know existed at the time). I was just trying to get it to run so I could use it.

It seems to be working perfectly though.
Just FYI LibAddonMenu-1.0 does not work correctly with Update 6, because of change in slider template (it keeps overwritting custom OnValueChanged handler).
As none of my addons uses LAM1 anymore, I do not plan to fix it.
Either update settings menu for LAM2, use LAM1 to 2 interface or my unpublished FakeLibAddonMenu-1.0, which you can find it in my Dropbox.

its working on PTS too, i tested. but what we need with this addon
- its migrate it to the newest libaddon menu
- add proper search field by location
- add resize option

so will be more better if you do this things, IMO
