Bearing - Direction & Area  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.0.213.18.11.9
by: unLeashed3k [More]
Features
  • The cardinal direction your avatar is facing
  • The area you are currently in
  • (Fixed / v100025) A short notification if your character is lacking a food/drink buff (defaulted to off)
  • (WIP as I learn everything that is new; still works for togglable abilities back from 2015) Notification if you've not applied self buffs that are on your Action Bar
  • Quest Area notification
  • Coordinates (shown only if you stand True North)

Toggling Hunger Messages
This feature is defaulted to off (/hunger 0) and may be toggled on by setting the amount of minutes you wish to see the message when you do not have a food/drink buff.

"/hunger 30" to show a message every half hour
"/hunger 3" every three minutes
"/hunger 0" to never see a message
"/hunger" to see current setting

Once turned on the message will always appear shortly after losing a food/drink buff and then as defined by the user set parameters.

2015-03-20: Changed the sound when you're notified that you are hungry (so it's less annoying). This feature is still defaulted to off.

AddOn Focus & Information
There doesn't seem to be a focus, right? Well, there's not really. =)

I created this addon initially for myself only and what it does is all I [currently] want it to do for the extreme play-style I've adopted with this game, as well as a few other games.

Since I made this addon several months ago I've played the entirety of the game with no GUI (map, compass, world pins, quest tracker, action, health, stamina, magicka bars, etc) and no other Meta-data (con colors, target levels, quest levels, etc). I've had to use a lot of other addons to do this though and the result was the need to make my own addon and what this addon represents is all the information I receive during gameplay.

All the information this addon provides can be found elsewhere in the main GUI and functional of the game but I've picked out the necessities for myself. My direction, the name of the place I'm currently in, coordinates for notes (either on paper or ZAM's notebook), when I entered an "area" for a quest, and two notifications for things I often forget (when I'm hungry and when I forgot to buff).

There's even a more hardcore version of this addon I was using but dropped it to make something someone else may want to use. The first version you had to stop before the cardinal direction would fade in (and would fade out when moving) and the Area Name would not show up until you were in that area for over an hour (then it would always be present as it is now).

I'll keep adding small functionality here and there but I'm not looking to take this [addon] in any direction other then my own play-style. So if you enjoy this addon, thank you, but it's not really for everyone and most the information will just duplicate what you will already be aware of.

For those asking for customization (font size, sliders for the notifications) I could potentially do that in the future (even near future) but it would all be slash commands. I don't have much programming experience so I don't want to have to figure out how to use the libraries and rewrite code to make a settings page in the AddOn Settings. As I said, slash commands are easy enough when I get around to it.

Thanks for reading! ~phew~

Hungry and Thirsty

I was searching an addon which says when you are hungry or thirsty every X minutes. This is awesome : D Thanks.
You could maybe put some icons in the screen to say you if you are hungry or thirsty, and not only the text on the screen : ) If you have seen the Skyrim mod called iNeed, you will know what I mean : )
