Votan's Fisherman  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.16.0
by: votan [More]
DependenciesDescription
This addon stores the type of a fishing hole once a specific fish or bait was catched. The type and the fishes and baits already catched there, are shown in the interaction menu while focusing the fishing hole.
Pins with a corresponding color are added to the map.

Additional:
  • Inspired by the feature request from cnschu in Bait Informer, yet not implemented there: Showing bait usage in quickmenu
  • Inspired by Luminary - FishMe - Know your Bait & Fish: "Reel In" Notification.

The idea from awesomebilly is genius. I rewrote it from scratch. Hopefully more robust against false alerts. Always remember: As it is an indirect indication only, it can be fouled.
In order to avoid false alerts, the notification is suspended, if your are in the menus.
  • If you are using Rare Fish Tracker, this addon allows to auto-hide/show its window. Otherwise the option is disabled.

Known Limitations
There is no API to get the type or position of the fishing hole. It is an estimation. There are locations, where the fishing holes were so close to each other, that even the game itself does not know which to use, depending on your position and heading.

Beschreibung

  • Inspiriert durch Luminary - FishMe - Know your Bait & Fish: "Einholen" Benachrichtigung.

Die Idee von awesomebilly ist genial. Ich hab sie neu geschrieben. Hoffentlich robuster gegen Falschalarme.

What in Rare Fish Tracker is clickable? The window itself?
And why posting it in Fisherman?
Maybe a screenshot helps

maybe the option to show Rare Fish Tracker auto?

-if RFT is not installed or outdated : download
and when RFT is installed and the option in Fisherman enabled, Renwa, you should see the RTF window when you aim at a fishing hole.
Silly me! I was thinking that was all one addon. I've been gone 6 months or more... There is a greyed out option in fisherman to show rare fish caught though. I'll upload a pic later

No. A quick fix. I have forgotten to add a new file to package. Version is still the same.

1.9.7a is dowloading as 1.9.7 for manual downloads?

I just downloaded 1.9.7 and my favorites popped again on 1.9.7a, but the download is named

1459035882-VotansFisherman_v1.9.7.zip

Just a typo?

Once you catch a fish the new "colored" pin is saved fine, but still the blank "fish" pins are kept too.
Ok. I check this.

/edit: confirmed
/edit 2: Not removing from internal table is confirmed. (sooo stupid)
But not recording new locations can not be confirmed. Need more testing.

Update: Actually hold on a second, this might be a problem related to Multi-Quest Tracker RE... Checking...
After I have disabled Multi-Quest Tracker RE all problems are resolved! I don't need to replace LibGPS, works perfect with r7 now. BTW Crafting Stations, which I use, also switched to LibGPS r7. Anyway, it looks like the issue is solely caused by this Multi-Quest Tracker RE addon. Will keep testing .
I don't know what's going or now again the waypoint marker does not work and I have this Multi-Quest Tracker RE disabled. After disabling two addons (this one and Crafting Stations) that are using the latest LibGPS2 r7 I was able to regain waypoint functionality. If I re-enable any of two then waypoints are broken again. We are back to the issue with LibGPS2 I guess. Downgrading to LibGPS2 r6 both addons also resolve the issue.

Update 3/22:
I'm officially going mad now. Yesterday everything worked when I've downgraded LibGPS2 to r6, today waypoints stopped working again. Nothing has changed. If I disable Multi-Quest Tracker RE then it works again. But fairly sure it will stop working again. Looks like every time waypoints stop working I have to or disable Multi-Quest addon, or change version of LibGPS2, or a combination of these action. But the problem always comes back. This unpredictible behavior drives me mad .

Which zone? I have to test the focus range.
And you may could merge instead. This will proberly presice the postion of the fishing hole.
Stonefalls. Here's an example, I've deleted the white fishing pin twice already and then it appears again. Initally I thought the they re-appear when I fish at the same place again, but that's not the case. I can remove a pin, fish there without pin re-appearing on the map and then after sometime it will be there again. I can't pinpoint the event when it appears again, but I suspect that moving between zones/shrines triggers it. Just a guess.

simple click is working for me
i don't use a minimap though. so from the standard map I guess.
maybe zoom a bit to click on only one pin
## Version: 1.9.5
Yeah! It worked
