How did this addon get an award? I can't even use it. Starting the game after installing results in so much spam to chat that you get kicked from the game for spamming.

How does it work?
Hi! Great addon, nice work!
How does it work exactly? Do I need to browse the items to get the prices stored? It will only store prices for the guilds that I am in, right? Thank you! |

startup issues
Also, if you have some large trading guilds and/or want to hold a lot of history, I'd recommend turning on the Init After Load option. Lastly, storing all that data takes LUA memory. I have mine set to 1024, and can hold 300,000+ sales records. God Bless Philgo68 |

Re: How does it work?
Yes, it can only see the guilds to which you belong. God Bless, Philgo

one tip - if you have few accounts with more trade guilds - you will get more data and more smooth prices

A few things I'd love to see
First, MM is excellent, and frankly I wouldn't bother trading if I didn't have it, so please don't stop developing it, or I'll have to retire!
A few things that would be great: 1. Customizable ranges and colors for Deal Value 2. Showing What the Deal Value will be for a potential Sell when pricing on the Sell screen (So, I enter a price, and see if that will result in a Green or Blue, or Red sale, etc. with percent) 3. Being able to sort by Unit Price, pretty much everywhere, in addition to gross price 4. Showing some kind of average Listing Time (likely only for my own sales, as per discussion) 5. On Item Info screen, showing total price in addition to Unit price Also, I notice that when I filter the Browse results screen, it only filters each page of the original output. I only just realized that even if the results are "empty" or only show one or two items on the initial page after filtering, I have to keep hitting "next" to see the subsequent pages, where each page may or may not have results as well. Obviously, it would be great if, after I filter, it re-orders the underlying data so that the results are all shoved up to the front of the listing and I see all filtered results, rather than paging through perhaps several blank pages to see the results for page 4 or 5, say. |

Re: A few things I'd love to see
1. There are a lot of things that could be configured, and I haven't figured out a nice simple interface to manage them. But the calculations are broken out into there own file, MasterMerchant_DealCalc.lua It's fairly easy to follow if you wanted to tweak it yourself. Or I've added a custom calcs for a few people... I'll include the current standard logic at the end of this post. 2. I like it!! Great idea. Listing management is the next set of features I'm working on, so I'll slide it in there. 3. That's a tough ask. The critical place for this would be in the Guild Stores, but ZOS controls the sorting. I'd post this question over at Awesome Guild Store. 4. See number 2!! 5. I'll have to see if I can get the "stack count" of the item being displayed. Could be really easy or nearly impossible... Same as 3. ZOS controls most of the Guild Store Listing pretty tightly, including that cool down so you can't scan thru the listings really quickly. Again thanks for taking the time to make these suggestions. God Bless, Philgo MM deal calculations Basic numbers used: margin % = ((marketPrice - unitPrice) / marketPrice) * 100 profit = (marketPrice - unitPrice) * stackCount deal 5 = yellow down to deal 0 = red Three different pricing groups: 1. More than 15 sales seen. 2. 6-15 sales seen. 3. 5 or less sales seen. 1. More than 15 sales seen. if (salesCount > 15) then -- high volume margins if (margin >= 85) then deal = 5 elseif (margin >= 65 and profit >= 1000) then deal = 5 elseif (margin >= 50 and profit >= 3000) then deal = 5 elseif (margin >= 50 and profit >= 500) then deal = 4 elseif (margin >= 35 and profit >= 3000) then deal = 4 elseif (margin >= 35 and profit >= 100) then deal = 3 elseif (margin >= 20) then deal = 2 elseif (margin >= -2.5) then deal = 1 else deal = 0 end 2. 6-15 sales seen. if (salesCount > 5) then -- mid volume margins if (margin >= 85) then deal = 5 elseif (margin >= 80 and profit >= 1000) then deal = 5 elseif (margin >= 65 and profit >= 3000) then deal = 5 elseif (margin >= 65 and profit >= 500) then deal = 4 elseif (margin >= 50 and profit >= 3000) then deal = 4 elseif (margin >= 50 and profit >= 100) then deal = 3 elseif (margin >= 30) then deal = 2 elseif (margin >= -5.0) then deal = 1 else deal = 0 end else 3. 5 or less sales seen. -- low volume margins if (margin >= 90 and profit >= 1000) then deal = 5 elseif (margin >= 75 and profit >= 500) then deal = 4 elseif (margin >= 60 and profit >= 100) then deal = 3 elseif (margin >= 30) then deal = 2 elseif (margin >= -7.5) then deal = 1 else deal = 0 end end If no sales are seen the margin = 0 and the color = green |

Timeout on Login with MM
When you start to hold a fair amount of sales data, 100,000+ records, you may start to get timeouts when logging in, because MM is taking too long to initialize all that data. But don't worry you've found the right posting.
First off, if this is happening occasionally, or you are getting into the 100k+ record count, try turning on the "Delay Initialization" option the the Settings/Addon Settings/Master Merchant menu. If you have already past this point, and can't get in with MM turned on, you will have to edit the MasterMerchant.lua file in the SavedVariables directory. Look for all instances of ["delayInit"] and change the "false" to "true" so it reads: ["delayInit"] = true, That's it, turn on MM and login or /reloadui. You will get into the game faster, but it will be a little choppy until MM finishes and tells you how many records it's holding. Using a lock pick test, I tried to balance smoothness vs speed to get MM rolling. It is an extra challenge, but a lock can be picked even during the choppy time. God Bless, Philgo
