Idea for Add-On
Hey, it's Artistbma. You told me to post my idea here so you wouldn't forget it:
Add a "WTB" function. Players input the items they want to buy, the price range, and the level range and it gives them an alert whenever one of those items is up for sale. |

Suggestion
I'm a long time user of Shopkeeper and just started to use the MasterMerchant.
It's a huge improvement I must say (too bad I have to start all over to collect the data-tried the "rename lua" but didn't worked) The added Dealfinder collumn is a huge timesaver. Any plans in the future where I can costumise the colors? I want to use something like : 0% to 50% white, above 50% blue, loss =red |

It would be nice to have an option to disable the Dealfinder % for items that have 0 sales recorded (instead of showing 0,00% white/green?).
It makes it easier so you dont miss a deal (when you scroll fast enough, you see colours but not numbers) because it has no sale record. A question, when I search for an user in the text field "@user", I get results for sales bought by that user (easilly seen as there is a buyer column) but I get sales bought by other people. Are those sales put by @user? Is there any way the addon could show all sales made by one person (@user) only? Like a toggling for sales/buyouts for @user instead of mixing them. |

On the description page you will see instruction on how to move your Shopkeeper history into Master Merchant as a starting point. Take Luck, Philgo

Re: Re: Re: window size
To shrink the size of the MM window a bit, adjust the Settings/video/Interface/Custom Scale and pull it down off 100 a little bit. I have mine around 65/70%. Take Luck, Philgo |

Dealfinder?
Can somebody explain to me what is the math behind the % dealfinder shows?
I can't seem to figger it out Example : An item is sold for 600 gp in the store. The tooltip says M.M price (21 sales,12 days): 2128.63 gp The dealfinder % is 71.81% So if I put this item for sale in de guild store for 2128 gp I would receive, when sold, 1979 gp (sellprice - 7% housecut). My pure profit would be 1979 - 600 = 1379 gp. My investment is 600 gp and my total profit is 1379 gp That's an 229% profit |

Re: Dealfinder?
The 71.81% is the percentage of proffit you would get from the item if you sell it at avgMM price. 2128.63gp being the price adviced for selling (avgMM from now on), 2128.63-600(buyoutP)=1528.63g proffit. 1528.63/2128.63=0,7181 -> 71,81%. So, if an item shows 90% deal, it means you can sell it for 10 times (avgMM) its buyout price (buyoutP), which is a bit confusing. I would consider the 600/2128.63=0,2819 -> 28,19% result much more straight-thinking imho. Such result shows the buyout price is actually 28% of the avgMM (which quickly prompts a 72% proffit to your mind, no hard mat there). It gives a better perspective of the kind of deal and this way we would also the negative % for items with buyoutP>avgMM. For example 2500g(buyoutP)/1500g(avgMM)=1,66 -> 166% (then you think, BAD deal). With the current math, 1500-2500=-1000, so -1000/1500=-0,66 -> the addon reads -66%, which means you would lose 66% over the sale price with the deal. Actual math: (avgMM-buyoutP)/avgMM which can not go over 100% but can result in negative percentages. Higher percentages mean better deals. Proposed math: buyoutP/avgMM which can not result in negative percentages (just over 100% percentages for bad deals) and would show how much the item costs compared to the gold you can get for it (so lower % better deals) instead of how much of the avgMM gold you would get would be neat proffit. |

Re: Re: Dealfinder?
I have two ideas (not necessarily compatible): A) Use multipliers instead of the percentages. In the example you gave above, a factor '10' is actually much more clear than '90%'. B) To me personally the absolute price is more relevant, simply because the guild store slots are limited. I'd prefer to buy a recipe for 1k and sell it for 2k than to buy a recipe for 27g and sell it for 270g at ten times the purchase price. So for me the price difference avgMM-buyoutP is the crucial value. |

Re: Re: Re: Dealfinder?
I will certainly take this under advisement going forward, but right now 1.6 compatibility is all I'm working on. I will mention that while the calculation of the value doesn't change, the color does. So two deals with the same profit margin can have different Deal Colors. The color calc uses the profit margin of course, but also sprinkles in the absolute gross profit number (the recipe example above) as well as the number of times an item has sold (confidence that it will sell). With each driving the color toward Gold the higher they go at some specific cutoffs. Take Luck, Philgo |

Re: Re: Re: Re: Dealfinder?
I think the % is the easiest way to go when stackable items are involved in the equation, just not the percentage of proffit as it is now, because it can give negative % which is not very straight to come by, but percentage of cost. If you mark colours based on neat gold proffit, then low-quantity-stacks of flowers/runes/boosters with very nice prices (80%/90% of avgMM being proffit) would seem not that much appealing, while in fact its a great deal if you just keep stacking them to 100 before selling. And being honest, apart from the ocassional great deal (aka warlock ring for 300g) the gold mine for the reseller is in the stackable mats market. At least that is how I make most of my proffit, and its a great proffit I must say. |
