Event Tracker  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.93
by: Kelinmiriel [More]
Helps keep track of Event Tickets so you don't miss any.

- Minimal performance impact
- No libraries required (simple installation)

- Reminds you when you need to spend tickets so you don't go over the 12-ticket cap.
- Reminds you if you haven't gotten all your tickets yet the last few hours before reset.

- Automatic Event XP Buff!
Activate it with "/xpbuff on"

- Can give you info, like which tickets you've gotten already for the day, how to get them,
how many are left to get for the event (/evt and /evti)
- Can put info in chat about how to get tickets when event ends, how many tickets are
left to get - to answer questions for people. (/evtc)
- /xpbuff to refresh your buff easily!

*****************************************************
*** Season of the Dragon - Jan. 26-Feb. 7, 2023 ***
*** Whitestrake's Mayhem - mid-March 2023 ***
*** Jester's Festival - late March 2023 ***
*** Anniversary Jubilee - April 2023 (unconfirmed) ***
*****************************************************

Automatic messages:
- at character sign on ** Now with notification if you need to spend tickets!
- when a ticket is acquired
- when tickets are spent at the Impresario.
- when tickets become available again after daily reset.

Commands:
/evt - View ticket information
/evt help - Shows all chat commands (/evt ? also works)

/xpbuff - Refresh your xp buff (for events that have one)
Note: You still have to eat cake (Anniversary). The others are ok.

/evti - View event information
/evti xpbuff - Which events have an xp buff
/evti help - View options for event details
/evti begin - Starting an event
/evti box - How to get more boxes
/evti next - What events are coming up in the future? (/evti upcoming also works)
/evti pet - About the Unstable Morpholith you can buy with Event Tickets
/evti imp - The Impresario, aka Event Merchant, where you spend your Event Tickets
/evti morph - What you can morph your pet into (a skin, a mount, a costume? A furnishing that can turn TIME?!)
/evti ind - Indrik info
/evti cyc - Indrik cycles, which is not in the help files
/evti <event> - the first three letters of any event name, past, present, or future.

/evt hide - Hide chat messages, except the most important
/evt show - Show all chat messages (reverse /evthide)
/evt ui - Toggles user interface

/evtc - Posts event info to chat line, to answer other player's questions
- Please be sure you are in the correct chat before doing this!
- You have to press ENTER to send the line.

All of the options that are listed for "evti" above, also work for "evtc".

/evtc help - View options for event details (this one does NOT post to chat to send)

The User Interface hides during combat, and in between events.

This addon works for people who play on both NA and EU servers.
(Keeps info separate - tickets are stored, counted, and earned
separately on each server, so the addon treats them as such.)

KNOWN ISSUE:

If your game crashes after you got tickets for the day, the addon will not recognize that you got your daily tickets. (Also if you got them on a different computer.) This is because there is no function provided to tell me that daily tickets have been received - only the moment that they are. And variables are not saved to your hard drive until you reloadui, or sign out.

This fixes itself at daily reset.

Note: If you have any problems with this addon, it's most likely due to
older versions. Try uninstalling it, deleting saved variables, then re-install.
That will guarantee you have the most recent version of addon and
variables, and it should be mostly restored very quickly; entirely restored
after the next daily reset.

If you still have any problems, please contact me! Thank you!

@Kelinmiriel or @KrystlPryzm (2nd account) on both NA and EU,
or you can leave a comment on ESOUI.

To do: Support for other languages, settings, better (optional) warnings.

That's a great idea, thanks! I've been meaning to add a standard settings menu, like most addons have. I'll try to get that done soon, and when I do, I'll include your suggestion.

Dragon tickets fixed; new version up

Thanks for the comments, @M-Ree and @dlrgames!

New version is up. For anyone who wants their UI correct for the rest of today, you can use the feature I added a couple versions ago:
Code:
/evt done
to mark that you've finished all your tickets for the day. If you don't, it'll all be cleared at reset anyway, so it'll be fine.

There's also "/evt done1" and "/evt done2" for an event like this one that has separate tickets from different locations, if you want to mark one finished and not the other. (In this case, 1=N. Elsweyr; 2=S. Elsweyr.) "/evt done" will tell you what the others are for. And of course, "/evt undo" to reverse it.

Same thing for me, did both a WB and a delve quest. Got the ticket, but the add-on didn't seem to record it, said one S Elsweyr still available.

Edit2: Folks in guild had it not trigger on S Elsweyr boss daily ticket, either.

It's supposed to turn off the UI and the warning messages between events - always has been that way, since I first wrote it. I don't know of any problems with that feature. Thanks for letting me know it wasn't working right for you last time - I'll check it after New Life!

Also, please let me know if it misbehaves for you again after New Life - if anyone else sees this happen, tell me. Thanks!

Even if it was a simple toggle in the settings of the addon.
Between last event and this event, I was stuck with 12 tickets. So every time I logged on, I got warnings across my screen and in chat about spending tickets.
I don't feel like we need to be warned about going over the 12 ticket limit when there's no way for us to get tickets (ie: when there's no event going on).

I'll try to get that out for the next update, Nampy, as well as fixing the timing issue that cropped up at the end of Witches Festival (it was showing there being an hour more left than there actually was; sorry about that!)

We'll see about the feeesh.

Update - Added the following commands in version 1.87:

/evt done
/evt done1
/evt done2
/evt undo
/evt undo1
/evt undo2

All of these will list what the current tickets are, when there's more than one set of tickets available, such as for the Dark Heart of Skyrim, "1" corresponds to the ticket from W. Skyrim; "2" corresponds to the ticket from The Reach.

The "done" command marks that you have completed all of the day's tickets. "undo" reverses it; marks that none of the day's tickets are completed yet. The other four commands are the same, but for just a single ticket (for events where that applies).

Warning: These commands are not fully tested yet. It seems that they are working correctly, and probably won't hurt anything even if they're not. But still - use at your own risk. I can't test things like this fully except when there's an event running, so that limits me. Feedback is appreciated, if you run into any issues with these.

And honestly, thank you so much for this addon. I don't want to know how many event tickets I would have lost if it wasn't reminding me again and again to spend them ^^ And it's a big help to keep up with event beginnings and endings too =)
Great suggestion, thank you! Sorry I haven't been very good about keeping the help ("/evt ?") up to date. I had always wanted to come up with a better option for that than several lines of very tightly packed information. When I first put together the "/xpbuff auto" option, I had a notice when the addon first loaded, if it was off, that said how to turn it on. I suppose I could just re-add that.

Thanks for the nice comments! It always makes me happy to know that it's helping people.

Testing this with only Event Tracker (English client), I couldn't see anything at all (because blank lines are blank). With pChat enabled also (or presumably if something else happens in chat before the blank lines appear), they do. I'll get rid of them before the next version.

If you want to get rid of them sooner, simple fix is to just delete the entire block of code from lines 1681 to 1720, starting with:

-- 1.83 ...

and ending just before

-- 1.46 ...

(Yes, I comment everything to death. Old habits.) That'll take care of it.

I was just trying to help remind people to pick up the High Isle reward box (and salamander pet, for people with High Isle AND ESO+), if they haven't yet. As of tomorrow morning, it won't matter anymore.
Hello Kelinmiriel, thanks, I will do that.
