Mute Bards 2
Version: 2.0.6
by: MadDachshund [More]
Based on Mute Bards by YayRP.

This addon allows you to mute bards in cities/sub-zones that you specify.

The mod comes with a preset list of some of the zones with bards. You can add to or remove from that list as you see fit. Getting the subzone name for the current zone can be complicated. I recommend using AUI MiniMap (which shows the subzone name).

Type /mutebards to view and edit the list of zones (or go to Settings > Addons > Mute Bards 2.0).

Want to hear "Red Diamond" one more time? No problem. Remove it from the list.

Mute Bards doesn't interfere with your music, footsteps, or dialogue volume. Effects will always play at the default 70 volume during combat.

This is all based on a messy hack that involves singling out zones where Effects are most annoying and selectively turning them off. Side effects include, but are not limited to: no sound when you burglarize people's nightstands in bard zones, roll dodge tumbling sound, whistling for a mount.

One last disclaimer. I have added functionality to allow you to refresh the muting effect without leaving a zone, but if you reload UI, while you're within a zone, refresh won't work until you change zones again. This is because I temporarily store the last zone you entered (thus the zone you are currently in) but reloading the UI will delete that variable, so I won't be able to know what zone you're in the next time you hit refresh.

Your zip file contents are wrong. Your zip file needs a folder with the exact same name as the .txt file of your addon! In there you need to place the .lua .xml and .txt file

Inside MuteBards2 folder:

Else Minion is not able to find the addon as the foldername must be the same as the .txt filename of your addon! Minion just extracts the contents of the zip file. It would extract the lua txt and xml files to the folder live/AddOns directly if the folder is missing, making the addon not work/not be found by the vanilla ingame addon manager.

This also does not work if ppl download your addon via www.esoui.com directly. If they extract it either the software used (e.g. WinZip, WinRar, etc.) will create a new folder called live/AddOns/MuteBards2_2.0-r5" in the end, or if no folder is automatically created upon extraction of the zip archive the files will be also just extarcted directly to "live/AddOns". Both won't work properly with the ingame addon manager and the addon most probbaly will fail to show and load (maybe it shows up as the txt file is detected by the ingame addon manager, but I guess it wont).

I'm wondering the same thing. I figured adding it to ESOUI would automatically get it into minion, but it didn't, and I haven't been able to find any documentation stating how you would get it in there.
