SoftcapInfo  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.2.3
by: Shinni [More]
Since 1.6 there are no Softcaps (diminished returns on stats) in ESO anymore. You can savely remove this addon.

This addon displays the softcap for each stat. If a stat is overcharged, it also displays how many points are "lost".

It's pretty simple but it can be a huge help to know how many statpoints you are away from the softcap or how many points you should rearrange.

Display:
400/500
You have 400 statpoints and the softcap starts at 500.

510+5/500
You have 510 statpoints, but without the softcap of 500 you would have 5 points more (so 5 points are lost).

Attention:
There is a bug in the API. The lost statpoints (red numbers) may be larger than displayed.
The softcaps however are correct.
- 1.2.3
- compatible with Update 5

- 1.2.2
changed api version yet again
i really like it when addons just work :D

- 1.2.1
changed api version number

- 1.2
added eula
changed api version number

- 1.1
fixed error caused by api change
changed api version number

With 1.6 ESO doesn't have softcaps/diminished returns on stats anymore.
You can savely remove this addon.

Really confused on this here.
Hm, I have an DK at VR 2 too, without vamp or werewolf. His healthregen cap is at 47 and on an old screenshot from VR 1 it was 47 as well.
The Nightblade's value must be the wrong one I guess.
Do you use other addons that change the stat display, like Harven's Extended Stats?
Maybe the nightblade's stat was outfight healthregen while your templar's and dk's are infight healthregen.
This is the only addon I use that changes stat display. All my characters I check are upon fresh login. I did create the Nightblade after 1.2.3, which upped the cap on Health Recovery. Maybe I have to delete the saved variables for this addon?

Edit: Nvm, just realized there isn't a saved variables... hmm

Edit #2: Created a brand new Sorc to see if it was just a Nightblade thing, the Sorc starts out with 65 HP Recovery as displayed softcap. Wonder if your HP recovery gets nerfed hard with obtaining VR. I also had 2 other Nightblades I use as an Alchemist and the other as a mule. Those two were created before 1.2.3 but they still have the boosted HP recovery. So either DK and Temp have nerfed HP recovery, or VR takes a hard hit to the recovery.
I just pushed my DK from 49 to vr1, and he went from ~80 health regen cap to 47. I think Zeni screwed up somewhere
Awesome, thanks for confirming that suspicion. Was only able to get that Nightblade of mine to 40, so still a bit of leveling that was needed to be done to test that.

That's exactly what I did for all the addons that need to be fixed often. (ie Garkin helps with CustomCompassPins and Sharlikran with HarvestMap)
Additionally I have the patch function for all my addons enabled, so everyone can upload fixes or improvements.
I think the fact nobody uses them shows that my addons are never really outdated... even though I'm a lazy bum.

Note that I suggested to select a checkbox. And in case someone doesn't like that, I provided another solution.
Nobody was ever forced edit files of this addon.

@seaniv + PhoenixCalgary
Thanks a lot!
I guess you are right, addon devs (especially if they don't even take donations like me) don't have any obligations - but I think there are still some responsibilities. If I upload an addon, I should test it beforehand.

Likewise it wouldn't be nice to tell players the addon works (by changing the API version) without actually testing it. So sonar's point wasn't wrong, but reading the last post, I'm not entirely sure if that's the way he/she meant it.

Woa, so much hate... Everyone has a real life to attend, so be less angry please.
No one is obliged to do anything. If you think you can manage an addon yourself, then everything is pretty simple: Make the addon and upload it as a patch for this addon, or as an entirely new addon, and problem solved!
Cheers
