TheShining - AoE & Target Glow Brightness  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.0.1
by: Odylon [More]

This tiny addon alters the games internal settings to increase the maximum values for AoE Brightness as well as Target Glow Thickness and Intensity. It was originally developed as private addon for VespersPlea who donated gold and asked for this specific feature.

FYI I've tried to alter other internal settings (eg.: Field of View) too but while it's possible to change the values, it does not have any effect in the game which leads to the conclusion that certain values are internally capped.

LATEST CHANGES

Version 1.0.1 (2021/06/04)
  • Added Target Glow Thickness & Intensity

AOE BRIGHTNESS

These settings are accountwide and found under Gameplay -> Combat.

The addon increased the maximum value for AoE Brightness by a factor of 10. While this might be useful in raid situations with tightly stacked groups where recognizing AoEs can be tricky, it can also get quite annoying in situations with lots of huge AoEs (eg.: Cyrodiil with Caltrops, Meatbags, etc.)

TARGET GLOW THICKNESS & INTENSITY

These settings are character specific and found under Nameplates -> Indicators.

The addon increased the maximum value for Target Glow Thickness and Intensity by a factor of 20. This is mostly useful in situations with multiple enemies like trashpacks or PvP where it's important to focus a specific target.

I wonder if you could increase the glow/brightness of the yellow outline on mobs that have loot to pick up?

The outline thickness for lootable corpses is getting increased with the Glow Thickness setting although it might not be that obvious since the game already renders them thicker than targeting glows by default. The setting for the intensity (IN_WORLD_UI_SETTING_INTERACTABLE_GLOW_INTENSITY) could be altered too but the already very light yellow used for the glow turns into white then...

Is it possible to also change the color of Glow Thickness of the tab-target?

Cool addon!

Oddly, this atm, current ESO patch, it only applies to two characters, regarding indicator blue auras around allies. Seems to tie in to being on the second bar. For those two characters. All others, who have this addon enabled, they enjoy it on foes, and neutral allies only.

I set it to all for all characters, not certain why it won't work on allies beyond those two specific characters.
