A fast and simple way of displaying information about stolen goods

Features

Displays the number of stolen items and their total value

Shows automatically when talking to guards and fences

Toggleable clemency cooldown timer (when applicable)

Customize with settings panel and / or chat commands

How to use

New! Type /loot or assign a keybind (displays automatically when an event is called)

All settings can be changed without the panel by using commands

Change color by typing the color after /loot (eg./loot orange)

Toggle events by typing the event after /loot (eg./loot fence)

New! Fixed compatibility with pChat. Added a settings panel and administered some bug fixes.

Zenimax silently updated the API which broke Brief Thief without warning. Thanks to cag_dk and Fish for alerting me of it. I was only going to patch the broken part but for some perspective I wrote these addons when I first started programming and I have been studying lower levels every day since. Reading my old code after knowing what I know now made me confused, disgusted, and angry. I rewrote the whole thing so the source is very clean so in theory if there were any old bugs they are fixed now as the code is new.

2.1 public release
- updated LAM2, hopefully that solves an unreproducible bug

2.0 public release [see notes]
- rewrote many functions so watch for bugs pls
- added a sweet settings panel I def didnt copy from my other addon
- removed /loot help (was redundant with settings panel)
- added some more settings and did some stuff

[dev note]
If you use legacy commands to edit settings it will work but the settings panel wont show the correct info until reloadui

1.9.2 public release
- fixed compatibility with pChat (thanks Dioscuri ^^)

1.9.1 public release [see notes]
- completely reworked multiple functions to further optimize
- added a check to fences so the same string does not repeat
- further upgraded debugging tool (for me not you)

chat moves slow in crime dens so letting fence run wild was spammy if done in succession
many things have been reworked to clean up code. If bugs are found PLEASE report them
I tested it a few times so it SHOULD be okay. This one is just paranoid :)

- added clemency timer to broadcast (can toggle with /loot clem)
- completely reworked event handling -- code is cleaner now
- added a sweet debug mode to make mutinys life easier

- fixed help text box ascii (mutinys text size was scaled to 15)

Zenimax quietly changed their API which broke how Brief Thief was handling the stolen items (which is why it was always 0, it couldn't find any)! Thanks again you guys for letting me know. It should be fixed now and if it's not be sure to let me know.

Thank you for letting me know. Keep in mind this addon was developed over a year ago so Zenimax could have changed the API and silently broke it. The functionality is to display the total items and their worth, so in your case 20+ and whatever their value. "0 stolen items worth 0 gold" would unfortunately be a bug.

I have not played ESO for some time -- I just came here to check my addons and saw both comments. I will download the PTS and see if I can investigate what's going on.

I now highly doubt the issue is on my end. Unless I somehow completely misunderstood the description and point of this addon, and it is not at all meant to show the value of stolen goods in your inventory when doing /loot, it just straight up is not doing what it is supposed to do

I can not reproduce this bug. Even with pChat the addon seems to work fine.

I updated LAM2 inside of the addon and pushed an update. Please let me know if that does not fix it.

I just figured out what's wrong. I couldn't replicate the issue until I downloaded pChat, I've uploaded a fix. Sorry for late patch.

Eventually there will be a content update with the stuff I learned from my other addon. Just when I manage time. ^^

Not a problem about time. The addon still worked fine, just the extra characters at the end. Besides, you guys do this stuff on your free time for fellow ESO players for free. I'm just grateful for the plentiful addons provided by the community.
