CookeryWiz  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.0.71
by: kendaron [More]
This is a must have addon for the budding provisioner.

- See every recipe available in the game.
- See what recipe your characters have and do not have. (You can see other CookeryWiz users too!)
- Browse all recipes any time, any place.
- Search recipes using free text.
- Enter any number of items to cook... and have the correct ingredient list calculated.
- Cooks all the items for you!
- Automatically add provisioner writ items to the quantity to be cooked for any of your characters.
- Grabs writ food items from the bank or guild bank
- Send your list of known recipes to any player so they can order from you or just so you can see what they are missing!
- And lots, lots more!

NOTE: If you close the CookeryWiz window and need to get it back, you can toggle the display by binding CookeryWiz to a keyboard key or simply typing '/cw' or '/cookerywiz' in chat

Translations
Thanks to ThalonMook and Suzie Q for German translations!

What's New

- CookeryWiz now searches ingredients by default. No more selecting it from the filter dropdown!

- CookeryWiz now has 3 favourite types! Just click the heart icon next to the recipe to cycle through them. A new drop down allows you to filter on one of these favourite types.

- CookeryWiz has more known recipe icons. (Thanks frickinmuck!)

- CookeryWiz will has changed the way he celebrates. No more dull white, the pulse is the color quality of the recipe you learned.

- CookeryWiz has favourites! Just click on the love heart icon next to the recipe and it will become a favourite. Click it again and it is not! You can see your favourite recipes by selecting the new category 'Favourites' in the dropdown.

- If the mini icon is enabled, CookeryWiz will celebrate with you when you learn a new recipe by pulsing!

- Shrink functionality is gone! Instead a mini icon is now shown. Clicking on this icon will toggle the CookeryWiz window. It is moveable, and fades, and is useful for people who do not bind CookeryWiz to a keyboard key. The icon can be disabled through CookeryWiz options. Your attention will be drawn to the icon with a pulse animation (as fading can make it harder to see). This animation only occurs until the first time you hover the mouse over the icon.
If the mini icon is disabled, then it will show on the default cooking station interface when it is activated. This means you will always be able to find CookeryWiz without needing to use the /cw commands

- Yay! A new category has been added to the filter options... Cookable. Select this option to filter recipes in the list to only those you can cook. This means the recipes you know, have skills for and required ingredients.

- Recipe icons in bag/store/bank now show the food level above them.

- A new option has been added to the recipe list menu. You can select it to cook the maximum amount possible. Who wants to bother with all that typing!

- CookeryWiz now shows you how many items of food you could possibly create with your ingredients!

- CookeryWiz has decided the in-built cooking station interface needed to go. So now when you cook you see only his own! However, if you are particularly fond of the old, dull interface you can restore it via CookeryWiz options window

- Recipes in the CookeryWiz scroll list that you do not know are now faded. This means the 'tick' is no longer required. If you do like the tick it can be enabled once again through CookeryWiz options.

- For those that prefer a simpler knowledge icon, there is now another to choose from! You can select which icon to display from the CookeryWiz Options window

- CookeryWiz has decided to show the name of the food crafted rather than the recipe name. This looks less cluttered and helps our non English speaking friends!

- CookeryWiz has taken a selfie! (No fake online dating profiles thanks) You can now see him in game showing you which recipes are known to your characters. Hover over his icon in your bag/bank/guild bank or store and see who has yet to learn it

- Ever the vain, CookeryWiz has had a makeover! In addition to the tooltips for recipes, food and items, he now shows pretty icons for food and ingredients.

- Performance of the recipe and ingredient scroll lists has been improved dramatically, allowing CookeryWiz to do less work. He muchly appreciates this as he is run ragged trying to help you guys!

- CookeryWiz has overcome his dislike of 'Lemon Flower Mazte' and has agreed to stop swapping it for his preferred, more manly drink 'Mazte' (thanks HankjUSA!)

- Have too many carrots wasting space? Burdened with fish while trying to catch that elusive perfect roe? Well now CookeryWiz allows you to search by ingredient! You can even search for that recipe that requires more than one ingredient. How? Separate each search term by a comma.

- Have a guild that likes to help out with food for writs? CookeryWiz has always had the ability to grab writ food from your bank, but now he can do it for Guild Banks! When you open a Guild Bank a button appears giving you the option to collect food. (If you don't like the position of this button, you can move it by clicking and dragging just to the left of the start of the text.)

- Been eagerly waiting to craft Psijic Ambrosia with CookeryWiz? Well now you can! A legendary quality option has been added to the quality dropdown. Select this and Voila! Psijic Ambrosia is available

- You can now easily link to recipes and the resulting food in chat by clicking on a recipe. This will bring up a menu providing you with the option.

- CookeryWiz is Imperial City ready! He has been updated with the latest recipes.

"resizeToFitDescendents" is no longer allowed. ZOS_DanBatson
gives info at this link:

https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10338

Open the files with Notpad++ or similar:
CookeryWiz\Xml\CookeryWizOptions.xml
CookeryWiz\Xml\CookeryWizStockpiles.xml

Replace all resizeToFitDescendents with DimensionContraints in both files via menu Search->Replace and save.
worked for me

Thank you Berun for finding the right files.

Errors on loading after Update 37

Since Update 37, CookeryWiz generates a series of errors on loading. The problem is the "resizeToFitDescendents=1" parameter used on some labels. Commenting out or removing this parameter eliminates the error. I don't know if there are any other unintended consequences.

The parameter is used on 6 lines in CookeryWiz\Xml\CookeryWizOptions.xml on lines 89, 108, 128, 146, 163, 180 and 3 times in CookeryWiz\Xml\CookeryWizStockpiles.xml on lines 180, 242, 352.

In one account, when Cookery Wiz cooks a provisioning writ for one character it also cooks recipes for the writs of characters I will load later. Is there a way to make it cook only for the current character's writs? I didn't see any obvious option in its settings that would affect this. Could some other addon be causing this behavior?

I did manage to make the Inventory Icon Mouseover Work again:

Open CookeryWiz.lua

Search for: (this should be starting at line 3964)

Lua Code:
  1. icon:SetAnchor(LEFT, rowControl, RIGHT, offset, 0)
  2. --icon:SetAnchor(LEFT, rowControl, LEFT, 0, 0)
  3. icon:SetDrawLevel(100)
  4. icon:SetHidden(false)

Add the following line:

Lua Code:
  1. icon:SetDrawLayer(2)

so it should look like this:

Lua Code:
  1. icon:SetAnchor(LEFT, rowControl, RIGHT, offset, 0)
  2. --icon:SetAnchor(LEFT, rowControl, LEFT, 0, 0)
  3. icon:SetDrawLevel(100)
  4. icon:SetDrawLayer(2)
  5. icon:SetHidden(false)

Missing recipes

I'm missing several recipes under Delicacies in CookeryWiz. This addon can't be used to cook those recipes.

Hey kendaron, since High Isle your icon in the inventory no longer supports mouse over to check what charakter still needs the recipe and the icon to toggle your addons options are no longer working. Do you mind fixing these 2 especially the moue over in the inventory is for me the number one reason why your addon still is the best around and even if craftstore can give the same data i prefer cookery wiz for this because i am so used to it and the colors of your icon.

Any Chance?

Since my English is not that good with writing, I'll just have the text translated ;-)

In my opinion, CookerxWiz is still the best add-on for cooking. There is no other addon that can hold a candle to this. Even if you haven't played ESO for years, is there a chance to get the add-on to work again in the current ESO version? I had it running until about a year ago, but at some point it stopped working, even after reinstalling it. Currently there is only Masterrecipelist and that is simply no replacement for CookeryWiz. As the saying goes: Among the blind, the one-eyed is king ;-)))

Ok. I have not played ESO for many years. As sad as that is, it is pretty common. The author creates an addon and then leaves. In my case I have attempted to keep it working even though I have left. Why did I create CookeryWiz in the first place? It was created because there was nothing out there:

1) That showed recipes you have and that were available away from crafting stations
2) That was able to craft food for you in bulk. Cooking was a manual one at a time process and slow
3) That could assist you with creating writ items and withdraw from bank/guild bank

I didn't really want to duplicate functionality that other addons did. My thoughts were that an addon does one thing, and does it well. It was a first in these areas and it was the reason I never spread the writ creation process to other areas. (except for alchemy... it was so close to cooking!)

Times have changed. Since then other addons have copied what CookeryWiz can do, (though I have never really looked into them and just what they are capable of, except to fix what MasterRecipeList broke.. though that was with a namespace issue due to how ESO handles addons.)

CookeyWiz is in maintenance mode. That means no new functionality. However, I do attempt to make it work with successive releases of ESO. That includes recipes. I don't see me coming back to ESO (though never say never!) and only occasionally check in.

I love that there are followers of my addon. However, if there are other addons that can take its place and are actively developed is there any point in CookeryWiz? I do not know if these addons can do everything but are they close enough?

You tell me. If enough of you express a desire for me to continue with CookeryWiz I will update it to handle multiple cooks at once. Creating a new release with updated recipes is relatively easy. New functionality takes some work but I will do it if there is reason. So comment away!

Almost unusable compared to other addons due to taking so long to craft large quantities.
Exact same thing, how is that possible people can use it ? DO I have to wait 2 mins for it to craft 100 foods ?? I don't get it...

Missing Recipes

This addon is fantastic and the best option for easy cooking, but it seems to be missing a few recipes (thus preventing you from creating them). So far, I've spotted Artaeum Takeaway Broth and Orzorga's Smoked Bear Haunch as missing from the list. It would be amazing if this addon got updated to include those and any other missing recipes!

I may have a problem or error
for some time when making daily craft writ more precisely when making daily boiling in cooking I have in one addon a text (see picture) which tells me if I understand well that I should visit the fan to buy the recipe I need to make daily boiling while taking recipes required for that daily vrit I know a long time ago.
the mentioned text is underlined in the picture

I put several comments into several comments on addons that can do it because I can't find out which of the three addons can do it (CraftStore Stonethorn, ESO Master Recipe List, Crafting Writ Assistant, CookeryWiz)

CookeryWiz block's hiding Tooltip on other crafting stations

I am using CookeryWiz for Cooking, but use also other crafting stations.
Among other things I craft furniture and furnitures have an item preview which hides the tooltip.
But CookeryWiz blocks the hiding of the tooltip !

without CookeryWiz

with CookeryWiz
