FCO StarveStop

Application is Fast API ready

This addon will remind you to eat/drink your food buff.
And it is able to remind you to drink a potion.

It is able to do this by help of a customizable text(s) and/or an icon, combined with a possible sound alert!

Features
-Setup different texts for food / drinks / potions
-Setup the icon's texture, size and position for food & drinks, or potions
-Drag&Drop the icon with the left mouse button
-Hide the icon with the right mouse button
-Icon will be hidden if you eat/drink food buff / potion
-Icon will be shown if your food buff fades out / if your potion's buff fades out and your potions cooldown is gone
-Play sound alert (choose from > 600 different ingame sounds) as the warning appears
-Repeat the sound up to 10 times with a delay from 250ms to 10s
-Show the text/icon alert as you zone/reloadui
-Show a warning if your active food buff will expire soon (you can choose the minutes before expiration and the seconds to repeat the warning)
-Automatically switch to a food buff quickslot that you've chosen and after you've used your food buff switch back to the previous quickslot, or switch to a predefined quickslot (depending on your current situation)
-You can setup a timer which checks for your buff food every n seconds
-Setup the timer to only check for your food buff if you are:
In a PvP/PvE region
In a group/raid group
In a delve/a public dungeon/a group dungeon/a raid dungeon
Or all of the above mentioned.

-Automatically switch your quickslot to a pre-defined slot if your food buff is not active, the checkruns, and you are out of combat (will switch back to your previously active quickslot automatically if you enter combat)
-Differentiate the automatic quickslot switch between PvE and PvP (inside AvA region) areas
-Differenmtiate the automatic quickslot switch between normal quest areas, delves, public dungeons, group dungeons and raid dungeons
-Enable the automatic quickslot switch even if your food buff is active: This way you can let the addon switch your quickslots to a chosen one if you enter/leave combat, and again you can choose different slots for PvE and PvP.
-Choose the quickslot from a dropdown with your current quickslot's item name, item quality color, item count in [ ], item level so you do not have to open your quickslots and see which item is located in what slot and what is the item like

Example:
In PvP you could switch to a tripod if you enter combat and to a stamina potion if you leave combat (longer hiding/running)
In PvE you could switch to a food buff if you are out of combat, and to a magicka+crit potion if you enter combat

-Or let the addon remember the currently used quickslot if you enter combat and switch bck to this quickslot if you leave combat again

Wanna help me out with new food/drink buffs?
If you happen to see that new food/drink buffs appear in the game or your food reminder icon is not disappearing after you drink/eat something:
Check which food/drink you got active at the moment or cook/brew/get the new ones.
If you want to add them to the addon, you can support me by doing the following:

1. Eat/drink the new food/drink -> it should be shown as a buff on your character now
2. Open the chat and write the following into the chat text entry, followed by the RETURN key:

3. Check your active buffs that are listed in the chat window and watch out for the food/drink buff.
Tell me the number after the ", AbilityId: " string, e.g. 89955
Note this number down and tell it to me please.

Repeat this for each new food/drink you want to add to the addon.


To check if the abilityId that you noted down was the correct one you can use this function ingame.
Tpye this into the chat's textbox and press RETURN:

You cannot.
As the icons only show if you need to eat/drink/take a potion I don't think it's necessary to lock them.

I hope you are not going to click tham that frequently that you are moving them a lot by accident

I didn't have these installed at all, because the description says that it's only for devs. I installed them now, just in case it helps.
Well how do I explain that now without getting angry
If you want to read more about dependencies, you can read this here: HowTo: AddOn dependencies/libraries

If the ADDON you are using says you NEED TO INSTALL THE DEPENDENCY then it does not matter what the library/dependency says as description.
Dependency means: Addon "depends on it and does not work properly without".

As the name says: LibPOTIONBuff is for the buffs the potions give you. If the lib is not installed the addon cannot check any potion. No matter what you think it works outside of trials then cannot be the truth as the addon needs it.
Either you have installed it but did not update it anymore -> What should be in your case!
Or you got the lib enabled by any other of your addons. -> Could also be the case for you!
Or it is not installed at all and FCOStarveStop cannot work at all -> With cannot be as the addon loads for you, and would NOT LOAD AT ALL if this dependency would be missing.

So it's either in your live/AddOns/LibPotionBuff folder and an older version, or somehwere in the subfolders of your other addons, e.g. /live/AddOns/Auto Eat, Recharge, Repair/libs/LibPotionBuff

So please: Update the library and test with ONLY FCOStarveStop and the needed dependencies enabled if the potion reminder works properly!
I cannot speak for any other addon so pelase just test with FCOSS enabled, thanks.

"Check region" is set to "Always" and "Check in" is set to "Everywhere".
Pelase also check this with ONLY FCOSS enabled to be sure its not missing to work because of any other addon.
If you can find out aftwards, that FCOSS + other addons, make it fail to work, you can tell me which one for sure and I can have a look at these. thanks

Essence of mage power which is a standard crafted potion and supported by LibPotionBuff.
Tested it with my own crafted potions and it works properly, so I gues it's because of your not up2date library
LibPotionBuff.

Hey there, thanks for the quick response. I updated my last comment just now, because I found out that this weird error message is not related to your addon at all. The actal culprit was an addon called "Auto Eat, Recharge, Repair". I played around with the slider there and found it out that way.

I have set "Check in" to "Everywhere". And it actually works everywhere BUT in trials. Maybe it is correlated to the addon RaidNotifier somehow? I only use that addon in 12 man trials.

"Warning before expiration" is, like the name says, only for an additional warning before the food buff will fade out.
The normal reminder, as it has faded out, is not touched by this setting, and is controlled by ""Repeat food buff check (seconds)".
There is no setting to turn this off in total as this addon IS ALL ABOUT checking and saying your food buff is not active

This setting "Warning before expiration" is used to show you, e.g. 5 minutes before the 60min food buff will fade out, that you need to re apply it soon.
The tooltips of the settings describe this as well:

You can define how often it should do this, like every 60 seonds within these 5 mins left, via the slider below/next to this setting.


Still not sure what I need to set in my settings to get this error message "ZOS says I can't CallSecureProtected, they say false"" you have mentioned?
Even with this slider > 10 mins I don't get this text and the text is not even in my addon somewhere.

Can you please copy the "exact message" and tell me where it shows? In the chat? In an lua error poup? Somewhere else -> Where exactly?

Need to test this myself but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work except you have maybe disable any food buff or potion alert checks within raids/trials? You need to enable the "Everywhere" check e.g. in the "Where to check" dropdown to make it work in trials as well.

The text will always go away after like 1 seconds, this is ZOs game code I'm using.
The icon will go away for me as well, automatically after the potion was used.

Are you sure and have checked you got LibPotionBuff and LibFoodDrinkBuff updated to the newest versions?

What settings did you setup for "Check region" and "Check where"? Please tell me exactly what the 2 dropdown boxes look like for your settings so I can test witzh your settings, or send me your FCOStarveStop.lua SavedVariables file to [email protected] and provide me the accountname and character name you have tested it with so I can have a test with exactly your settings!

Which potion are you using in detail as it does not remove the potion icon?
Please send the potion item to chat via context menu and mark the item in the chat with your mouse, press CTRL+C and copy the text to me here.
You'll get the "itemlink", something like |h:0:item etc., which I need in total length!

Hey Baertram, sorry for the late response. The problem still persists, but and as it turns out had nothing to do with your addon. But: As far as I understand it, the slider "Warning before expiration" is supposed to turn off the bufffood reminder when set to 0. This doesn't work, it still reminds me when my bufffood runs out. I can confirm that it's not another addon that does this, because none of the others have the meat icon, that gets displayed by your addon when the bufffood runs out.

I also want to report another issue. Unfortunately I cannot provide an error log, because the game doesn't throw one, even with "No, thank you" disabled. I don't have another addon that surpresses error messages.

Weird error message

Hey guys, I have a very weird problem. When my buff food duration reaches the point of 10 minutes left, I get this error message in the chat: "ZOS says I can't CallSecureProtected, they say false". Tested it with your settings finally and as I worried already the delve detection is not working properly for all of them
I'll see if I can find a better way to detect them. Dungeons seem to work but delves do nto show any good info or there is no API which says "I'm in a delve right now".

Some are detectable via their texture name of the current map or an POI which got "delve" in the name. But not all.

Edit:
Changed the code to check if grouped, and it not and unit "player" is in a dungeon we assume he is in a delve (as being solo in a dungeon would port you out of it normally, at least if you were in a group before).

Normally if you enter you get a loading screen and afterwards this event fires.
Maybe the delve detection is not working for some of them. It's hard as there is no api function for it and one needs to trust some factors like in group or not (as dungeons are most of the times in groups and delves aren't) and then if the api function IsinDungeon returns true (which it does for delves as well) and as last possibility check if the map name contains some delve in the string. Perhaps that's the reason as well. Are you in a group if you are getting into the delve?

It only works if the game throws an event player activated. If entering the drive does not throw the event I can't do anything about it. Which drive did you test in what zone? Well try if it throws the event there.

I tested it some more tonight, including reloading when in the delve. I'm still having the problem of it playing the screen alert message only when I leave a delve, but not when I enter or reload in it. I noticed that there are small areas outside the delve entrances that have the same name as the delve. It's as if the addon thinks these over-world areas are the actual delves and not the cave itself.

Here is a screenshot of my options, I'm trying to get it to show the warning only in dungeons and delves, maybe I have an option wrong?
